Nice! Buy her some nice gear and get her into it too so you can enjoy it together. Maybe you won't be in as much trouble. Just don't get her TOo into it because then you have to buy her one and that's different kind of trouble!

Did blow my budget with a fancier Shoei or whatever helmet. But the extra doober safe helmet didn't sway her any.

Nice, what's your impression of the Rhino, would you buy one again?

The ergonomics are great, as long as it doesn't break I think I'll really like it (I say that because it seems like a Rube Goldberg machine inside).

It's a lot lighter than I thought it would be (its much lighter than the Dan Wesson 14-2 snubbie I have) and carries very nicely. The DA trigger is a little heavy and not as nice as a tuned S&W but the SA trigger is very nice. Mine came with the fiber optic sights which are great for my old eyes.

So far I'm glad I have it and would probably buy another one.

Only negative is that the grip angle is more like a target pistol than a combat gun so you have to break your wrist over a bit more (this is more of a "getting used to it" training thing than anything else).

Chopped, and the paint I used has already worn off. The ambi lever really messed with it for me as lefty, my handgun grip wasn't used to accommodating a slide lever so I wound up causing it to not lock back a lot.

DA is ok, a little heavy and long (but slightly better than my Dan Wesson 14-2, not quite as nice as my S&W 686 Target) ... the SA trigger is very nice, light and short.

More old school cool. This holster for my 1978 4" 66-1 is from American Classic Gunleather. A copy of the old S.D. Myers holsters popular in the early and middle part of the last century. Sam Myers died in 1952, this style was very popular with law enforcement all across the country. The gentleman that is ACG makes holsters too nice not to be seen lol. This will get used especially once we move in to jacket weather here. Hope you guys like it.

Thanks, I was on the hunt for two years for the right 1978 model. This one came with the original grips (amazing condition), box, docs and tools from the original owner. He bought it in November of 1978. Was a duty gun but only has some shiny spots, the action is awesome, it's a great shooter. Came across many that were cheaper and more but none as great an all around package as this. A friend made me a great deal on the presentation grips but I'll be replacing those with another set of Grashorn stag grips and Tyler T-grip soon.

Easy, once i rethought the way the basic instructions say to do it. Along with some mods for smoother function. The spousal unit road tested it the other day. She couldn't get out of her AR / semi way of shooting. From reaching for a pistol grip to waiting for the action to cycle.
Once she got the hang of a bolt action she was impressed, although disappointed i forget to bring the suppressor.

This is more of I just placed this item on order...I was hunting for a replacement part to hold a NIMA 17 motor and found that there was a new version of a 3d printer out. It is sort of cool to be able to just print a plastic part that broke.

72070

I was looking at getting one of the Monoprice 3d printers...the reviews were all over the place. There was too many "1" ratings for me to buy the printer. I know of a few folks at work that have had some very good results with this kit...after they spent like 3 weeks printing out replacement / upgrade parts.

Then I found the PRUSA blog posts about the new h/w that just came out around 22nd of Sept. After looking at the hardware upgrades the new generation printer included, I bit the bullet and place an order.
72071

It was odd in a good way to see that the base h/w can be upgraded to use wifi using the Raspberry Pi zero.

Erni

Prusa is very nice. I got a craving to get one too. A frined is recomending the Folger Tech printer, which has a 12' print depth and has me intrigued.

People who wear XX-wide sizes know that New Balance or Dunham (owned by NB), are about the only choices for shoes and boots. Some of the NB hikers run a half size small so sometimes I've had to order large to get enough width. Decided to go with the Dunhams instead of NB this time, and they fit true to size. Good luck.

Wide NB tennis shoes are all I can wear, but I don't wear them often.

I've found Merrells available in (W)ide widths locally at REI in the past, and they've been good boots, but selection is very limited and sometimes hard to find depending on model/style. I wear the casual slip-ons, and have some lace up hikers. However, all are starting to show their age. Now that I know how sizing runs, the last pair of slip ons I just ordered online.

Unsure if their (W)ide designation would fit the 4EE guys, I usually run a 10.5 2E and my foot is 4.5" at the widest.

For hunting boots in wide width, my Danner Pronghorns haven't let me down and are super comfortable.

FYI...if you need dress shoes at all:

Allen Edmonds runs nice wide widths. While they are crazy expensive, you can usually find gently used ones on Ebay in the $40 range. They are also some of the MOST comfortable shoes I've ever worn.

It's 5.56, Spikes upper and lower. But I pieced together from there. Still need sights, but I put the Vortex on it. Has an adjustable gas block and it runs smooth alone and with a can. Had to wait on stamps for the rifle and the can, which is the Silencerco Hybrid. Hitting 10 inch steal at 150 yards. I am very happy with the outcome. I also ran with a Tac Con 3MR trigger. I am very pleased with it.

Still waiting on the bumpfire stamp

I considred 300 BLK but I am really a 5.56 guy. I may do a pistol in .300 BLK which will be easer to sell or trade than a stamped rifle.

It's a nice rifle (even without the bumpfire). I've thought about a pistol in .300 BLK but would want to try one first. Accuracy is still important. I have an Omega to use with 5.56., a .30-06 bolt hunting rifle, and a future .300 BLK.

So only 6 months and 3 days that you paid the ATF? They don't mess around with cashing the check, they just make you wait a year. It was definitely worth the wait. It is a ton of fun. Just in time fore sum....never mind. I'll just be cold having fun.

Believe it or not I'm sitting on a few hundred of them (HP and the standard stuff). People at tanner don't seem to know what they have, but they're neat rounds and are the most POA shooting loads in any of the 2" J frames I've played with.

I really love it. I know I could have gotten something a little quieter if I was more specific in caliber, but I didn't want a different can for each gun when they are such a pain in the ass to get and cost as much if not more than many guns I own. I haven't tried it on anything but 5.56 and it really lowers the decibel level.

Turbo?

Yup, exhaust manifold/turbo housing flange gasket. 2004.5 CTD 5.9L. Had to replace a leaky one... and then found something more.

Didn't you just get a manifold done?

Yup. Farmed that out due to broken manifold bolts that I was not equipped or comfortable to repair myself. Additionally, the turbo exhaust housing had a crack and he was able to source a reasonably priced part from a trusted supplier and repair the turbo for me.

Blew the flange gasket out on the outboard side on my first hard pull, not 300 miles into the new parts, and then I found one of the nuts missing off the engine side firewall side stud. You can see that hole just to the lower left of the pyro port.

I put on prevailing torque nuts which I was surprised to find at Lowes (though not flanged, they were larger in diameter and fit the space.) Talked to the guy that did the work and he said he's going to start staking them from now on.

Pretty cool that BD puts a port on both sides of the split manifold. I used the back half as #4 is the shortest run and figured it would be the hottest.

Turbo downpipe?

That's the only thing I didn't have to take apart to fix. Downpipe would almost always be round unless some exotic.

The smaller two-hole gasket is for the bottom side oil drain. Replaced that too with a fresh one. The other o-rings are for various turbo parts I didn't have to get into. Two of them are for the oil line feed tube, but they're off spec a little with the factory ones which were still sealing well, so I left Them alone. recommend genuine MOPAR parts if you're gonna do one of these and want/need to replace all those seals. This was a MAHLE kit.

Herself, and it's ridiculous, even as little as a week or two ago, was pretty not happy with me taking it to work. Then I was watching some hooligans on youtube riding Groms and she asked me to put it on the big screen. A few nights of that and she was thinking of getting one, a few days more of being interested and on Saturday she wanted to go look at them. At that point I did push just do it try it, and worst case easy resale on these.

She'll take an MSF class, but went in the parking lot nearby and worked on what controls do and friction zone work and by the end was scooting off at 10mph in a straight line.

You can't beat em for the price...cheap enough not to really care about using them hard or losing them, but they're robust enough for daily carry and use. I sell a lot of these for folks looking to get into autos without putting up the larger price tag for out the front's or more expensive brands.

Mrs. Hummer needed better tires for driving the icy canyon roads, so I got new tires and dedicated wheels.

They are Nokian Hakkapeliitta 8 SUV Studded made in Iceland, with Drag dr-34 wheels in gloss black with machined rims. They're butch!

Just in time for the snow, I've gotta go try 'em out.

Just got back from a drive on some icy mountain roads here. It's amazing how much better traction and security studded tires add. Worth the cost for accident avoidance. They are dramatically noisier on dry pavement though. With luck we may get three winters of use out of them.

Down here on the front range, for the little driving I do, I just run non-studded winters on my old A6. Currently Blizzaks. No comparison to "all season" tires. For years I ran Dunlop Wintersports, but they quit making the good ones so I switched over the the Blizzaks and have been happy with them. Both are high speed rated, with the Dunlops being more performance oriented. However, the Blizzaks are stickier and I'm ok with that.

Hoping to wear these out by time and not tread use.

In the summer, I run dedicated performance summer tires. I never did get around to buying a second set of wheels so I pay to have them changed twice a year.

While driving around the west this fall we saw a few factory conversions. Either we're going to convert a sprinter or transit, perhaps buy a bigger truck and hybrid trailer for snowbird times of year.

stock image and youtube video. I really like this machine. I can seal 6 bags of hamburgers (or whatever) at a time. There are 2 seal bars and can seal 20 inches of bags on each. You can configure all the settings. I have it set at a 20 second vacuum time and 1.3 second seal time. Bags run 2.3 -4 cents a bag. I use 3 or 4 mil bags usually. I slaughtered a cow about 2 weeks ago. I let it hang for 10 days and then butchered this weekend. I can grind a whole cows worth of hamburger in about 4 minutes on coarse grind and another 4 minutes on fine grind. The trouble is how long it takes to package it. Well no more. I can fill bags off a stuffing horn and then into the sealer they go. So fast.
72609This pic is mine.

That's impressive! Chamber vacuum sealers are a giant step up from the vacuum sealer I just got. I couldn't justify the cost but if I were 20 yrs younger and packaged whole beef that would be the schnitz.

A question, does it seal right around the meat cuts or only along a strip? Are you packaging commercially too?

Nope. Building tower bases for work. 1/2" steel doesn't bend real well, which makes it GREAT for supporting towers.

Why did they break?

See that short little accordian rubber bootie?

Dodge effed up making it so short between the body and door, and farmed out the originals to the cheapest bid that used low strand count stiff wire. Very common problem on the 4-door Dodges. Not sure what model years were affected.

The aftermarket Dorman garbage I put on the first time lasted two years if I recall. Driver side was broken wire again (window) and both rubber boots disintegrated.

Lots of guys just splice them back together, but I wasn't messing with that.

Last night we made a cross-rib roast. 40 minutes +10 more for the spuds. Oven roast would take about an hour if you were rushing it, should be a 3-4 hour roast at low temp. It was better than the last same cut roast we had in the crockpot for all day.

Not recommended for deep fry... The escaping moisture from the food ends up in the oil.

Saute is the hottest it will go for browning meats.

There's just me so I think he's probably getting the 3

I'd like to put the upper from that onto my SBR lower to see if it works. I've got the gen 1 lower and have been thinking about trying to get my hands on one of those uppers.

Got a deal on 2 of these direct from the owner.

I made a tiny fuss on a FB group over the delay trying to buy them for the holidays (to run my outside lights), and found a little bug in his indoor 2-channel model when paired with Wink. As amends, he sent me these for the price of the old 1-channel units even though he's working with Wink to remedy the issue.
