I finally took the new kayak out for it's maiden voyage today (https://www.ar-15.co/threads/42773-Post-a-picture-of-your-latest-purchase?p=2416532&viewfull=1#post2416532).
I went to Rampart Reservoir. I haven't been there in 15+ yrs and they now charge $11 to get in and if you want access to the boat ramp/far side of the dam, you have to get the guard to let you through. Prior to opening the gate, he read through the rules of where you can't fish then told me he locks the gate @ 5PM, sharp. I made it out with 5 minutes to spare.
So, new to kayaking and haven't even been in a canoe for 35 years. The kayaking part was great and much easier than I expected. I did learn that I need an anchor if I don't want to keep drifting while I'm trying to fish. Fishing from the kayak (2 lines) wasn't my favorite. Mostly due to the location of the rod holders and the drifting. Learned a few things to help make my next adventure a bit better.
Overall, I'm glad I bought it.

going to say - while I don't have long hair - that VW Bus is cool.
Under powered from what little I remember - but would consider
back in the day to turn it into an overnight camper.
Overnight camper -> add captain chair(s) in the back area that would fully
recline. And curtains, got to have that to keep the light out.
I would be picky and want a Volkswagen Type 2 bus.
What you have there would make for a mighty fine to
go to the beach.

I bought an Armageddon Gear "Hot Pocket" and I love this thing and wish it had been in my life decades earlier. It's nothing more than a pouch with a whole bunch of insulated lining, but you can throw a piping hot can in it and not burn through your range bag. I no longer have to budget a cool-down period in my shooting time. I don't even take the can off; just put it over the whole super-hot barrel and suppressor, bag it up, and go. Like anything, I doubt you can be outright stupid with it and I am sure it is still possible to light your bag and/or car on fire if you do multiple mag dumps and then case up a rifle with the same surface temperature as the sun. But to date, I have run my rifles and cans pretty hot several times, and it has done it's exact job brilliantly. This is not how it is intended for use, but it is exactly how I use it:

Pair of these to upgrade my OS drive (Raid1), but what a damn hassle to get there. MS "unlicensed" my OS and forced me to use massgrave.

Through no fault of mine, a battle buddy killed the stylus on a venerable Shure V15-IV during a drunken jam session ages ago.
After all these years, finally decided to get it back in play. Should have done something when OE parts were still available but suitable replacement carts were cheap and abundant.
There's much higher end (sapphire cantilever, SAS tips, etc.) but this will do me just fine and is equivalent to the OE HE tip.

LOL, I rotated a Stanton 881S with D81S-II stylus in while waiting. Forgot I even had it. Found it while going through the box of parts/carts I had put away.
I've had 3x Shure M97xE carts in 3 of my decks since forever now and one of them mysteriously has a cattywampus stylus and also suffered the adhesive failure syndrome where the cart body comes unglued from the mount. I expect the issues are related.
Strange how all these carts I picked up cheap or for next to nothing have gotten so expensive. One of the M97xE I bought for $129, then two one sale for $58 each and they now go for $550.

As someone who's never been an audiophile, I guessed you were referring to a turntable "stylus" (I'm so low-tech audio wise I just call them "needles"), but to be sure I had to search "Shure V15-IV".

Most classic (moving magnet) turntable cartridges have a replaceable stylus that has among other parts, "the needle." Moving Coil cartridges, some modern low end and the very high end MM carts are not user replaceable and require full replacement or rebuild by the OEM.

Replacement Stylus
99560
These old cartridges from the 70's OE parts are long gone so only ebay used, occasionally very high priced NOS, but more often a suitable or sometimes even better aftermarket part can be found.
I opted for a reasonably priced, well known aftermarket replacement for a more modest price. I actually found this one on amazon for $124. Moving to the next level would be double or triple the price for more exotic diamond tips and cantilever materials like boron and sapphire. This stuff I'm running is still consider mid-fi by many vinyl snobs but it works for me. I got into it when they were cheap and tend to take care of them most of the time.
99561
There are carts that are upwards of $15-20K. Just like any other product, a fool and his money can easily be parted.

Carpal Tunnel.
Sadly I'm not yet convinced this is the fix... We'll see if the issue clears up in a few days.

ME: I would like to have a Core One please.
Order Taker: All we have is the L size
ME: ok it should not be that large right?
Order Taker: Thank you for your order...click
It is a bit bigger (+10%) than the standard Core One with 2x the total volume.
And based on size, my idea of tossing it into the basement is a no.
Ship weight: 79.3lbs - about 1/2 Kilo lighter than the standard Core One.
Based on the tech write up; should be good to go for ASA/PC and other fun materials.
Now to assemble the table - after I move a few things around.

It was time to mount the winter tires and I wanted to use the near-new 17" Nokian Hakkapeliitta LTX 3 studded tires I had from my Gen 1 Tundra. There's no way I could get my money out of them in a resale so I opted for new wheels 8.5" wide that fit the new Tundra. I looks like I'll be looking for mud guards and fender flares.

How good are the Hakkafjjfjdjshsgtwydjd tires?
How good are the Hakkafjjfjdjshsgtwydjd tires?
Truly awesome. We drive canyon roads that remain icy/snowpacked all winter and the studded tires rule. My wife's Highlander also wears the studded Nokians in winter. The Nokian Hakkapeliitta works well in deep snow, but it's not a deep mud tire. Actually, I wish I'd had them on during my recent elk hunt instead of the Michelin Defender LTX. I might not have needed to chain up when pulling the trailer on a muddy Forest Service side road. Going with the 17" wheels give me more space to mount snow tires. I'm better prepared for next years hunt.
BTW, the Nokian Hakkapeliitta are Finnish tires made in the USA, not Mexico or China. And, I use google to remind me how to spell it. ;.)

One of the few types of mufflers / silencer I sort of want is something in 22lr.
To get around the paperwork/cost - I went with a different type of 22 Cal.
A PCP pellet rifle. For something more than 25 yards, I want a ballistic curve
less of a rainbow, more of a shallow arc.
Based on the video at their site - it looks cool - I am looking forward for a range report.

Insert photo of items that failed to ship. Items just went into back order status 2 days
after the order. I picked up a new AMD + CPU - but in AM4 configuration. Because
it seems that my old dusty DDR4 ram will work just fine.
My goal is to turn some left over hardware from upgrades and one really old computer back to life.
All I have to buy just one motherboard and CPU. Because the AM4 motherboard is a B550 design,
it will run any of the current versions of Linux without any fuss. (red flag set here)
