Picked up this 2012 Sportster Iron a few weeks ago with 3300 miles on it, and have been riding the piss out of it. I'm headed a totally different direction with it than most Harley owners go. The first mod I did was lift the rear end up with some new progressive coil overs. Lot's more parts in route. Picture taken yesterday.

Great Iron, let's get a forum ride together, no need to wait, even just a quick hop to grab a bite! The last Sporty I had was an '06 Roadster, longer shocks, stiffer fork springs and fork brace. Some engine work-94 ft lbs torque, 92 hp, Metzeler tires. Loved that bike.

Slapps, thanks. I've been on a revolver kick for a bit. Have more fun at the range with them.

On order now are a set of MX pegs, MX bars, then to change out the exhaust, gonna have a scrambler style exhaust built for it, then some new wheels and a semi knobby tire. Wheels are a killer, no matter what I look at they are $800+ each.

Here are some bikes I am using for inspiration.

Those are really cool. I had an AMF-HD 80 as a kid and those bring back that look much improved.

Sadly, I really disliked it at the time and ended up trading it for a Suzuki TM400 moto-x. My pa was not happy.

I've always used Woodys for my dirtbikes so they got my first call. The guy I talked to told me if I brought them hubs and rims they could lace up whatever I wanted, but they couldn't come up with all the parts. Seemed pretty lame to me.

Sure! Perhaps we can be doubles partners? [Pirate]

I'm sure you already know but the side pocket fits pmags top to bottom perfectly to hold them snug. I have the same one in blue and thought I was sneaky until my buddy commented on the fact that if anyone saw me (a 265lb teddy bear) walking down the street carrying that the last thing on their mind would be that I was a tennis player. lol There was one online vendor that had what was obviously the same case w/o the 'Wilson' on the side for I think $59.99 for a while (maybe they still do) same color options that Walmart had for I think $10.97 when I got mine. I'm not sure what the price is these days but even if it's doubled from when I got mine you won't find a better deal on a 'covert' carry case so long as you can fit your gat into it.

KSGs fit pretty well too.

So does my 9" 300BLK rifle with the stock collapsed and about 10 pmags in the side pocket. Not sure how long the strap will hold that kind of weight though if full loaded with 220gr subsonic slugs.

BUT........ they sell you tamales (3-4 different varieties )they keep warm in one of those pizza style cabinets. No kitchen, just the warming cabinets .

Today was a banner day for me. I spent most of the day running around from Colorado Springs to Broomfield picking up recent firearms purchases. Thanks to Vossman and Dave_L for the great deals on some fine lightly used guns. I also picked up a Ruger 77/22 with the SRT integrated suppressor. My tax stamp approval came back a little over a month ago, but it took me until today to make the time to go retrieve the gun. I think it's going to look downright sweet with a Harris bipod and a Nikon P-Rimfire 2-7x32 scope!

http://www.woodardfamily.com/hosted/ruger7722.jpg

You'll notice that the barrel is resting on a bottle of black gold. I placed a powder order with Lohman Arms in March of 2014. About 2 days ago they called to say that my powder was in and they could ship it if I still wanted it. Sure. Why not? I can't believe how quickly it arrived. I found a heavy duty box waiting for me on my porch after a day of gathering firearms. Woo, hooo. 'Course now I'm broke again! Somebody buy a Trust from me so I can support my habit!

Actually I bought the whole rifle with brace attached. The suppressor is a SAS Eadrom. Got to shoot about 30 rounds through it yesterday. It's still pretty loud with the short barrel short can combo, but very easy to shoot.

Thank you, I assumed it was something like that, since fog lights are amber.

From the yellow light article:

In fact it's because of the way the human eye processes different colours of light. Blue, indigo, and violet are difficult for the human optical system to process correctly. They are the shortest visible wavelengths and tend to focus in front of our retina rather than upon it. To demonstrate this to yourself, after dark find a deep blue storefront sign or blue lights on an airport runway or something else that's a deep blue light emitter against a dark background in the absence of white light—from any appreciable distance, it's almost impossible for your eyes to see the blue lighted object as a sharply defined form;the edges blur. The blur effect is not present with nearby signs or lights of colours other than blue.

This explains, and perfectly captures, why I can't make out the time on my parents stove with blue LED display. Drives me crazy.

Accessories?! Please do share. I am thinking a VFG, InForce light, red dot, and possibly some folding sights. Hopefully I will be able to post a picture for two stamp Tuesday if my cerakote work gets done in time. I was really lucky to get the kit as soon as I did. Well, aside from the usual accessories like that I got a right safety delete (http://www.hbindustries.net/shop/CZ-EVO3-Scorpion-Right-Safety-Delete-V2.html) & a lighter trigger spring set (http://www.hbindustries.net/shop/CZ-Scorpion-S1-Reduced-Weight-Trigger-Spring-Kit.html) and plan to polish up the contact surfaces while the trigger pack is out. $8.50 will take you from 9lbs+ and gritty/soggy to smooth/crisp and about 6lbs. If you're interested, shipping was only $3.50 so all told it's a killer price for some much-needed parts & I have zero problem plugging sellers that have reasonable prices on both parts & shipping.

My kit stock kit as well as a fist-full or so of non-15rd magazines is on a FedEx truck out for delivery as we speak. I'm pretty stoked.

Now to get that SBR'd PAP M92 project done that I started before I ever even owned a Scorpion. lulz

I ordered a left side safety delete as I am a SouthPaw (get it?). I ordered it from a guy on the CZ face book page it's junk. So will probably just shave my current one down. I heard a few people were having trigger reset problems with that spring set? I know they released a gen2 set to fix that problem. I honestly do not mind the trigger. Sure it doesn't break like glass, but its manageable.

This delete is the v2 one and so far I've heard good things. I guess the early spring kits were a little bit too wide in the coil and was causing some packs to bind up. I think they've been sending the Rev B for a bit now and it's not only thinner on the coil with a slightly wider angle but also is nearly a pound lighter than the first version by some people's measurements. I plan on having a perfectly functioning SBR with a crisp trigger pull somewhere in the sub-6lb range at about about half of what an MPX would have cost me.

I just put 500 rounds through mine suppressed and didn't get 'gas in the face' at all. The American Eagle I used was pretty dirty and I could see the gas coming out, it shoots forward and out to the left for me.

I plan on taking a class early next year on more official medical training. However, I still think its a good thing to have. The basics are pretty user friendly. Combat gauze, Israeli dressing, tourniquet, etc. Basically enough to stop/reduce bleeding if one were to get shot or something and get the person to the hospital. I assume I'll add to it after I take the class but this is better than nothing. I look at it that if you go to the range, you have a need for one. Accidents happen.

After taking a class this weekend, I realized I'm dumb for not having a trauma/med kit with me as part of my range gear. Ordered this guy and supplies to stuff it with:

damn you... i forgot to ask you to order me one and we can save on shipping.

I need to buy one and have my cousin teach me how to use all the stuff in there, but since I don't really need it yet I will hold out on buying one.

No one needs a gun, till they do.

See below link. The money one spends on coffee or a few lunches / going to dinner, are worth less than the training you will get from Chris.

This class is a must have.

https://www.ar-15.co/threads/150892-Casualty-Care-Courses-for-Fall-Winter-2015?highlight=tccc

Thank you for the link. One could take the money being spent on a Christmas, Chanukah , Kwanza , Holiday gift and put it to much better use. YMMV

Went to the range today with them I'm really pleased. They come with a few different set of rubber plugs to fit your ears. They have a high and low volume setting and work as well as any electronic over ears I've used. There was even a guy shooting an AR, which indoors always sucks, and I didn't feel like I needed additional protection.

The super nice thing is they charge while they are in th case. 3 AA batteries so you know they will be ready when you go to use them. They arw kinda spendy but after the first use I'm sold.

Been almost 2 months since we bought it but we've rid ourselves of the PT Cruiser and got a car that should last much longer. A 2008 Honda Element EX AWD. Had to drive down to Santa Fe to pick it up, but it was a great deal on a like new car and most important it has 3 pedals (which is hard to find in these cars ... especially if you want one under 150k miles that hasn't been beat half to death).

Not a photo of my actual one but it looks just like this.

Don't you be too sarcastic... it got down to 29 in Solvang last week. ;)

The Dynapros are great tires, and they were some of the cheapest ones at Discount America's Tire. Got out the door for only $560. The guys there just gave me a look of utter disbelief because my old tires were basically racing slicks, but when the roads are always dry and clear, there isn't much risk with slicks...

I was actually planning on going with the dynapros, for the low cost and milder road manners, but the wife had other plans and surprised me with new tires (no complaints).

Now for the life of me, I can't imagine why discount would have sold my wife a load range E duratrac for a Nissan Xterra, but I promptly had them switch out for C's. I assume they wanted to sell a person that didn't know any better, a more expensive tire. Good on discount as a company for making it right with no questions asked, but shame on the salesman.

Perhaps is was trailer tires I'm recalling but unless it actually says 10-ply on the sidewall, many load range E tires now are not actually 10-ply. Better materials is what I've been told.

It's technically a '10 ply rating' but newer materials and design may not require 10 full ply as long as it makes the grade in testing and such.

I ordered a lionheart lh9. Ever since I saw Colion Noirs video a few years back I've been interested in one but didn't want to spend the $675 for one. Then when bigdaddyhoffman said they were having a black firday sale i had to jump on it. So ordered one this morning for $399 shipped.

Got to finger bang one at a Tanner once, a friend had it. Cool concept on the trigger setup.

Thats what I thought about twenty years ago when Daewoo offered it as their "tri-action" trigger. My step dad had one.

Picked this up for my boy for Christmas last weekend. I'm not sure who is more excited for Christmas.

Just got this today. Christensen Arms Carbon classic, chambered in .28 Nosler. The rifle weights in at 6 1/2 lbs. I'll put the Swarovski glass on it tonight and hopefully be able to go shoot it soon.

I picked this up yesterday before the pin match at Bristlecone. A 1911 has been on my list for a while.

Every time I buy a Spuhr I feel like an abused spouse. I really love them, but I wish they would stop beating me in the ass.

^Hint, never leave any powder in the measure for longer than a few hours. Good luck with it.

Another hint, When you fire it up to let it "warm up" wipe it down with a touch of Windex on a rag or paper towel (spray it on the rag, not the powder measure) and then don't put your powder in until it's had a little time (5-10) to evaporate off fully. This will kill any static electricity build up on the unit, and reduce ball powder sticking all over the place and help your weight accuracy.

Why

The polymers they use are cheap and some powders will soften the surface and even "glue" to it. That makes chunks and bridging and really fouls up the feed tube.

Sounds like a job for some schedule 40 PVC like in my "Dillon" powder measure.

I was planning to use pre-owned dryer sheets.

I wish it was the bargain basement!

Optics planet had a great sale on the Flir. I online chatted with a rep about price matching and he gave me an extra 11% off code. So after rebate under $1700 for the scout II 320.

The black is $15 less than the Orange and I used Cabela's bucks to cover the tax and a free shipping code, so probably the same price...
