Just ate at the Silver Grill for the first time on Sunday. Really good food and decent Bloody Mary bar too.

Silver Grill is awesome. They HAD the best country fried pork chop ever until they took it off the menu. The chicken & beef analogs are still pretty darn tasty but that tender juicy pork chop was SO stinkin' good. The cinnamon roll toast or whatever it is they serve is crack. 5,000 cal of crack.

I don't get out to FoCo much so it was good to try somewhere new that had some history. The steak and eggs were pretty good for the portions and price. Could have been we got there at 1:30pm (they close at 2pm) so they gave me a giant piece of steak before closing but it was at least a 10oz. Combined with two over eggs, potatoes and toast - $12. Snooze has some good breakfast stuff as well.

While I agree that Snooze is decent I don't think it justifies either the wait or the price tag. I'd take Silver Grill over Snooze any day. Just my opinion.

The wait is terrible there. What I really liked about Silver Line was the hot sauce collection. I had 4-5 bottles at the table as I like to have variety.

Maybe a few years back. The last time round. They seemed to be more concerned about their image and not the food. Not too hard to not fuk up eggs, bacon and sourdough toast. Instead of scrambled with links. they served me over easy and patties. Umm that's not what i ordered. It's not? No i'm sure scrambled eggs and LINK sausage looks a bit different. Then she actually wanted to debate what i was served since "they were very busy"

swung by Cabela's after work today to get some bass and trout fishing gear.

Ended up leaving with 6 boxes of Federal .22 lr ammo (525 rounds) for $19.99 a box. They price matched Wal-Mart. Originally $25.99 a box.

Definitely shouldn't have gone camping at a place where I had cell service. I swear I'm going to wind up with an axe for absolutely every perceivable axe using scenario.

Looks like the handle's grain is going cross ways. Should be oriented with the head. Too bad, I usually like Huskys.

Picked up a smaller 1 gallon CH compressor to keep in my truck box and run off my Titans 110 converter and it paid off the first week!! Woke up to a flat tire Saturday while out with the Boy Scouts at the NRA Whittington Center in New Mexico. Worked well enough to air up my tire after I plugged the puncture. Best purchase I have made in awhile.

It's a great little compressor, noisy as hell as you can imagine but really handy. Filled up my ATV tires last night and blew off my gun bench.

Grand Power Stribog. 9mm. Comes with some nice out of the box features such as threaded barrel with protector and metal fold down sights. I also got the adaptor so I can run a pistol brace.

I lose guns all the time too. Usually tragic boating accidents in the summertime and in the winter it's tragic back country skiing accidents even though I've never skied a day in my life. Good thing they weren't stolen though as I'd probably have to file a police report. Dunno. Not really sure how all of that works I just know I don't own any guns anymore despite my best efforts over the years to acquire many of them. I just can't seem to keep the darn things. *shrugs*

*shrugs*

Why do you personally chose to carry a 80% over a serialized manufactured glock? I’m not against 80%ers as I have some myself but mine are just loaners for plinking. I guess I’m afraid on malfunctions when I need it, or similar to reloading self defense ammo how that could potentially make you look like the BG.

Awesome looking holster!! Never seen that design before

I did serialize the lower. Also, I know for a fact this Poly 80 is reliable. It runs like a top. I do have a factory G19 that I carry most of the time. This is just a cool conversation piece when I'm on the range. The holster was inspired from the movie "Logan". The blonde-haired villain in the movie had one almost identical to it.

My P80's have been just as reliable as my original Glocks. My first P80 has over 6k rounds of 9mm through it now (reloads, factory, and +p+ hollowpoints to prove it will run them...)

While I understand the sentiment of worrying about reliability in time of need, I don't understand the paranoia of "This gun has been perfectly reliable through xxxx rounds, but since it wasn't made in a factory, it magically won't work in the one instance where I desperately need it..."

I'm not saying that's the logic you are using, but I see it a lot in the anti-80% world.

As for the legality of it, I've talked to firearms attorneys, LEO, and even the ATF, and no one cares as long as you are legally allowed to own firearms and have a valid CC permit.

When I specifically pushed the question of the lack of a serial number, two things were brought up by the LEO and ATF agents.

1. It's no different than carrying a pre 1968 handgun. Perfectly legal, but no serial number.
2. As long as there WASN'T a serial number, that has been removed (missing material, scratched off, otherwise made unreadable) then there isn't an issue.

I expect I will get more questions about it if I ever have to explain it, but until the laws change, there's no issue.

This is the other option.

Make your own serial number up.

This is also beneficial in the interest of if it ever got stolen.

I guess I never even considered serializing my 80%er. Mine has been reliable as well, and the flip side I've had mass manufactured weapons fail more often than I wanted.

Yes, boat trailer brakes.

Bought a bearing today too. Somehow I munged a carrier pushing the back side bearing out with the seal I was also replacing. Good thing they're common. It would have been cheaper to go buy a seal puller (I have a cheap insert tool).

P.P. Can't begin to tell you how many trailer bearings I've replaced on the side of the road (other peoples) due to lack of maintenance or improper adjustment.

Already having lots and lots of fun. :D
I had alto Yamaha one since 1989 (since used less than 20 times), and it was F code. This will be a great addition.

Be interested to hear what you think of the Precision Hunter. That's the 308 load I use.

I will get back with you if I learn anything useful. What's been your experience with it on big game? Apparently the Precision Hunter is only made in 178 gr. for .308, and in 150 gr. for 7mm-08, which is slightly on the heavy side for both.

I'm not sure which cartridge I'll take for elk and moose this year. I've always used Nosler Partition hand loads in .30-06, 180, 200, and 220 RN, with good results. I want to learn more about the 7mm-08 before hand loading, and I don't have the time now. I'm leaning toward going lead free this year, and should have picked up the box of Hornady GMX this afternoon. The Barnes Vor-TX TTSX 120 gr. gets good reviews for elk and moose on a hunting forum I frequent. But gosh, all copper rounds are pricey.

JohnnyEgo

Weird optical illusion as a biproduct of the shape of the round butt. It actually lines up perfectly with the back of the MSH, and is fully supported. I haven't taken a back-end picture of this gun yet, but here's what's going on back there with my Wilson, that has the same MSH:

I know what you mean. For me it’s tons of fun when the wheelies come out at the range. Between this .22 and my 1979 66 (mostly with .38 ammo) I tend to find myself smiling a lot more than with any other firearm I own.

Same here, I find myself much more excited by vintage wheel and lever guns than high-speed-low-drag tacticool (not that I don't still enjoy my EBRs and plastic fantastic pistols).

I have owned 5 thru the years including 3 all at once. They are the most requested to shoot by my friends. I am down to 2 at this point. Just got some accessories for it. I got my hands on one of the 24" barrels for it. It did not come with the correct muzzle break nor with the integral bipod. Picked up both this week.

I think I'll get the Gear Head Works charging handle, and I'm looking for a trigger upgrade. All the reviews on them have dead links because they're 4+ year old reviews.

Nice truck and topper! Now you need a BedRug for it. Easier on you and anything you haul in the back. When I pop for a new Tundra, or Tacoma, I'll get another BedRug without fail.

I made a Neu-Trigger stainless steel Trigger Slide wrap. It dropped the trigger from 10 lbs. 11 oz. to 8 lbs. 9 oz. It didn't change the trigger feel any. I tried it because figured I could make it myself and it didn't require modifying any parts. If I want to I can take it off and put it back to original in a couple minutes.

I installed as Corvus Defensio Brass Deflector on my NATO stock. It wasn't drop-in but only took a minimal amount of filing on the rear and a small notch on the front of the ejection port to make it fit. I ordered it direct from Corvus Defensio at 4am Thursday and received the following Wednesday afternoon. Not bad, only a week from Austria. I really like it. No ejected brass gouges. It changes the ejected brass from going back to the right to almost straight out the right. That may not be the best for someone next to you.

Exactly. I have a lot to learn about it, but so far, it’s looking good. The generator works, the microwave works, the stove works, the water / pump works, even the propane fridge works! The little old lady we bought it from (seriously) included linens, pillows, cleaning supplies, kitchen utensils, and a plethora of stickers of the Virgin Mary and Christ throughout the RV (which add a certain charm, and are staying). It’s certainly gonna need some work, but I’m optimistic so far.

Additions to my last “latest purchase”. New a/c and 7 new tires. Figured out today that the furnace and water heater work as well (didn’t think they did), but that there is a leak at one or both of the hot water lines. Shouldn’t be a hard fix, I’m just excited that more things work than expected.

Used it today while removing and reinstalling the transmission pan on my Chevy 2500, worked great. I bought it based on the good experience with it by a co-worker. I'll post more once I use it more.

It feels like it is built well and it has a lot of torque.

So far my only complaint is the battery doesn't have a charge indicator.
