Some very good spec on the hardware - tried to use it as an access point for hardware that does not have good WiFi - but it was no go for access point, or even home router.

Uplink speed was well below 100k....most reports would indicate 0 Mbytes. There was some transmitted; otherwise I would never had got to the website to check the speed. It would not even connect to my surfboard modem to use as a home router.

The Asus item back in the box; got the qr code to return it to Amazon.

I already ordered a Mikro Tek as a replacement. The hAP ax3 there have been some reports people getting the older version 2 generation so my fingers are crossed.

I hope Mikrotik has changed their UI/Config functionality. It used to be an absolute atrocity.

If it doesn't work as you hope, I would strongly suggest:
Router: https://store.ui.com/collections/operator-edgemax-routers/products/edgerouter-x
WAP: https://store.ui.com/products/u6-lite-us

You'll get way better performance from a divorced router/wap system than any integrated hardware. UBNT gear is way easier to work with than Mikrotik, in my experience.

Something I've always wanted, but will never buy at this point is an 8x10 view camera.

How about a 7x17"? I got deep into ultralarge format photography and platinum/palladium printing. At some point I'll be selling an entire system, from camera to darkroom.

I use UBNT gear at home, 3 AC-Pro, a USG, a USW-16-PoE switch and run the controller on my server. It's decent gear but good luck get any support from them for low priced gear.

They still haven't addressed the 6 month old latest release problems for the USG devices and I have a USP-Plug that is hot garbage. An uninformed prosumer that updates the USG without due diligence is in for a rude awakening when it doesn't connect to your ISP modem. Hope you have a good backup. Surprisingly some folks just have faith and do updates without verified backups.

I've been contemplating a UXG-Pro, but their feet dragging on fixing issues has put me off some. Otherwise great product. LOL

So now I will have a second one of the above.

I do like the Asus router s/w when it works - easy to setup. What I really wanted is dd-wrt software but that is not going to happen either. I still have two low - low end routers on "G" using dd-wrt that have been running non-stop for well over 6+ years.

For most people; they should just run away from the HAP AX2 (lack of dual freq), or just how how complex it is to set up outside a simple primary home router...it has one or 3 features I like; and max wifi speed is not one of them.

Items that need true high speed will not be using this router in a wifi mode. For that I do have a few routers with SPF+ cages if I need real speed. My goal is to get at least 50MB speed; heck, even at 25MB speed I would be happy to use it supporting some of the slower devices connected to this hardware.

Some neat hacker level built in things is the ability to really inspect data streams and chart how much what band / channel is in use.

[added] - unboxed the new router today and ...,

I guess I did not get 2 routers that are 100% the same I guess. I got one locked to US of A and another non-locked. The one I received today was very fast to setup but has a lower license type and was not locked other than some higher end features not supported due to the difference in licenses.

What I really loved is when I spotted my other router (non-wifi) on the neighbors list and logged into that switch. I had a few what the heck until I spotted that I had not logged into the box I thought I was logged in.

The speed test did indicate that the the HapAX3 was as fast if not faster than the Asus hardware. Going to make me go Hmm. The Asus has a much better software interface and has some real useful displays. While the HapAX3 has some real hard core network features built in.

Costs have certainly gone up a lot.

This slab cost me almost double the same size one in 2006. $5900 for this until we found wet clay under thanks to all this fkn rain, then had to pay an additional $400 for roadbase.

The patio addition was a $450 add-on.

The guys did an awesome job. I can hook you up for a quote if you like. They've done many in the neighborhood here and they're all holding up great. 4K psi fiber mix.

After a bit of a search, finally found the perfect Camaro. 2000 SS, 59k, LS1, 6-speed, big cam, heads, exhaust, etc made for a 460rwhp recipe. Not the fastest thing on the road, but not the slowest. Put a new radio in it this week and picked up a 4.25? Springfield Prodigy. Added a Steiner MPS and TRL1-HL to finish it off.

I swapped I upgraded two of my WiFi routers to the Asus 3000 series....found the same issue with slow transmit when configured as a media server my exist Asus router. However; when I hooked the same router in a similar method - "poof" it worked. Pain in the back side until I figured out how Asus software was causing me more issues than I liked. And having more than one Asus router on the same subnet caused other issues.

Picked up a 1988 Colt Combat Commander that had been modified at some point in it's life. I've always been a sucker for the old two-tone look when it became really popular in the early 80s. No idea who worked it over but it's a hell of a shooter. I changed the rear sight to a Harrison Design retro rear (it had an old school MMC fixed prior), had some crappy plastic grips so I found the black wood factory set on Ebay, had a proper trigger swapped in from the ugliest damn flat thing I've ever seen, put in a Wilson's checkered mainspring housing and I swapped the original bushing for one from Nowlin that has a littel bit of a tighter lockup. I want to put a proper beavertail on it but the frame, eletroless nickel finish, was cut to .200 instead of the standard .250 for all the other bt safeties. Very easy to carry and I'm just having a ton of fun on the range with it. Have a proper holster on the way from Palmetto Leatherworks.

One of my wife's boys has a John Deere 336 square baler that we're gonna get. Just need to find a way to get it up here. I don't have a trailer large enough to carry it nor do I have a way to get it off the trailer unless it can roll off. But I think he's gonna borrow a big equipment trailer and deliver it. We'll see.

So the only thing I don't have is a mower. I'm looking for a good deal on a PTO driven sickle bar mower since that would be the least expensive way to go. And we only have about 9 acres so that should be fine.

I have the rake. I think it's really cool. 60s vintage Oliver 207, 5 bar, ground driven rake. The guy I bought it from replaced everything on it, painted it, and then sold it to me for a song.

The problem is my trailer has rails on it and the baler won't clear the rails. So wife's son is trying to find a flat bed trailer. The only issue I have with this particular 336 is it's wire tie instead of twine. Wire is 3 times the price of twine.

there are a couple of other things in one picture too. What is going on the floor?

Like how you caught the planes in the background, what are those? One kinda looks like a C130.

Both are C130s from FE Warren.

It does look like his is peeing. However he has a small tool belt on and he was digging for screws in the pouch.

Ain't that the hard truth. In reality, we own nothing - we just pay for it and hold onto it for the government.

The bank (Wells Fargo) sold our mortgage and told us they'd take payments until Aug 3rd. We decided enough was enough and we could afford to pay it off, so that's what we did. I guess there was a positive to the Mrs. not letting me buy all of the guns I want and putting the money into our account "just in case".

We're taking the money in escrow for taxes & insurance and starting a new savings account. We'll put $300/month for starters into that account and adjust up if needed to cover future taxes and insurance as it comes due. Something tells me I'll have to increase that to $400/month in short order.

WF sold my mortgage as well - to Mr. Cooper. I guess they don't like small, low interest mortgages from responsible borrowers.

PITA to setup the auto pay from the bank to them fka Nationstar. Happened right when I was making a hail damage claim too so that's been fun.

Degenerative or other damage?

Was that done laparoscopic?

I'm flirting with replacement surgery sooner or later. Been doing jello injections for quite a few years now and the one knee is bone on bone, damn osteoarthritis.

Degenerative or other damage?

Was that done laparoscopic?.

I ran a minimum of 105 miles per week throughout high school and college and then four years ago had a severe hyperextension while helping a friend move hay bales. I think mine was a case of just plain worn out. Neither parents had any ortho woes so I'm not sure why I've had so many visits to the OR.

This one was done via the (now very common) "Mako robotic knee replacement" method. In lay terms, they bolt a robot onto your shin and that assists in replacing the knee. The scar on my shin is about 1" long, the scar over the top of my knee cap is 6" long. I'm told the actual time involved to do this was about 35 minutes on the table. I was home several hours later.

Every patient seems to deal with this differently. I found the first two weeks after surgery to be unpleasant but a 79 year old friend of mine had it done a week ago and he is not experiencing any of the discomfort that I did. I quit Rx pain meds three days post-surgery and quit using a walker at 2 weeks post-op. It's been six weeks now and if I consciously try, I can walk without a limp but I have to put my mind to it. I go to PT 2-3x/week and have a laundry list of at-home tasks that I do each day for my knee recovery.

I was (slowly) mowing my lawn two weeks after surgery.

My knee had gone from happily doing 14'ers to bone-on-bone so it wasn't a case of "maybe I should do this", it was more a case of "if I don't do this, my activities come to a halt".

As to years on the odometer, I'm 56 but the knees have gone through a lot in those years. I'm not sure what role that hay bale to my knee four years ago played because my right knee (for now) is totally fine but the left knee needed upgrading.

I will need both done eventually.

After high school, I didn't join the military or go to college, I decided I was going to race dirt bikes! And I did- very poorly.

My most recent surgeon told me to put it off as long as possible since the replacement materials have a finite lifespan.

He said the recovery from the first one isn't bad but getting a second replacement in your 70's or 80's will be tough.

This likely has changed with different techniques and materials.

If anyone is considering a replacement, please do your homework. Lots of get-rich-quick butchers out there and many debates over what materials are used (plastic vs metal).

I had a metal replacement 1.5 yrs ago and I'm experiencing real problems. Appiontements are 2 months out because they are too busy maiming new patients.

Sounds like a possible metal allergy. If it is, there's limited options, none of them involve another replacement.

For those considering any surgery where a device needs to be used, consisting of metal. Do yourself a favor, spend the $600 for a metal allergy test. Orthopedic analytical (i'll check the exact name later today) does a blood test that shows what if any allergies one has, prior to getting replacements. You'll hear Oh those allergies are 1 in a million, because surgeons do not want to admit there's an issue. I asked the one surgeon. If it's 1 in a million, explain how the specialist i am dealing with had 1/2 doz. patients in the office with the same issue?

Anyway, save yourself the possibility of serious side effects, like amputation and spend the $$ for the test. I will not say it's a major issue, however 2 ortho places out here have now offered that testing, based on my own experience.

Well I almost ruined a countertop today with my sh*tty 30 year old skil saw. The arbor (motor shaft) is walking around so much it won't cut straight. Guess it's just worn to a nub. Probably didn't help using it to cut landscape blocks.

Ordered a new Dewalt. More than I wanted to spend for my needs, but I hate buying really cheap stuff these days (like that old skil saw).

Building the wife a new craft room setup that is lots of Ikea. They have some pretty hefty laminate tops that are about the same price as their sh*tty lightweight tabletops. Carrying the 98" 100 pounder upstairs by myself was fun.

Heavy duty laminate does peak my interest just a bit. I am not sure if that front edge lip is right - or - I am missing something.

Not a big fan of black; but that top does look nice. It is about 1"+ too deep to use it for my heavy duty shelf that I use for my basement computer. If it was a bit smaller I would have did the trip to Denver to see it myself.

My big buy is a heat sink for my laptop SSD drive I just installed 10 mins ago. Insert shinny copper strip of metal that cost about $21.00.

It was needed for installation of the drive to secure it in place. A bit of a royal pain to find out after I opened the case that that bit was not already installed. You could not order from Dell, and it was hard as heck to find the part numbers for the heat sink and special mount "t". ordered on from Amazon and had the hardware installed.

At the same time I installed 2 memory cards to max out the laptop ram. I am running a memory check on the device to make sure every thing is happy.

To be clear, it's "hefty," not necessarily heavy duty. Still 1000 time better than the wonky tabletops they offer. Only the front edge is rolled over, the back and ends are sharp. It's finished on all edges (bottom is paper) but they include 2 pieces of laminate for the ends if needed. I cut 2 to length and ripped 3" off another to fit in a space behind a door. I possibly could have gotten something suitable through HD or Lowes, but it was convenient and we were building a bunch of Ikea for the room anyway. I may add one to a secondary work surface in my office.

The tabletop I got with my new Deskhaus sit/stand is heavy duty formica brand laminate with bonded edge band. Couldn't justify spending on solid wood and for my use case, it would just get wrecked anyway. They had a sale bundle and not many colors left to chose so I went with this.

https://desk.haus/cdn/shop/products/DESKHAUS_BLACKRIFTWOOD_CLOSEUP.SWATCH_7defecaa-f5aa-492f-8fe2-7ac9439595ab.jpg?v=1651254283

The new office setup is a whole nother project with a seemingly endless barrage of pieces and parts and "stuff" I've had to order.

new monitor (I'll have 2x on my home PC and 2x on my work laptop)
new dual monitor arms (2x)
new monitor task light
new case (gotta be black now)
new case desk bracket
new USB/flash drive bay hub
cables, cord adapters, 10Gb SFP, etc. it just never ends.

That Ikea counter top would work; currently I am using heavy duty cardboard over the heavy duty metal wire shelf. For me a quick fix would be to find a HDF board - but shipping cost dwarfs the 12 dollar price for the material. The black color of that Ikea counter top would work perfect with the black color of the whalen shelf I picked up at Costco.

I broke down and upgraded the Windows 11 home addition to the Pro version for under 40 dollars. Upgrade was fast and took a few reboots as the system re-configured itself. The install of the second SSD drive gave me impressive drive to drive copy speeds.

We needed a LOT more storage space and covered parking for the vehicles. We also needed $$ for those things. Since we really didn't need such a heavy pickup I sold my '17 F250 6.7L to a dealer in the DFW area for $10k more than what I paid for it 6 years ago. I turned that $$ into these with a tidy amount left over for other things (electrical, insulation, etc...). We're pickled tink with the building. The pressure tank on my domestic spring water system failed so I bought a larger 44 gallon tank. The connections were all different and much better than the old one, but the old tank had a handy mount for the pump so I left it in place. The line runs through two 5 micron filters before the UV sterilizer, then to fixtures upstairs. This is in the enlarged crawl space. Next job for a later day is to bypass the UV for the outdoor hydrants. The untreated water is still safe to drink, but the UV offers more protection. The system is fed by a spring, all pipes buried underground, that runs 30 gallons per minute. About 19 million gallons a year. Free water but for the electricity to run the pump and UV light.

Amateur plumber, I built everything myself.

After trying to figure out why my primary computer was getting down right slow after when I
started to run a game. I was thinking there was an issue with the video card, them computer powered off.
My next thoughts went to power supply or even the main boot drive. Lucky that I noticed the post code on the
mother board and figured out it should be the CPU heat sink. The dead giveaway was when
I tried to spin the fan by hand there was a lot of drag.

With luck the h/w will arrive this Sat; so I guess I have my plans set.

I would head over to MicroCenter in Denver but they had only one CPU heat sink in stock for
the AMD4 socket that cost almost as much as the CPU I have. The CPU heat-sink I bought
is not bleeding edge designed for high thermal load. But then the AMD CPU I have is not the
heat monster so it well within its ability. It should be significantly better than the OEM fan
that came with the processor which is almost impossible to get.

96866

So, one thing led to another - the old computer is toast - well; at least the CPU is...seems some
dolt managed to forget to take off the plastic shim on the CPU, and thus fused the cooler to the CPU.
It seems like more than a few pins on the CPU are toast and the motherboard is 2+ generations out of date. AM4 socket versus the AM5.

But the good news, I did manage to get over 3-4 years of use before that error caught up with me.
I had a bare bones computer that setup for another project that was OBE. At least I can raid
the old hardware for the hard drives.

And yes, I am the dolt[facepalm] - I remember reading the instructions and they said to do something stupid and I did.

Most Natural Gas in ND isn't flared anymore. It was a decade ago, and still is when there are problems, but that's not the norm. After the boom up there, it was taking longer to get the gathering pipelines in the ground than it was to get a pad drilled and producing, so they just flared it. Now, they aren't drilling anywhere near as fast, so the midstream companies can keep up with the new pads and interconnects.

The NOAA photo is likely showing pad lighting that is on all night, industrial LED fixtures.
Your video was posted six years ago, and is a small pad flare that was used until gathering systems could be built. They can still be used in the event that pipeline pressures are too high or there is H2s in the gas that they want to get rid of.

Flying into Williston in 2014-2015 at night was surreal. Flickering fire light as far as the eye could see.

If that video makes you mad, this will boil your blood:
In 2012, I was working as a contractor in the O/G world and a single customer of mine with ~300 pads in West Texas flared more NG in the calendar year of 2012 than was used in the continental US. It was so cheap per MCF that it wasn't worth gathering with all the existing NG gathering/processing already in place at the time. This is also no longer the case with the EPA and the greenie hippie bitches making energy extraction more and more difficult across the nation.

arbol
09-05-2024, 18:29
I'm very happy to learn that is probably LED lighting... but OMG if it isn't. Truly extraordinary.

My brother is in Oil and Gas, and when I showed him this he said... well, look at West Texas if you want to really see what is going on.

West Texas' footprint is nothing like North Dakota on satellite...

So I still wonder, but thank you, I now have hope. :)

I picked up a nice computer for $130 - and added a sweet 1/2T M.2 drive.
It even has wifi built in.

The hardware is one of the newer CM5 - Raspberry PI systems, only 4 gig of ram. However,
this photo does not show the m.2 drive I picked up from Crucible. I could not find
the 8 gig available which would have made it a perfect little portable machine running
at full speed. I picked up the basic hardware from Spark Fun just outside of Denver.

On the install I went with the power CPU cooler, and removed the case fan. I am
running with the default speed on the M.2 drive. I can get a bit more performance
with a minor configuration file change.

I picked up a second one; dropped the wifi to reduce cost and it works pretty good.
My intended use was to upgrade my old DNS/DHCP server. I nixed that when I found
out that the hardware I was using was just fine, I had a firmware update to my routers
caused some 3 - 4 latency hit, which looked like issues with the raspberry pi hardware.

I was able to fix the latency issue, with a firewall config change. If I read the bug
report from the router folks; yep - we have a fix in beta that should fix the problem. The
firewall rule changes were pretty cut and paste between machines to make sure
all the hardware was safe.

So it works well right now browsing web pages, playing tunes, works ok running the
open source office. Another fine use, is as a eBook reader. Mostly from Amazon via
the browser, or calibre software.

Until this generation of hardware for the Raspberry PI, getting and M.2 drive working with
the Raspberry - made it a bit more expensive than I would have liked. I could have found
a low end throw away Intel NUC computers could have been cheaper...

Thanks, Sawin. The color is called Army Green and I'd put a big white star on the doors if I'd served in the Army. The new Tundra and the Lance trailer are awesome together. The Tundra has all the advanced tow features. I would have much preferred a 6.5' bed but this is what came up used. We weren't keen on paying $75K-$95K out the door for a new Tundra of our choice. We paid $62K for the truck w/10,750 miles including a 4 year warranty and 2 years services. I think we got a good deal and were lucky I saw the ad at 6:30 am Saturday. I said, get dressed, we're going to town! (The truck had just come in on a private lease trade Friday evening.) Four parties were on the way to see the truck in Boulder including two fellows from Wyo who weren't happy when they saw us drive away with it.

I plan to replace the tonneau cover with a Leer topper and a full BedRug. It makes for a clean interior space and I have a heavy duty utility trailer for hauling lumber, gravels, etc.

The trusty '03 Tundra is now listed on Craigslist: https://boulder.craigslist.org/cto/d/ward-2003-tundra-4x4-v8-one-owner/7838437370.html

Do not use anything other than a genuine & original (not re-manufactured) Samsung water filter into that refrigerator or it will never work right again. Ask me how I know.

I have a similar make and model. If it comes with the built in water pitcher inside don’t, DO NOT, put it in the dishwasher. It will distort the plastic and a replacement ain’t cheap!
So I have heard…….

Finally got to shoot them today, I don?t know why I didn?t get into the Shield Plus earlier, as the original shield was always the best shooting of the micro pistols for me, I just couldn?t get past the capacity vs the 365. In my opinion, the Shield plus is the best micro on the market today. As for the 10mm, also the best shooting 10mm I?ve shot (owned G20 and G29).

That M&P 10 is the funnest pistol I?ve ever shot, the recoil is enough that you know you are shooting a tack driver, but it?s so controllable and a pleasure to shoot. I need to start reloading again because this could get expensive at $22 a box for plinking ammo.

Thanks! This was a rebuild of a 10.5" upper I assembled in 2019 with a BCM quad and YHM mount, I wanted to make it a bit visually lighter and snug up the fitment. I changed out the handguard, installed an adjustable gas block and replaced the YHM Resonator K with an OCL Polonium K mounted via Keymo.

I present to you the mother of all food processors:

https://www.johnnyego.com/dump/cake/foodprocessor/foodproc01.JPG

The Breville Paradice. I have lusted after this thing since the Sous Chef two models ago. You could send your kid to college for what this costs, but my kid seems more interested in the trades anyways, so he'll be fine.

https://www.johnnyego.com/dump/cake/foodprocessor/foodproc02.JPG
https://www.johnnyego.com/dump/cake/foodprocessor/foodproc03.JPG
This thing comes with more attachments than a 2-gun tactical ninja's wet dream. It will slice, dice, shred, and puree it's way into your heart. It is gross overkill for all your food prepping needs and takes up more kitchen space than a mid-sized right whale. Which it could blend.

https://www.johnnyego.com/dump/cake/foodprocessor/foodproc04.JPG
I could get a second job disposing of bodies for the mob, which would at least offset some of the purchase price. It will dice a femur without a hitch.

https://www.johnnyego.com/dump/cake/foodprocessor/foodproc06.JPG
It will replace my old Cuisanhart food processor which was overstuffed and underperformed for many years. As you can see, there is no middle ground for me with Kitchen appliances.

I have used it to process lemon sugar, make pie dough, biscuits, custom peanut flour, and all manner of baking tasks.
https://www.johnnyego.com/dump/cake/foodprocessor/foodproc05.JPG
https://www.johnnyego.com/dump/cake/foodprocessor/foodproc07.JPG
https://www.johnnyego.com/dump/cake/foodprocessor/foodproc08.JPG
https://www.johnnyego.com/dump/cake/foodprocessor/foodproc13.JPG

I diced up potatoes for breakfast hash for 68 boy scouts and their parents, as well as making fruit cups and dicing up 18 onions and 7 cucumbers without breaking a sweat. None of that remotely justified the cost, but I don't care. Some day my grand kids will tell tales like 'Pop Pop sure did love his food processor', but I won't know who they are talking about and will possibly be in a memory care facility. But the memory of this food processor will stick with me after all else has faded to black. And some day in the distant future, I hope it will blend my cremated ashes into a light and flaky pie crust to be served to my enemies unknowingly, that they may choke on my remains.

Breville makes some good products. Is that a lemon Bundt cake?

JohnnyEgo
05-30-2025, 13:15
It is a lemon bundt cake! One thing I really like about the food processor is the ease at which it makes lemon sugar. Just peel the lemon with a potato peeler and food process it with the sugar until it all turns damp and yellow. Makes for a strong lemon flavor without the acidity of the juice, which weakens the batter. My old food processor had a 1 cup capacity, and didn't do a great job processing the peels. The Breville will atomize them.

I made peanut butter cookies the other day where I food processed six ounces of honey roasted peanuts into the flour, in addition to the peanut butter. They were the most peanut flavor intensive cookies I've ever had. Anyone going to the 1911 shoot in October will get a chance to sample the goods. And I will put you a plate in the mail, Jim, but only if you win your shoot. Peanut Butter Cookies are only for winners.

well; this new toy used a lot of spare parts, and was not until today I had a good OS installed that
activated the 5 gig nic. I had used Debian 12 for a few days before I noticed that the new version
of this Linux distro was about to hit.

99213

I slapped an AMD Am5/R-7 processor + 64 gigs (2 sticks), recycled m.2 and power supply.
I am running of the graphics from the process with good results. The display is an
old 24" ultra sharp - which performs quite good. The processor is new / but I decided
that the other build I am working on would not be as good as a fit than the ryzen 9.

I just installed Debian 13 today and after a bit of fussing the nic works fine (used a usb->cat 5).
No wifi - but I rather run this via hard line. The motherboard is a MSI 850 Tomahawk series.

I will need to dig out the angle grinder to tweak the BluRay writer tray for the top bay so the
bottom 3.5" cage does not hit the CPU fan. The drive is hidden by the top flip down cover fake
floppy drive. Even the low(er) profile Noctua CPU cooler was too large.
Based on the documentation I should have had like 20+mm free space. Na, the document lied..

The lower floppy drive cover hides the USB and head jack.

I did not like the included 3 pin case fans, so I opted for the lower end Noctua.

This machine might end up replacing my old desktop machine that I have been using since
Windows 7 Ultra first came out.

It is pretty fast for something that sort of looks like an old style 286 class computer ;). I have an
older direct x-12 8 gig video card I can stuff into the box if I need that sort of thing.

I did notice that the Prusa slicer seemed to be running a bit faster than the other Window machines
I use.

I've been wanting to get a kayak for several years for both fitness and to allow me to get away from others on the lake when I'm fishing. I knew the features I wanted, but getting those for the price point I wanted hasn't been easy. I know you get what you pay for, but for my first kayak I wasn't going to spend >$1k. While at Bass Pro Shops a couple of weeks ago I found the one I wanted and for Labor Day it was on sale ($50 cheaper for "Club" members). So, yesterday I made the leap.

Already have a new auto/manual inflation vest and the paddle (adjustable length carbon fiber with a lure recovery hook) should arrive today. I guess I still need to get a "Coast Guard approved" whistle/horn or air horn.
