Mostly so the car didn't look buck toothed anymore.

The drop is about 1.7". The car corners a lot better now, but the springs are noticeably stiffer, and I can feel the road more. Hopefully they'll soften up a bit with time.

Not likely. I originally dropped my MINI with springs and then I upgraded to the entire coil over package. The springs were super stiff and dropped about 1.2 inches. Since the coil overs are matched with shocks, the ride is much smoother while still achieving the overall lowered effect.

It looks good!

I'd like to know how the installation goes and over satisfaction of the product.

Jer
07-23-2013, 12:35
I remove all my striker plates & hinges in the house and replace the 3/4" screws that set them into the cheap door frame that splinter super easy (most people are amazed to find out how easy it is to kick in a door) with 3" or longer high grade screws that set the striker plates into the 2x4's that actually hold the door frame in place. This is a great way to make it much more difficult to kick your door in. This product looks like it does something similar but transfers the force across more of the door & frame. $79 is pretty steep IMO and my method costs only a few bucks and anyone can do it. Not doubting this product just pointing out that there are far cheaper and easier steps that most people could take today to secure their homes a little bit better.

i have allways done the way Jer said. its quick, easy and cheap. this time, I went a step further. Doing what Jer described will help alot.

and for NewRacer.

installation took less than 5 minutes. probably much less.

i installed a new door, new storm door. then after all that was done, I added this product.

i bought it now thinking it would be easier during initial install. nope. it would be just as easy for any existing door.

Nice! From what I read it just goes over the existing jamb. Is that correct? It doesn't close the gap too much?

They make good stuff but I would suggest checking out www.coloradoholster.com and have Steve make you something similar. It's local, great quality, his turnaround times are obscene & he's a board member here too. I have several of his holsters and after dealing with the big names I won't get holsters anywhere else now.

Roberts Hopper and Terranasty. Got a bunch of these from Blue Quill Angler in Evergreen yesterday and killed it at "the lake" with them last night. Landed the first Rainbow of the year from there, plus the usual 17-20" Brownies.

...if you haven't tried this style of belt clip for OWB I would HIGHLY recommend it. It sucks into the body more and stays put better. Kind of the best of IWB and OWB combined.

I need to hit him up and see if I can get the clips separately and hopefully build in some can't with them as I spaced that when I ordered originally.

He usually does the same mounting locations for all holsters so getting a set of these shouldn't be an issue since he has a jig that he builds them all with so they match up. I got to be the guinea pig to test a few versions before he settled on this design because I'm pretty hard on holsters/belt clips for some reason so you're looking at the first pre-production prototype of this version of belt clip. Hit him up and get some of these things and you won't be disappointed. BTW, I'll see if he can join us at Grimm Brothers a week from tomorrow. Who knows, if he has time maybe he can make up a few sets beforehand.

woke up Monday to no water in the house...had pump company come out replace the pump (friggen $1100 later)
later that day found out why the pump died... leak in the bladder and pump was running non stop (it was also 26 years old with expected life of 15 years I'm told). Pump company wanted another $750 to replace tank. I ordered it online from homedepot for $252. It should take me less than 30 minutes to change out on Saturday

http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p92/jtehan/photo_zpse4c04ef6.jpg

so as a cross reference to the Trades thread, that's $1000 an hour to install the expansion tank (unless I'm under thinking what's involved in cutting a couple pipes re screwing in fittings and sweating a couple pipes)

No.

A shoot through that completely covers the gun has to be registered as an AOW.
However, the one pictured was deemed to show enough of the gun that it doesn't have to be a class III item.

Stihl MS 271 with an 18 inch bar. Lost a couple of trees in the storm last weekend. I debated this purchase because how often would I need it, but in the end, for less than someone would have charged to clean up the trees, I did it my self and got a nice saw to keep.

It made bucking the trees so easy, this goes into the "one of the best purchases" category.

I like that fat pipe. I'd like a new pipe someday. Is that thing with the brass on the end some kind of custom tamper? Yeah it's a tamper I made with a oak dowel and 45 ACP brass. Nothing too special, made 8 of them and gave some to a few friends. The pipe was made by Craig Cooper of pipe and pouch. He lives in Parker and he's a bit of a gun guy to.

Just received and installed the rail (Centurion C4 12"), foregrip, front sight, light, and light mount. It's BCM 14.5" mid length upper that I cut down the FSB on a S&W M&P lower I built. Will be getting shot this weekend along with its brother in the second picture. Brother is a BCM 14.5" Carbine length gas with the SOCOM profile barrel on a Spikes Tactical Lower I built. The rail is a Centurion C4 FSP. 3268332685

The only picture I have is what I posted above. Doesn't do a real good job of showing how far they stick out but it's pretty close to the same as stock since it's only an inch further put. I think it's more to clear the UCA than for looks.

Get the 1-4x and be happy. It's good to have something that's universal (mil dot or other) and not a BDC. I'm not a fan too much of the BDC reticles.

I just put it on the gun today so I haven't shot it yet. But messing with it around the house it seems pretty versatile, good quality glass, easy turrets and magnification ring. I'm gonna ring it out a bit on Sunday so I will have more to say after that. I'm really looking forward to shooting this setup and showing my friends with SCAR-H's what a good rifle can do.

I used to buy motorcycles with the same idea in mind. After a decade or so I came to the realization that I rode the damn things all the time for fun & went on road trips that I otherwise wouldn't have. Net result was probably a break even on the mpg front but I finished way ahead in the fun category. [Beer]

I wasn't going to say anthing, but....

Say you now have a $200 bike payment, and $25 a month on insurance. If you are saving $30 on gas a month riding that, you are still spending $195 more a month than you did before. Not to mention all the extra gear you should purchase, the added maintenance cost with another vehicle. I try and make people aware of that point before they buy a bike. Yes you are getting 40mpg vs 12, but the cost over time, it would have just been better to spend the extra on gas. So unless you got the bike for free, you aren't saving any money on gas, and actually spending more a month in other things.

But I told the wife I needed a bike to save on gas as well. :D I am bummed I got rid of it. Loved it.

I did indeed. In fact, this is the only pic I have of it, stolen right from the Craigslist ad.

The good about subsidizing the gas costs... Already had the gear, I'm old and married so the insurance is about $19 a month, but now the truck insurance is cheaper because of less miles per year, and I paid cash, so no monthly payment. I would have just blown the cash on guns and ammo anyway.
