Just an ALG Combat trigger, searching for a geissele that works with 9mm bolt.
That's why I chose to use a 9mm lower that uses Glock mags. The mags are easy to get and work great. The bolt from Angstat Arms uses a standard AR hammer and works with the Law Tactical Folder. I have an ALG QMS trigger in my lower now. I don't like it so I'm switching it out in about a week.

Mags are not a problem for me. Milspec triggers all work with my setup, I'm just spoiled after using Geissele and MBT.

I hear you there. I have Geissele triggers in my carbine and SBR. They are sweet. If Mil Spec triggers work with your setup, why won't a Geissele work?

Nah, that'd be too much work for something that wouldn't make any money. We did see a pretty rough accident on Saturday night coming back from the airport (girl said her arm was broken) and it's long passed time for the work ride to have a dash cam installed.

Here is a preview of the dash cam. This was taken before I hid all the wires and figured out that you can program the display to turn off. I'll post updates to both projects in appropriate threads when the time comes. When the display is off, the mirror looks like normal and the extra size is pretty nice. It comes with a lead wire that you connect to your reverse light so the rear camera turns on when you go into reverse. There is no GPS or speed on this model, just the date stamp. There are parking modes and shock sensors that will turn the camera on if something hits the car while parked though.

Do you lose any auto-dim feature your original mirror had, or is it built into the new mirror?
This slips over the entire mirror, so you'll lose all of the functions of your original. There are no fancy functions in the new mirror that I can tell. My mirror is just a basic mirror with no functions. You can still tilt the mirror like normal. The dash cam mirror has a blue tint to it that seems weird at first, but once installed, you don't really notice it, especially at night.

LaRue MBT + TAC Combo, picked it up for $99 plus $10 for the LaRue A-PEG grip.
I do like the feel of the trigger, definitely a good deal on a great trigger.
A little bummed, didn't get ANY LaRue goodies in the box... was looking forward to getting a beverage entry tool and maybe some dillo rub... but no goodies for me.

I'm about to find out.
Makes an A video (front) and a B video (rear) with full view in each video with no overlay. While it doesn't look like you can read plates or street signs while in motion, if you pause the video you can.

Finally picked up a NATO strap for the gear S3, it's a cheaper variation, but I wanted to try it out before buying a more expensive one, also came with a black strap. Wish I would have gotten one sooner, very lightweight and super comfortable. Also the knockoff Luminox watch face is new.

Ordered two XM gray anodized Nodak Spud Uppers, lowers and charging handles on July 24th 2016, received May 10th 2017 so the order took 10 months to fill. Almost as bad as waiting on NFA goodies.
The first picture is the Items received from Nodak, the second is how the Nodak lower matches my previously completed A1 upper. I am happy with the color match under the lighting in my house. I will have to lo see how they look under natural light tomorrow.
Now I just need to chase down some A1 parts to finish out the lowers. I will have to retake these pictures in better light tomorrow.

Got one, too. One of the PSA deals...after 6 weeks of taunting me with that Shield + 3 stripped lower package deal I relented. Sold the lowers...after that and the $75 rebate I have about $220 into the Shield. Pretty hard to pass up even though I have no need for it.

It's called a "Magnum tanto XII", appears to be made by a San Mai, in case anyone was wondering what it is.
Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
Specifically it's a:
Magnum Tanto XII
San Mai III (steel)
Cold Steel made in Japan.
From what I can find, it was made from 1998-2006 in limited quantities.
And the Cold Steel video, just because.

For a retirement gift for a friend. He's retiring after 42 years of service, and has a cabin on a heavily wooded lot in Missouri. I wanted to get him something he might use there, so I bought him the ax and a bottle of bourbon, along with a card advising that the order of operation is very important. Anyways, I know jack about axes, so I axed Google, and it turns out there is a multitude of axe forums. The most common recommendation was the Gransfors Small Forrest Axe, so that is what I bought:
http://www.johnnyego.com/dump/ax/ax02.JPG
http://www.johnnyego.com/dump/ax/ax01.JPG
The ax nerds told me it was the best in-between axe; small enough to be comfortable carrying all day, large enough to limb moderate sized branches and split smaller logs. These are apparently hand-made in Sweden, and the guy who makes it stamps his initials on the blade. While they are fairly pricey based on my limited knowledge of the axe market from browsing Home Depot, it is a very pretty axe in person. Makes me want one for myself, although I have gas heat and very few axe needs on a day-to-day basis.

^ If I needed an axe that would be my first choice. Great gift !!
That brand (Gransfors ) is one of the best out there. The size is a good all around, tho I could see a need for the full size one + a camp/hunting axe. For full time tree felling, I would start to think of getting the Gransfors American Forrest axe. For mid winter use in Minnesota, I would use a different style axe...something made by stihl...or maybe Council Hudson Bay.

Very nice gift. I was given one as a gift 10 or 12 years ago. More of a hatchet, though...only about 10 1/4" long. Razor sharp, same leather sheath. I can't bring myself to use it as it's more like a work of art than a tool.

Yea I agree, I wanted the gun in black as well, but at the time I bought this FDE was the only thing available. I'm not much of an FDE guy, but this one is rubbing off on me. I've thought about recoating the entire thing something custom, but it'll stay as is for a while.

I meant I dig the FDE but I wanted that exact stock (they've got several different ones now) but also in FDE so that the entire firearm was FDE. It doesn't look bad with a black stock at all though now that I see it.

It's a fair weather driver, and getting to be a collector car. I'm not going to ruin it by swapping in any engine that doesn't belong, or irreversibly modify it in any way. I may do another 302W engine, but it will still be a street engine. All the emissions are going to be left intact along with a working A/C system. I've seen far too many of these cars get ruined by people who have no business being anywhere near a wrench.
This car is by far the nicest Fox I've ever seen, and I've been chasing THIS car for 20 years. It drives like it's brand new, and everything works. The interior is immaculate, and still has a hint of new car smell.

I just told him the truth when he asked me what I ordered: "A bunch of lead weight"
We have five steps leading up to our front porch. Any time my wife or I order something even mildly heavy, we find our packages tossed on the first step. The last time I ordered ammo, it didn't even make it that far.
This time, I watched him struggle to carry it over to me while I was working in the garage. I told him to just put it on the front porch. He gave me a pretty surly look, then told me about how his hand-truck is broken so he's been having to hump all the items to the door without assistance. I don't have much pity.

Good advice if you're building a home on acreage where you plan to stay for a long time!
Here's the links:

What will grow well has a lot to do your local climate, habitat, elevation and water availability. As Newracer said, most fir and spruce like more water and cooler temps so they'll do better in the mountains. Eastern and Western Red Cedar grow fast in arid climate and are better wildlife trees. Also look at Bur Oak, beautiful tree, drought tolerant and fairly quick growing.
We planted ~850 trees and shrubs outside Grand Junction, mostly as bare root stock and seedlings to build a wildlife shelter belt. It's a pretty rich forest now.
Besides the junipers/cedars and bur oak, we like pinyon pine, Arizona cypress, hackberry (slow), buffaloberry, mulberry, mountain mahogany, golden currant, Nanking cherry, chokecherry, three-leaf sumac, and New Mexico privet. All are low maintenance and great for wildlife. Good luck!

I will want to plant a variety but will definitely need a snow fence for sure. we have anywhere from -24 ambient to 90* in summer. The wind will be my biggest challenge since its anywhere from 5mph - 60 sustained gusts to 70+
If I could, I would love a lush Pine tree Forrest. maybe toss in a couple Sequoia and Red Wood hoping that they tower over the pines.

Ah, like a bow-flex bow.
Hopefully its a little more than that. Keeping the laser dot steady on target while you hold should be a great simulation for the real thing.
Work has kept me so busy lately I haven't been shooting my bow enough and hunting season is fast approaching!

I just picked it up yesterday. Haven't had it to the range yet. I was using the previous version and love it. But, I became a Walther fanboy ever since I bought a PPX because it was so cheap. I decided to upgrade while the $100 rebate was on. Also because I mainly carry in either a Desantis Nemesis pocket holster, or an Alien Gear Cloak Tuck. The pocket holster will still work and Alien Gear does free shell swaps, so there was no holster cost either.
Now I own the PPX, PPQ M2 Navy (wearing a Gemtech GM-45 occasionally), PPQ-22, PPS M1 (which I'm selling here), and now this PPS M2.
FYI - this is the cheapest I've seen it: https://www.gunbuyer.com/walther-pps-m2-black-9mm-3-2-2805961-wal2805961-gb.html/ $356 with free shipping.

P.S. - I'll add that for only $50 more than the Shield deals, I personally find this to be a far superior handgun. The trigger is way better, and the fit and finish just seems better in that German engineering kind of way. But that's all personal opinion. Try one before you order it.
(I can meet at Blucore one afternoon if you'd like to try both M1 and M2)

Thanks, I have a leveling base, and I am going to try an idea and see if it works. If not, then will likely get a ball-head.
What a beautiful rig! I have a Tucker Answer for my G27, but it's not about pretty.

After a 12 1/2 months wait, my stamp came in. It has to be a record for .gov efficiency in processing some papers and doing a background check. First impressions in the forest by the house, without hearing protection it's soft shooting like a .22 CB cap. Very dirty brass but noticeably reduced recoil. Very nice! This is going to be fun.
You guys are responsible for this. You, and Obama, and Hillary.

Mine has been used to cut 1x .308 and 2x AR-15 lowers already, and I like it. Honestly, the shop vac attachment option is well worth it.
I don't like their bushing as much as I like the guide setup on the 5D, but overall it turns out a fantastic product.

Soooo...an awesome warrior who is retiring soon from the Army bought his wife an H&K VP9 for their anniversary. I asked him if he got her a holster for it yet. He said, "No, I tried, but she refuses to get anything in black". I asked her what she liked, he said, "Dolphins and the beach". Well, this is what I made for her. I shipped it out today. He said she's gonna be super excited. Definitely the most "artsy" holster I've ever made.

This week I 71770Installed a new HTP 45 indirect water heater which takes heat from the hydronic whole house system to heat domestic water at 4-5 times the recovery rate of a typical gas water heater. Pretty much continuous hot water. It has a stainless steel tank surrounded by an unjected foam jacket. It replaced a 23 yr old Rheem I bought from Sam's Club and installed in the house we built in 1994-95. Not bad service, I replaced the anode rod at 6 years and two thermocouples in 17 years.
I think we have another water heater replacement in the not distant future. The unit in our cabin where we live is a Montgomery Ward Signature 30 gal. propane water heater in continuous use since March 1965. 52.5 years. So far, so good. They don't make them like they used to.
