It's solid and great like all Moras, but it was a drunk shopping mishap and I'm not 100% sure what on earth I'm going to use it for.

I just got one these. Do you really have to ask why besides SBR?

JohnnyEgo
01-08-2017, 00:18
The problem is that SBR is such a mixed bag on these. It's about $450 just to press in a tri-lug barrel, not including the cost of the barrel. Aside from the cocking handle and forearm, I'm not real sure what other parts I'd want to replace on it to get it into 922r configuration. By the time I added the paddle mag conversion and the B&T stock I like, I'd have another $1600 into it. At that price, I could just buy a Zenith which I wouldn't feel bad about replacing parts in the least, and which already comes with the tri-lug barrel. Swapping out all the HK parts feels like buying a brand new Euro sports car, then ripping out the drive train to replace it with American aftermarket parts. I'm sure with enough money it could be made to drive the same, but it doesn't feel like a good investment of my income.

I went through the same train of thought at first about the barrel. I was actually convinced by my girlfriend that I don't need to suppress it. She's lefty and doesn't like shooting the MP5s suppressed, because of blowback, but is in love with shooting them. So I got talked out of replacing the barrel. The paddle is nice but isn't a huge deal to me, though I admit on my other MP5 that's what I always use. In the end you have a German made MP5 which, until recently, has been very hard to get. I love that HK started making these available. It took me almost three years to find my first German made MP5, guess I might be still suck on the mystique of that factor. I'm on a major SMG kick and think these are awesome.

I went to midway usa to pick up a few of the odd ball OEM magazines for the fantastic plastic Glock and Stoner's little fun toy. I am at the some assembly and buying additional parts phase on both projects. I wanted a few of the low cap state allowed styles if I take the toys out to a public range.

The wife found me this book while we were at Barnes and Noble last night. She makes me proud. It should make for a long and interesting read. I'll probably do it in chunks to not get lost in it. This volume including includes the full texts of:· On Civil War—Benjamin Franklin
· The Boston Massacre— John Hancock
· The Declaration of Independence
· Common Sense—Thomas Paine
· Articles of Confederation
· The Federalist Papers—Alexander Hamilton, James Madison and John Jay
· The Constitution of the United States of America
· The Bill of Rights
· Farewell Address—George Washington

I ordered them from their online store last week. I used to subscribe to FuegoBox and get 3 random bottles of hot sauce shipped to me each month. The "Ghost of Ancho" sauce was in one of those and I thought it was pretty good so I looked them up. I'm happy to say that it is actually the least favorite of the 3. The habanero ancho is probably my favorite flavor wise. The reaper sauce is good and pretty damn hot but I wouldn't consider it "play jokes on your friends hot".

HB Industries Micro/K length. Had the barrel cut down a couple of inches & threaded to 1/2x28 to complete the Micro/K conversion.

Is that a gen 1? If so which suppressor mount did you use?

Yep, Gen 1. See previous reply as she takes standard 1/2x28 suppressors now. I do have a barely used SiCo adapter I won't be using anymore that I'll need to sell if you're interested.

When we moved into the Bailey house we sold last year there was an old, dusty, crusty Farm Boss in the barn. It was old when I found it. I put oil and gas in it and it fired up on about the 3rd pull. Used it every winter for the 13 years we lived there and Stihl have it.

The stories, the drinks and the shots

||: I know of a reason, the drinks and the stories

will probably be forgot

Kazoo and companions, theGinsue and Hoser, TheGrey and all the rest

Explained the myths and the legends, traditions, processions

Of the smileys, chainsaws and the jests
Then HBARLeatherneck (Dude, what the heck?)
Screamed "repost!", so they made them a sticky
And then was no reason, despite harvest season
To gather, to learn and to grow
And besides if we scheduled

It would probably be cancelled for snow

.060 kydex?
That is a good looking holster...with WAY too much retention. I know that having the super detail looks nice, but it shouldnt have that much. Draw is not going to be smooth and it WILL wear your gun.

Retention is actually not bad at all. The detail doesn't affect the retention on this whatsoever. The kydex won't wear your gun that much as long as it's clean. I've seen leather holsters wear out a gun a lot faster than kydex. I completed several draws from this holster without any issues. Also, I'm not too concerned with holster wear. It's a working gun, not a safe queen. [Coffee]

The front is .060 and the back is .080 thickness. It fits tight to the body and very comfortable. I wore this around for a bit last night and love it.

How did you get that amount of detail without impossible retention? Did you form it, then relax how close the pieces are to each other?

I'll try and post a video of me drawing from it. That way no one thinks I'm pulling their leg. Generally I play with the trigger guard using a heat gun if I need to loosen up the retention.

I tried and missed several times over that weekend. I actually got it into my cart once before and then apparently took too long to enter the payment info and it went OOS before I could complete the transaction. Then I thought I missed out completely, but decided to check the link again and it was in stock and let me check out. Got lucky.

Yeah...not for everyone. I really like Kel-Tec guns. Most of them. Love the SU-16 guns, the PF9, the RFB and the CMR/PMR guns. The others I really don't care about. Although the little .380 is a pretty easy gun to hide.

I've been wanting one of these ever since I heard of them. I like the hell outta my RFB...this one will be easier, and cheaper, to shoot and it's got a great trigger. I'm diggin' it.

Picked up a 13.5x1 lefty metric piston for my Osprey 45 the other day. To my untrained aesthetic eye, the lines compliment the X5 nicely. I am not sure that I'll use it that often, as I already have two other 9mm pistol cans in the same thread pitch, but it is certainly nice to have options.

Those are awesome! If the HPA passes, suppressors will be flying off the shelves. I'm thinking about picking up a Gem Tech booster and building a 9mm can if that passes. I built my own rifle suppressor and it runs like a top.

You must get REALLY hangry.

You don't want to see the Girl Scout (burp) cookie binge we did the other day. 3 boxes of tagalongs , 2.5 days of binge worthy snacking. Would have been less time, but they need a day in the fridge for optimum snack temp.

You're supposed to clear them by row, not box.

Should have bought more. On the clearance table at Lowes for $5 each.

Lettering is upside down for residential I guess, (ground down) but I can't see that without glasses anyway.

Picked up a couple more watch faces, here is my favorite so far:

https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170205/9ab54de5236cfdce044d3c6b4a3dd500.jpg

You can change the background design, as well as the color on the hour numbers, and the color of the digital time readout. This watch could get real expensive with watch faces and bands (takes any standard 22mm band).

Also shown is a tempered glass screen protector, was a bit leary after reading some reviews of fitment on various brands, but these ones fit great.

Mrs. Hummer needed an AWD car--the old 2WD Corolla didn't cut it for getting out of the driveway or commuting on the snowy mountain roads. The 2017 Highlander is in metallic jade with the new saddle tan leather interior. The high tech features are amazing. Heated steering wheel, heated and air conditioned seats front and back. Very nice for cold country. Took a drive to Estes and Rocky Mountain National Park today just to get acquainted. What a joy to drive!

I think thats about the only difference. Congrats and welcome to the smoker's club. We got rid of our gas grill after using the Traeger for a bit. It just cooks things so much better. It does take a little longer for things like burgers but I've never had a bad meal off a Traeger.

Well I finally reached a point of not mooching off my dad's tools. I have some semi major work to do on a few projects at home so I decided to start building my own tool collection. I've always had the luxury of using quality tools being that my dad was a mechanic for 15+ years but we all have to start somewhere. After searching around for a week for the 'perfect set' Harbor freight prevailed. I chose this over the Craftsman line because it came with almost everything I needed, plus more. The closest Craftsman's tool kit was $111 and did not even include a 10mm wrench..

Harbor Freight especial. 301 PC 'mechanics' tool set for $159.99. I checked out their tool boxes as well and I have to say, I was pretty impressed. I've been checking Home Depot, Lowes, and Sears and the HF seemed much better quality.

Yes lifetime, no hassle warranty. It breaks, you walk in and grab a new one off the shelf. I figure harbor freight is going to be around longer than Sears anyways so Craftsman might be hard to warranty. I actually did order a Craftsman tool set off amazon and comparing them side by side, the Pittbsburgh tools felt better. The cost for the CF was $111 with prime shipping for the 201 piece kit and the HF was $159.99 with the coupon code for the 301 piece kit.

My Sig 1911-22 (GSG) and Mosquito (GSG) run well, but I goofed and bought both long ago without thread barrels. NP for the 1911-22, just an adapter. Not so for the skeeter. None to be found and not worth it in the end as I could just buy a GSG FireFly for $200.

Found one of these local and decided to pull the trigger on a nicer .22 pistol. I guess everyone is wanting the bronze with the giant holes so this was still available after being advertised for a few days.

Not sure yet on the tupperware frame, but the takedown sure is sweet now.

As of February 28, my oldest son turns 19. Therefore I am no longer required to pay child support. Nice chunk of change coming back...so, I bought a truck. 2006 Ford F150 XLT (4WD), 5.4 Liter V-8. I got it at Auto Nation in Centennial. Great deal and a great truck. Never owned a fight sized truck before. I'm happy with it and it runs like a top. After the damage my ex did on my credit, I'm happy with the deal they gave me. I'm not a big Ford vs. Chevy vs. Dodge, etc. guy. Just happy I got a truck. [Beer]

Yup, TBAC 22 Takedown in jail at Tim's.

Picked up a 10/22 tacticool mounted in a Magpul stock and a grip of Gemtech here in the TP two weeks back too, so I don't have to dink around with threading or a different barrel. :D

A friend's MKIII 22/45 eats everything.

FWIW, Reloading Zone had lots of .22. I passed on the CCI subs, seemed a little pricey. If I wasn't pressed for time, I would have spent more time browsing. I told them they need to pretend the BGC takes longer than it does.

The upper is an aero Precision enhanced upper. The handguard as part of their proprietary handguard line. It is a 12-inch handguard. On a 16 inch barrel build, it makes the 308 rifle pretty light.

I'm not sure what it is but it seems the upper to lower fit on the 7.62 AR's seems better and more consistent than their smaller counterparts.

I'm curious if that's because of the uniformity across the AR-15 platform. Versus the fact that there is not a crazy amount of uniformity across the AR-10/LR 308 platform. Perhaps there is a little bit more room for error built into the smaller platform.

I built a 308 AR with an Aero upper and lower. The lower has one of those built in tension screws and I didn't even think to move it so it touched the upper as mine locks up pretty damn well as is.

Honestly, the looks were a huge part of why I went with Aero Precision.... that and their 10% Mil/LE discount. I haven't shot it yet; however, the fit and finish of the rifle is amazing. I thought about doing a PSA 308, but after finishing my Aero rifle, I'm glad I went with AP.

I just order a mag release and trigger from those guys!

With that grip did you or do you feel a need to swap out the right side safety?

Lucky you.

We're still paying off my wife's and son's school debt.

I only took out a few thousand dollars before I changed to part time school, full time work and just paying as I went. It was going to be paid off by the end of the year even at the normal payments, I just had the cash so I decided to wipe it out.

The upper is an aero Precision enhanced upper. The handguard as part of their proprietary handguard line. It is a 12-inch handguard. On a 16 inch barrel build, it makes the 308 rifle pretty light.

Agreed. They are pretty light. I built a 14.5" using aero upper, handguard, lower and lpk, a jp barrel, jp low weight bcg and buffer system and a larue stock and trigger. Then used a aero mount and march 1-10 scope and man that thing is light and manueverable.

I'm not sure how match scopes do it. They have a 10x magnification variable in a 30 mm tube and nearly 50 percent lighter than competition. And excellent glass. It's crazy.

Traded off the 07' 2500 and moved into a 3500 dually. The old black truck did me right and never left me stranded, but it was time for her to retire. I needed something with a little more ass to pull the new fifth wheel. The new truck is by far the fanciest truck I've ever owned.

That sucks. My 05' was a beast for 5 years and 100,000 miles until I was t-boned, the 07' was great once I deleted everything. I would have kept it if new trucks weren't so damn expensive.
