I have some pretty serious scars on my back from falling down and going boom.....on pavement.....at a high rate of speed......

day after the injury, my then-gf (now wife) is trying to show my mom how to remove bandaging from a wound that was still oozing and the bandaging had sunk in.

My mom just ripped it off. It was about two square feet of skin that got ripped off my back. I'm not afraid to admit that I punched my mom straight in the throat for that.

Can't remember where I left you all wondering about me: knee surgery went well with only minor complications - tear was much larger than MRI indicated, recovery is going quick and I'm walking again with no limp, physical therapy sucks but is helping me regain full use of my leg, sold my LCP yesterday (first gun that I've sold that I think I actually kinda miss - but only until my M&P40c arrives), bought an M&P40c only to find out it will be delivered tomorrow evening, which sucks because my FFL is leaving town tomorrow morning for a week [facepalm].

Oh, and I got a description yesterday of the position I was recruited for and was informed that my name is already on the organization chart for the project under that position! They should be sending an email out this week to the entire collaboration about my interest in the position!

Thanks bogie! I'm well aware of Apex Tactical and plan on getting the RAM and DCAEK trigger kit, but only after I shoot it for a little bit. I am wanting to get night sights for it first, thinking Ameriglo ProGlo up front (green tritium with orange outline) and Ameriglo Operator Yellow in back. I thought about i-dot sights, but didn't like them all that much when I tried a friends' M&P9c out that had them. They're great for lateral accuracy, but not vertical.

I already ordered a new sear housing block to get rid of the internal lock and mag safety (got it that way so it wouldn't have the warning on the slide that says "warning this firearm may be fired with the magazine removed). The new SHB gets rid of the lock and magazine safety.

The enfield is heavier, but a more accurate rifle. I had one bbl'd in 308 . The only bolt action ( Mil surplus era) that was as accurate was a 8mm FN Mauser. I know guys in NE that use the .303 enfields for taking deer, consistently. The down side of an enfield is the extractor, AND weight. A springfield 03 is so easy to work on parts / acc and weight wise, it would be my choice, after an 8mm mauser.

Though I have a feeling my Fiancee will choose to shoot my M&P40c more than my Glock 23 due to the smaller grip.

My wife can grip my 40 just fine but she's not a big fan of it. The 40 might be a little peppy for her.. at least until she gets more XP. She'll stick with her 38 for now...

I have not bought a conversion barrel. No plans for it right now. Both pistols are pretty accurate, at least for my standards, the Pro especially. You will like the Pro model if you like the compact. It fits me like a glove.

Love my 03 and wouldn't trade it for an ugly british club for all the tea at Pacific Ocean market. Never shot a Mauser either, but I hear those can kick like a mule. The 03 is bad enough after a couple hours of shooting, with the steel butt plate and all...

They had a bunch in stock, and the kit was on sale for $69 something. It comes with media, polish, and a shitty separator that looks like a gold pan with slits cut out of it. I'm really happy with the tumbler though. This is what I ended up with..

I got a bad sunburn a couple months ago. My wife soaked towels in icy vinegar water and made a compress on my back. She did it until my burned skin was cold to the touch. That took all the sting out.
