We also shot an AR500 plate at 20 and 25 yards with an AR in .223. Not a target plate, the kind you put into a vest. Just to test and see what happened.

Yep, everyone lived. I was going to start a thread showing the results, but I realized that I'm probably 20 years behind finding out what happens when you shoot at AR500 steel. I mostly just did it to show my wife since she was the one who bought them all. I really thought the .223 would have torn it up more from hearing all the warnings about shooting steel closer than 100 yards; and with what .223 does to those cheapy spinner targets that are only rated to .44 mag.

Yes. I never would have thought of that. It was a long handle broom, but there were spots where it wasn't long enough. The tools are just stuff that general contractor guys had, so they were a bit busted up and not ideal. The guy driving the concrete truck definitely laughed at us a few times. Not for being on the roof, that was way later, but just us figuring out what to do in general.

Finishing flat concrete is an art, but you can get pretty decent with some elbow grease and patience.

Having some of the right tools (bull float especially, even if home made of wood) makes a HUGE difference...

I liked using the Folsom(?) at the end. It felt like the finish coat of drywall mud. There are a lot of areas that will be a permanent reminder of our first time, but the home owner and I are still happy about the end result. I purposely didn't take pictures of those.

That one was perfect for my son. 10' camper, room for one ATV (he has an old beat up 2wd quad), lightweight, setup for offroad use. He can tow it with his Durango.
