also, we've got a change of command that I'm narrating, so the rehearsal schedule is killing me. Apparently, I'm the guy with the golden voice because I've already been asked to narrate two other ceremonies. Our BDE csm told me, "Don't let anyone know you can handle the mic. You'll be the voice of the corps before you know it." Crap.

I looked at Cherokees too for a couple of months too. I could have bought 2 Cherokees instead of the 4Runner. One of my mechanics is a Cherokee guy so I'd been covered if I'd gone that route. I looked at Cherokees too for a couple of months too. I could have bought 2 Cherokees instead of the 4Runner. One of my mechanics is a Cherokee guy so I'd been covered if I'd gone that route. Cherokee's are good rigs, but you are right Toyotas are more solid, and much more comfortable. Safety and comfort were my main reasons for taking the plunge.

I would have much preferred a 5 speed, but as far as I know it wasn't an option for my truck. Maybe once the Taco is no longer on daily driver duty and is strictly toy/second vehicle, I'll do a tranny swap.

I had to admit my father to the hospital today, he'd not been feeling well the last couple days, but got worse overnight. Step mom called this morning, and off I went. He's got viral pneumonia and low BP, high heart rate...and a couple other things going on. I'm glad he's in there with folks to help get him right again. Yeah, I'm a little worried about this at his age, but Step mom is a mess......when I left the hospital I went and spent time with her, brought her some dinner and some of dad's belongings.

I hope everything turns out alright, I'm thinking it will.
