Too much personal info there.
Don't get me started. So the night I bought the car the salesman threw the folder that they keep in the car, into the trash. I grabbed it because I wanted the review on the car that was in it. Inside was an invoice from the dealership from the service center. On it it stated "Declined f/t brakes at 1mm". After the 500+ quote from Midas for the repairs and such, I showed it to them and they confirmed that that means they knew the brakes were bad and had not replaced them. This is of course after I asked three times when the brakes had been replaced and was assured they had been replaced in the last couple months. So I went in and refused to speak with anyone but the GM, he was in a meeting so the sales lead guy comes out and I explain that I felt like I had been deceived and taken advantage of and here was the quote from Midas. I told them this is what I want done because we have a serious problem. They left to go talk to the GM and then came back. They said we will replace the rotors and brakes and check the rear ones. I said the brake fluid is filthy and I want that flushed as well. So they came back with the paperwork to have the pads replaced, the brakes serviced, fluid flushed and the brake rotors resurfaced. I said I want them replaced, he said if they have a problem they will be replaced so I am going to get that in writing when I take it in and I want premium parts because thats what Midas quoted me for. So they are going to call me to come in to have that done, sometime this week.
I am mad, I will be less mad when this is all fixed and the car is running smooth.
Also, how does resurfacing rotors work and is it a sketchy pathetic fix? Should I just demand new ones? I need to know what I want from them, I know I want nice ceramic pads but I dont know about the rotors. Thanks.
The shitty part is that all the dealership has to do is get it running safely. Nothing more. That is why before you buy a car, you always take it to a mechanic you trust to have them go through it. The dealership has to get the brakes working right and safely, the GM knows that, you could have put them in some hot water if you knew the right people to talk to. Letting a car off the lot that has safety issues is a big no no.
Damn...and I was all about selling everything I own and moving to Trinidad. Nahhh...

The older I get, the more it affects me in the evening. Gotta do decaf now at night if I need a coffee fix. It's not too bad these days. Decaf used to be really terrible. Now, with the right coffee, I can't tell a difference in taste.

It's right by the muni golf course.. so if you're on 'main street' you're gonna head south down Sante Fe Trl towards the Holiday Inn, and Wendy's. It's a white dingy looking bldg. But it's safe to eat there... pretty tasty actually.

Last year while I was down there.. I had someone get uppity with me then attempt to reference his buddy... the Muni Court Judge.. I don't think I have ever laughed so hard right at someones face...
You'll find some good people down there too though.. I do have a few that I actually like. Basically just one family.. and a few randoms.. most everyone else I hate in that town.

And plan for the future so you don't come up short later on. You need to figure this all out so a proper size sub panel and feed can be installed.

you couldn't get the extra .006 in?? My OCD kicks in with random numbers like that i have to stop on something with less decimal places. this applies to most of my life except alarm clocks I always set the wake up time to an odd number usually ending in 3 or 7

Definitely. One of the best mods I ever did to that truck. Will do it to the next truck I build with the intention of keeping.

Very. Outside of it you couldn't have a conversation standing within 20ft of that thing... inside, you could almost whisper to each other.

I used Dynamat cause my buddy had a bunch at his shop so I got it at a good price and I didn't have to go very far for it. It worked pretty damn well. I've heard good things about Audio Technix though. I say go for the one that's cheapest or fastest to get a hold of, whichever you care about most.

After getting an Associates in Automotive Technology and my ASE certs, and working in various parts of the auto industry for most of my working life... I've realized that I really don't like working on other people's shit. By the end of the day I'm too burned out on it to want to work on my own shit, which is why I got into it in the first place cause I enjoy working on my own shit. Nowadays, I'll happily fix people's cars if they ask for help but doing it all day every day... uh uh.

I will be moving to Sin City (Las Vegas) in the end of November, right after thanksgiving. I got a new (ish) job, doing the same as before just a bigger facility
Well, that just sucks. We need to meet at least once before you go!
Of course, rumor is that the interwebz works in Vegas too so you will be able to stay active here once you get settled in over there.
I've got family (wifes family) in Vegas. Even one that's a major 2A/firearm guy. Tht and the wife has been wanting to go to Vegas for years. Perhaps I'll come by and visit some time.

Yeah, I was just wondering if anyone would need a paramedic if BYPC or this thread got pruned (it's happened a couple of times in BYPC since I've been here).
