Personally, I use CC to counter skimming issues with use of debit card since there's more protection offered (though I realize some financial institutions now offer this with debit cards), and to shop online. I pay off every month to avoid paying interest, not build credit.

Yea, I've pointed this out before, and practice it diligently myself. I NEVER* use my debit (Visa logo) bank card outside my bank or other major bank (if desperate) ATM, and avoid public ATM's.
That said, Amex for pretty much everything, and where it's not accepted I either chose to do business elsewhere, or use my UA Mileage Plus Visa.
* I did use my debit for a down on my RV when the dealer wouldn't take my Amex and hadn't forewarned me to bring a check. In those cases, I know 99.9999% there's no fraud.

I've been open carrying my airsoft pistol in my tool belt while I work on this chicken coop in the backyard because a hawk keeps coming around. Since there has been a ton extra food in the yard, a Robin has been making an appearance and ever since you posting about Robins, I've been tempted to shoot at him.

I guess in doing it wrong...I use debit card for everything. They have alerted me twice to someone trying to use my card #s. Instantly cancel my card, ship me a new one, and review all my card usage with me to see what I'm not responsible for...

I bought a receiver and soundbar for my RV due to the massive suckness of the factory mobile head unit and ceiling speakers, and expected a little more cooperation with HDMI.
I'll be replacing the ceiling and outdoor speakers soon, but wanted something a little closer to surround without actually installing the full gamut of speakers.
I'll make it work through my harmony hub/remote, but HDMI-ARC really should support volume control from the source.

Left them inside one day when the weather was bad. They got bored and let themselves out of the pool and shit everywhere all day. They are in the garage now. Very nice to have that back room back so I can (theoretically) continue to put the rest of the house back together.

Yeah, I told them I would send a link to the video. When it was found to be corrupted, I texted them both and let them know, and offered to provide testimony to their insurance companies.
Which cam do you have? I've got the KDlinks and if I touch it, it loses data. So I just bought a big enough card and I can just sift it out when I get home. Even driving for 7+ hours a day, it will still hold several days worth of driving.
Rexing V1. It was good for $100, but it seems like the videos always get corrupted if I turn off the car before before that clip ends and the next begins.
It also had an undocumented upper limit for SD card size. I had a bigger one in it, it stopped at max size and never overwrote older clips, so it didn't get the time I got rear ended and got the guy's description and plate.
I've heard good things about BlackVue cams, but those are all around $500.

All my stuff is damage claim, sometimes initiated by people trying to sell the house and the buyers inspector saying there is hail damage (that is almost never the case). This was a wind claim. There was wind damage, but you could hardly tell given the conditions of the shingles.

I thought about a drone last year, and might still buy one just to mess around, however, for what I do, they aren't that helpful. The roof in those pictures is the perfect example in that I was looking at wind damage. With wind, if a shingle isn't gone, it has to be either creased or have had a nail tear through; neither of which a drone would have helped with. You can see dresses on most shingles, but thermal cracking looks the same. There will be shingles that are cracked clean in half from thermal cracking, but are still adhered to the shingle below, so you know it's not from wind. With creasing on the pictures roof, you'd have to feel a break in the bitumen layer in the bottom side. All things that need physical manipulation. Same with hail in that nail pops look the same. Drones are great for overview pictures, and I think even measurements, but they'll never replace a physical inspection.

Insurance is using drones for catastrophe level stuff like we had last year. If a property is on the "zone" and is real, steep, or otherwise dangerous, a done is sufficient. Those are scenarios where of the is any damage, it is pretty much a total loss and doesn't need closer inspection.

Depends on the pilot, I know I could get down about 3-4" above that and pan.
What the big companies are doing is actually pretty idiot proof to the point that they almost don't even need a pilot. They give the starting location, then the drone flies a pre-determined square around the property, taking pictures at certain angles. That's what one company is doing anyway. With 4k video and camera, a drone could very easily zoom in enough, with enough resolution to see individual granules from what I understand. Really the only thing that they can't do is shingle manipulation. I think the tech exists for drones to even measure roofs as well. If Eagle View can do it from satellite images, I don't see why a drone couldn't. Along the same lines, it seems like it'd be pretty easy to overlay stuff directly onto video or photos as well. For example you draw a 10x10 test square when looking for hail. If the drone can make measurements, I don't see why a program couldn't overlay the 10x10 square right onto the image (like they do with stuff on the field when you watch football. Then all the photos can stay consistent with what insurance companies require for inspection reports. Could even circle hail impacts and stuff. I think you could make a lot of money if you could write a program like that. A lot of companies are spending millions of dollars to do the same thing though. The industry is still young and you might be able to break into the market running inspections on a contract basis. Some companies are sending their adjusters to become FAA certified or whatever, but a company that does just that and is ready to go for the insurance carriers would be pretty attractive to them I would think. It'd be just like my ladder assist job, but even easier. Just show up, fly around and take pictures, email the report, see you at the next address.
I've actually started studying for the FAA Suas rating but haven't tested yet. The problem with writing the program is I have no coding ability at all. There's a shit load of apps out there for it but I'll I've used is DJI go and Co-pilot (let's you give a camera view to another device). Also one of the downfalls of the Phantom is no zoom, I think the Inspire does zoom though but at a base of $2500+ I haven't gotten to play with one. As far as mapping goes there are a lot of programs out there and some add on hardware (about 3k) to map farms for drainage, over saturation, dry areas and good crop.
If the wind isn't kicking when I get home this evening I'll take some close up shots of my roof to give you an idea how close you can get providing the elements are in the pilots favor.
Btw I hate going to the DR. Pulled something in my left elbow / forearm and I've hit my shitty pain threshold. Hopefully the 800 mg IB helps, I hate PK's but being able to move my arm without the butthole pucker would be nice.

Got drenched at work, fifth wheel busted on the tractor, had to swap to another one for the day, hooked my set in the wrong order, had to drop it all and put it in the right order, locked ths keys in the truck at the truck stop in Wyoming and had to pay $82 to a locksmith and got home late again (after 5 pm) for the 2nd time in a row...hardly any personal time the past few days. grrrrr. Some of you may remember that I did a handstand and my M&P40 compact came out of the holster and landed rear sight first on one of my knuckles while my hand was pressed flat against the concrete. I don't remember that fondly at all.

I ripped off my big toenail changing a spare tire while wearing sandals.
Whilst pulling the tire out from under the truck, my toe was in the way and got caught by the tread.
Also counts as a dumbass moment.
Kinda painful too.

Shortly after it grew back (took 9+ months), I lost both big toenails to "runners toe" bruised nail beds, even though anyone who has seen me knows I no longer run. Those are just now back to normal.

Different company owner but crew I believe is the same. After all the crap we as a site and membership put up with from Shadow ops and even with the intital spin off company as IP's here on the site (yes they at one time where IP's here), I won't ever do business with any of them. Good on them if they got some issues straightened out but I'll go else where.
