I dig how Irving is looking out for all of us.. :)

Got all my stuff for the Baked pasta with sausage and spinach hoo ha.

rigatoni pasta
pecorino romano
ricotta
shredded mozzerella
spicy italian sausage
garlic
spinach

Should be pretty yummy.

some of the better OTC italian sausage we've had out here is Boulder sausage. Another one is Susie Q's? out of larkspur. Wallyworld carries it. They make a good brat too.

I've heard some good things about the Boulder Sausage products, but I was in a damn hurry and ended up with Johnsonville for the sausage this time.

The neato thing about recipes is ya can mess with them after the first try, and doctor it up the next time around.

And hear me now, I grew up in GB, WI and lived in Sheboygan, WI and Milwaukee for a period. We know brats.

Trying a tweaked bread recipe today. When I worked at Beau Jo's as a kid, the dough recipe had black pepper and honey in it. I put that into my no knead dough and it made it super stretchy, almost runny. The rise was a lot higher. My last batch of bread was the best by far (450 degrees instead of 400), so we'll see how this one turns out. I'll snap a pick of the risen dough before and after going into the oven.

Before. Looks good so far, we'll see how it holds up.

Wish we had done it back in 2000 when the subject first came up for us.

I just want to let you guys know that the transmission job is about 80-85% completed. The transmission and engine are firmly secured together at this point. Now I just need to jimmy the transmission just right to attach the driver rear mount, then hook up everything else and re-fill a couple fluids.

I should have been shooting a pistol match, but it got canceled. So we made pancakes from scratch instead. Now I'm getting cleaned up to go watch Walking Dead at a friend's.

However, instead of jamming out to Pandora like usual, this time I watched (listened in the background) to a 6 part lecture series by Dr. Neil deGrausse Tyson. Good stuff.

Steam punk has been around for a while, but I don't remember if it came after Wild Wild West, or is what inspired that movie.

The continuation (kind of) of the Mistborn trilogy is kind of steam punk.

I think it's bigger as an artsy picture taking thing than it is a media genre (movies/books), but I'm not 100% sure. The whole idea is how the world would look if electricity had never been invented. The most mainstream (and only) movie I can even think of is Wild Wild West with Will Smith.

I think for all of us.

Since my direct supervisor wasn't part of the exercise, he feels that I wasn't paying any attention to him during the exercise. My reply was, "I was part of the exercise. I was decisively engaged with everything going on there, and thus was unable to complete everything outside those four walls."

That went over like a turd filled balloon.

If he felt left out, I can't really blame him for that. I'd feel left out, too. However, I would then try to make myself as relevant as possible to the organization so that I didn't get put into a corner and marked 'useless' . . . .

I guess he and I just have different ways of thinking of things.

Just trying to get dates out of clients that can't get anything done internally (ready for my arrival) is a challenge. Sorry to attempt to derail the reloading thread, but has anyone ever put jerky on a smoker instead of a dehydrator? I just put a bunch in marinade this morning.

Yes. Try some in there. What type smoker? I do them on smoke only setting in the traeger 2-3 hrs, then in the oven. I'm also using Unique for my 38spl loads tighter crimp then usual.

Kazoo!

In a pressure cooker (mine only goes to 10 lbs).
1 1/2 cup of water, add preferred seasoning (from the hip) and bring to a boil.
Add one cup of white rice.
*Bring to pressure and cook for 8 minutes.
When timer is done, remove from heat and release pressure.

*I waited to start the timer until I bought it to pressure, which was only a minute or two, and a lot of the rice was burnt to the bottom of the pot. It think you should start the timer as soon as you close the lid.

Anyway, try this out for long rice. We've cooked about 15lbs of a 20lb bag of white rice this way and it is great. Next up is learning how to use the pressure cooker to cook dry beans.

Interesting, mine took 5hrs.@ 225 . Used a mixed blend SW sells. The cooking time for me varies compared to recipe time. Tried wet marinades, had better results with dry rubs. Bartering for another smoker, sold the traeger yesterday. Good thing we cook in bulk, have 5 - 10 days of leftovers in the freezer.

Roll back got me this morning. I was confused seeing different times. Baby crying, me sleepwalking, dog pawing my face, dreams of stadium brats.

My last pork shoulder I did stalled for 2-3 hours alone.

I didn't pay attention to stall temps. it' looked good and was falling apart . Small items i'm good at. The larger stuff is still a learning curve. I almost have brisket down.

Woke up at 230 and put the pork on. It's currently stalled at 155 degrees, smoker is at 240. Looking to get the meat to hit 200 degrees by noonish.

Hello HC....

just catching up on the board, haven't been on since Friday night. Great pic of the kiddo BTW.. :D

Fixin' to start getting breakfasts and lunches together for the week. Chicken breasts, scalloped taters and vegetables....and the usual eggs/beaters, hashed browns, and some kind of meat product...lol.

Looking forward to the Dead tonight.

What's happening in your world today?

Baby threw up last night and at first I laughed because it was pure chocolate. Then she continued to throw up about every hour all night long and developed a fever. It's not funny anymore.

Um, Dylan sucked. Hard.

Gave him a 2/10.

1 for showing up
1 for growling out two nearly incomprehensible sets and one short encore

I had major trepidation going into it, but a friend had it on his bucket list.

I'm on the 5 and 1/2 hour sleep program. Been doing that for several years now, I'm sure the toll will be paid in full, later in my life. Time is a nasty fucker.

Sometimes you spend it where you want to, instead of where you should have been spending it...... Doing things that can/will hurt you now, and later....instead of doing things that will help you now, and later.
