Monday is mountain biking somewhere above treeline, early again so I can be down before the T-Storms start popping.

Tuesday would work.
Randy works that day and I have to meet Jim... And we all know what happens when you stand up Jim....

I love those, their colors and they are so quick.
I don't know if I want to go shooting with you.... You might throw a spider on me...

Tell Jim to come down, we can all supervise him. :)

I watch the bugs after I'm done picking up brass and reseting targets, we do cold range every 20-30 minutes, less if we're the only ones there. I will make you run to the 200 line can back though, driving is for weenies.

Vinegarroons are carnivorous (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carnivorous), nocturnal hunters feeding mostly on insects (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Insect) and millipedes (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Millipede),[2] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thelyphonida#cite_note-schmidt93-2) but sometimes on worms and slugs. Mastigoproctus sometimes preys on small vertebrates (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vertebrate).[2] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thelyphonida#cite_note-schmidt93-2) The prey is crushed between special teeth on the inside of the trochanters (the second segment of the "legs") of the front appendages. They are valuable in controlling the population of roaches and crickets.

Yup, exactly! They'll give you a heart attack when they surprise you, but they move slow and they eat spiders and scorpions, so they're good to keep around. They always show up in my garage in the summer, haven't had one in the house. But they're about 3" in length and are definitely scary looking.

Okay, thats not as bad as a Glock or other double stack. I carry my Ruger LCP (similar in size to the Walther PP I believe) in a Crossbreed Mini-Tuck. It's extremely comfortable and whenever I carry it after carrying my Glock 23, it completely disappears and I forget that I am wearing it.

And if you have time to wait and are patient enough to look at a website everyday, checkout http://www.crossbreedseconds.com/ You have to "reserve" a holster if you find one that works, then mail in a check, but they're a good $20-30 cheaper than buying them brand new.

I don't much care for Glocks. I'll look up Crossbreed Mini-Tuck. Maybe it's just that the whole idea of concealed carry is new to me, but I'm acutely aware of it on me. Having it in my waistband makes me kind of nervous. But it also could be the holster is just digging into me a bit.

No worries, getting used to concealing my Glock 23 took some time, mostly the butt of the gun sticking out of my shirt no matter where I have the holster. It still does it too, makes me want to pickup a G27 for every day carry.

Yes, if you are new to carrying it will take a while to "forget" that you have it on you. What you need to focus on is put it on in the morning and don't touch it again until bedtime. If you are constantly fidgeting with it, people notice that. As long as it is properly secured in a good holster (in both materials and what you are using it for), there is no need to touch it.

The crossbreeds are most popular for comfort. Then again, it also depends on where you carry at. If you are looking at appendix carry, crossbreed sells a different model specifically for that. If you carry at 3 oclock, it should disappear completely in the mini-tuck.

For the record, I'm 6'2", 160lbs with a 32" waist. I can conceal my Glock 23 in my crossbreed super-tuck rather comfortably. Granted, I still know it is there. For the past 2.5 years, I have been carrying anytime I leave the house (not everyday due to working an odd schedule) and at the bare minimum, have my Ruger LCP on me either in iwb or in a pocket holster.

Very true, I'm a perfectionist too and noticing that my Lee Auto Powder dropper is starting to wear in and is dropping larger charges than before. What used to get me 3.8gr (exactly, well, plus/minus 0.04gr max) is now close to 4.0gr. But, I'm not that worried, they're pistol plinking rounds and 4.0gr was the second most accurate charge that I found so it's still good ammo lol

What is most of your clothing? I used to wear slightly tighter cut shirts (i have the type of body that needs a medium shirt for the shoulders, a large for the length, and a small for the waist - most of the time a medium is good but tight in the shoulders), but have recently found some polos that fit much looser all around and allow more ease in concealing my G23.

Ah, that sucks. Didn't you just buy an RCBS kit? I'm using Lee everything so far (except the scale I guess) and so far, its all been great! And are you solely reloading rifle? If so, weighing each charge could definitely be more beneficial, but pistol is a little overkill and I'm of the opinion that its CDO, in alphabetical order like it should be!

For work, I wear suit pants and either a cami or a cowl neck top with a jacket top.

Outside of work is much less of a problem, because I dress in don't-see-me clothes (jeans, tshirts, etc).

The major problem is that most clothes are made from pretty thin material.

For work, I wear suit pants and either a cami or a cowl neck top with a jacket top.

Outside of work is much less of a problem, because I dress in don't-see-me clothes (jeans, tshirts, etc).

The major problem is that most clothes are made from pretty thin material.

Ah, so you're a woman. Checkout some videos by Falia Photography: http://www.youtube.com/user/faliaphotography

Are you more worried about printing or the shirt riding up and revealing the pistol?

Ah, that sucks. Didn't you just buy an RCBS kit? I'm using Lee everything so far (except the scale I guess) and so far, its all been great! And are you solely reloading rifle? If so, weighing each charge could definitely be more beneficial, but pistol is a little overkill and I'm of the opinion that its CDO, in alphabetical order like it should be!

Rifle only for now. .223 and .308. When I get the dies and components I'll be doing .38/.357 for revolver.

See, I just can't fathom sitting there reloading hundreds of rounds of 9mm on a single stage. Bolt action and revolver on the other hand I can handle.

Thank you for the video link! I'd checked on some sites dealing with CC for women, but was a little unimpressed by the reliance of belly bands and purses.

I'm not too worried about the shirts riding up; I purposefully choose longer shrts. But they're thin material that tends to show every bump and bulge. Is that what you mean by 'printing'?

I've loaded a little over 1k .40s&w on my single stage lee press. I can do about 100rds per hour and thats paying close attention to quality control. Then again, that's with batch loading so sizing/decapping/priming are done at a different time.

Yes. "Printing" basically means the shape of the gun being seen from under a shirt or pants or whatever...

No, it's my bad for forgetting that people sometimes think I'm male. It's no big deal, and I hope that my presence does not put a crimp in people's conversations. I'm prior military, I like guns, eat lots of red meat, work in a male-dominated field, and swear like a sailor. I'm just shaped a bit differently and don't have a Y chromosome.

Please don't let the fact that I'm female stop you (all of you) from being yourselves. I would rather leave (though I don't want to) than to be an inhibitor to the comaraderie and fellowship of this place. I'm no feminazi.

I remembered that we had gotten a slew of women joining the site recently, but couldn't remember the names, I was thinking TheGrey was a woman, but still had to ask. Once she said she wore pant suits and cami tops, it kind of solidified it lol.

Yes, printing is either having the gun outline poking through the shirt, or being able to see the gun through a lace shirt (guys don't have this last problem). I've heard bellybands are good, but I don't think I'd rely on them for EDC. Watch some of her videos, if I recall, she wears some tight fitting tank tops and is able to conceal some larger pistols.

Sometimes, you just have to change your wardrobe slowly to accomodate concealed carry.

I tumble everything before decapping, but for .223 I tumble for 2 hours after resizing/decapping to get the case lube off and also clean out the primer pocket a tiny bit.

Well, womens clothing is much different than mens. I am tall and slender with wide shoulders and a smaller waist. So the thick width of my glock is very apparent on me, in that if you look closely at me from head on, you can see a slight bulge of my pants. My Ruger LCP literally disappears at 3oclock in anything I wear.

Also, darker colors don't print as easily or obviously, as light colors do. Other than that, you've got to find a holster that is comfortable for where you want to carry and then it takes some adjustment of the cant and depth of the pistol, then try it with lots of outfits to figure out what works and what doesn't.

I don't wear many light-colored items (it's not vanity, but practicality- I'm clumsy and constantly carry coffee. Dark clothes tend to disguise stains.) Designers have begun to make women's clothes lighter and lighter weight, for $everal rea$on$ : they are meant to layer, which means additional purchases as well as making the clothing even tighter on the body, it's cheaper material (but sold at higher prices) and because it's cheaper, it wears out quicker and must be replaced. It's damnably insidious.

As well as inconvenient for me to carry my gun! What were they thinking?

The occasional wolf spider quietly watching me in the laundry room makes me flinch, but then I shoo it out of the way. If I had Vinnie in my house, I'm afraid I'd be giving a war cry and stomping with my combat boots.

Haha, I know what you mean. My fiancee's clothes are so ridiculous thin and wear out all the time. I wear mostly tshirts and polos, and some of my polos are quite a few years old and still look brand new. Same goes for womens jeans, they're half as thick as mens, so they wear out faster.

HAha, just read up on it if you're slightly interested in it. If you want to shoot more, reloading is almost mandatory unless you have no expenses and make boatloads of money.

I'm reloading 9mm for $8.33/50rds, .40S&W for $9.50/50rds and depending on where I get bullets from, .223 is hypothetically around $5.50/20rds (not the best, but I haven't finished getting everything I need to reload .223 yet).

Heavy rain would be nice- the rest of the states are under water, and we're drying up for lack of moisture!

I will eventually be looking into reloading, but I don't dare look at another hobby (unless it's free) until we deal with some of our house expenses first.

I keep debating buying bullets (40 and 223), 4 pmags and 5 pairs of lee lock ring eliminators for my press - definitely spoiled by these things, or a few misc shooting things - adjustable charge bar, brass catcher for AR, 9mm case gage, pistol buffer tube.

Also, still haven't decided if I'm going to make my spare lower into a pistol or a rifle. I suppose I can throw a pistol tube on it first, and then its forever a pistol, then I can install a rifle tube on it, with a stock and have a rifle upper for it.

We've been getting an unusual amount of rain down in the desert where I live, but the past few days its just been threatening and raising the humidity.

Ah yes, house expenses/upgrades. We built some "fun" money into our budget, so we both get about $50 set aside each pay period to spend on whatever we want (it's actually transferred to our personal checking accounts). I use it mostly for reloading supplies lol. Granted, we both know that if things get tight or unexpected bills come up, then we dip into "fun" money before going to savings.

Our humidity level has gone up enough to notice, but no rain to really speak of.

Yeah, the problem with the household-repairs budget is that the cars get jealous and want money and attention spent on them...and that makes appliances feel left out...and before you know it, Skynet is threatening to take over the house.

I know this feeling all too well. First, our evaporative cooler dies, and while I was fixing it, we got a huge water leak in our front yard. Good thing my schedule allows me the time off to do these repairs myself. Saved us over $2k in labor of having the local contractors do it.

Expensive household problems feel lonely. That's why they appear in groups or clusters.
Good thing you're handy with repairs!

I'm considering doing something like that by changing out our light fixtures.

Granted, I'm hoping to change that as soon as I get her in to take a CCW class. Almost did it in May, but it was already too hot for her so it looks like we'll be holding out until the fall/winter.

We were somewhat close, there was proposed legislation similar to the CO bills, but after writing all of the state reps and finding out that it was only a select few that were anti-gun, there wasn't even enough people for it for it to succeed. That doesn't mean we won't face a federal bill of some sort again. I'm sure another mass shooting will bring the scum back to the surface to propose more legislation that does absolutely nothing to control gun violence.
