I was pleasantly surprised by the hot chicken and fresh, large, strips of bacon. A local told me I need to go back and try the frings. I think that is s fry/onion ring. I did go back to BisonWhiches sandwich place. Excellent sandwiches and cheap beer. Telling my wife we should move out here.

I thought the heat and humidity would get to me, because I don't like being sweaty. After taking a full body sweat shower every 30 min to an hour, literally 10+ times a day for the past two days, I'm finding it's not that bad. All that shit about "dry heat" is total bullshit. With this humidity, you just roll the window down as you're driving and it feels great, as opposed to Colorado where it feels like you're driving next to a blast furnace when you have the windows down. Maybe it's because my entire body is soaking wet that makes the air feel cooler though. Also, I can take the sun out here better. I had to get onto this big bastard, AND try and measure it. Little did I know, while I was climbing all over trying to measure and not die at the same time (climbing that second story hip up to those box vents while pulling tape for example), the adjuster just measured the perimeter of the house and sketched it out in 20 seconds. This was a 12/12 pitch all over, with the exception of one small portion just above the porch, and for once, the photos do it justice. The taller roofs get, the steeper they seem. The adjuster and I were standing down on the ground wondering if it was a 14/12 or even a 16/12, but it just looked steeper than it was.

This was taken while I straddeled that 2' 2" section of ridge in the first photo, looking off the other side of the house. The rafter length was 30' 6". The rope I was using is only maybe 14' long, so I couldn't have gotten down to that pipe boot even if I wanted to. Well, I could have walked, but I would have been completely unsupported, so that wasn't happening.

Since I have been flying since I was a kid I keep teasing myself with the thought of getting a DJI with thermal and doing house scans (heat escapes etc). The downside is registration and the equipment would be about a 5k start up
