I always remove the point from the flat and stack them prior to smoking. I have a smallish electric smoker. Did an hour of Mesquite before switching to hickory.
5 ish hours of smoke then foil wrapped until it reached 200 degrees. Rest for two hours before serving... it'll do!

Since it is that time of year now, if you're in the market for getting a new string trimmer for your property...I'd recommend getting an Echo brand.

I got my first one about 10 yrs. ago and beat it up on an acre property in Buie, then four more years at my last home in Denver. The thing has been in storage for at least two years and I got it going again on Saturday. Yeah it was pissed off at first, but that thing ran....and I was impressed. (SRM-210) dual feed, two stroke.

Of course I only made the ceremonious first 30 ft, and had to re-spool the string....gah!

Turns out that our home owners insurance was never cancelled after we sold our house in CO - we mistakenly thought it had been as part of the sale process. And since it was paid through escrow, we thought that unused difference was included in the payout when we sold. It wasn’t. So today my wife was on the phone with USAA and this all came out. Pupper twisted his right hind leg. Got it caught in the recliner foot rest while he was climbing off of us (85lb. lap dog). He's a little gimpy today. Nothing seems permanent and manipulation doesn't cause him pain. Still wants to play fetch, but he's getting a day off today. If it doesn't improve, he'll be going to the vet. [Tooth]

I was hiding from ours at the end of the couch when she was in the middle of fetching a toy....and I startled her run, and she kinda crashed into an end table. I sure felt bad about it, but by the next morning showed no ill effect of the incident.

From what I could find, the tail rotor was at the scene of the crash. The rotation before the crash indicates that the tail rotor wasn't countering the torque of the main rotor, but it appears that it was still attached until the crash. It can happen.

Yeah, totally sucks. Some forward momentum can sometimes allow more control, but it appears they spun all the way to the ground. Not sure if it was luck that they landed at an empty park, or if some skill was involved. Helicopters are risky, like crossing the street, or taking a shower. That was a tough situation. Either way, glad to hear that someone survived and more people weren't hurt. I hope the survivor makes a complete recovery and prayers go out to the deceased.

Now my snarky side:
I hope the deceased individual doesn't test positive for Covid-19.

Just got pupper back from the vet. He hurt his ankle, nothing obvious in X-rays, but they'll go to a radiologist for a closer look. Got some pain meds and he gets less activity for a bit. Gave him one of his flavored meds and he is OUT. Sleeping hard on the recliner next to the spousal unit.

Highest rev I've shifted with V8 was at 8300 RPM. It made a clutch paddle pressure softer. :D

Hopefully get it into the shop this week to power-flush the hydraulics. I locked the rear diff and it won’t unlock, come to find out the reservoir is empty and gummy. Last owner (of almost 20 years) never used the 4WD, barely used it at all. Gonna have all fluids changed, and axle boots replaced.

You heard right. 45mph, right lane on the passes (uphill). But engine swaps really don’t have a good history in these, so I’ll leave it as-is. But it’ll go slow like nobody’s business!

A cow and calf moose chomped and pooped their way through the yard last evening. My neighbor, Charlie, reported two river otters moving through the river upstream. Ice is opening on the south shore of Beaver Reservoir but I saw no otters there this morning. At 7.53 a.m., a first of season male Broad-tailed Hummingbird visited a feeder at our kitchen window. This is the first day in a week that it didn't snow off and on throughout the day. Spring is here, yea!
