Time is relative. As long as i get a 15-20 minute nap.

There was a tv show on a few years back ECO-CHALLENGE. Very interesting concept , also to watch them in action.
http://www.tv.com/shows/eco-challenge/

It was different groups competing in a week long 24 hr contest. Took place in different environments around the globe. There was an Army Ranger? team that "thought" because of their experience and training, they'd clean clock , taking home the prize. They never got close. During the post interview, they realized what was done wrong.

Their plan was to go full throttle 24/7, thus over taking other teams. It dawned on them, unfortunately afterwards. Had they taken 15-20 minute rest breaks like others did. Their stamina may have taken then to the top vs. pushing all out with no rest.

Good morning Belly! How ya doing?

just reminiscing about the past 12 years of military service. Long road, good times, bad times, 4 years of service in foreign lands.

I'm pretty broken, but I don't think I'd have it any other way.

I saw Mick's thread about days gone past, and it reminds me of my own grandfather.

He served in a Battalion of all Norwegian-Americans in WWII (99th Infantry Battalion Sep.). He was a Company Commander at D-Day, and also fought at the Battle of the Bulge, discovered (in part) the Malmedy Massacre, then later took part in OSS operations in Norway and was a member of the 474th Regimental Combat Team. He was a truly hard core mother-f****r and asked for nothing in return. His example and influence has guided me both into and out of some pretty heavy situations, but I've come out of them with two distinct thoughts about leadership:

Never be too much of an Officer to be a Soldier.

It's OK to be tough, but it's never OK to be mean.

I miss him a lot.

Taxes [Bang]

There's a reason the wif hands me her W2 as she walks out the door for work.

At least she offered to try to help pay this year. Kills me since I asked her to have extra withheld and not only did she not do that, she didn't let me know so I could have withheld more myself, and I now see she has Single 10 listed. WTF? So not only did she underwithold, she under-withheld more.

Yea, definitely should have done that and will in the future.

So it sounds like WFT turned out to be a POS.

I wouldn't say that by any means. It goes fast and trims the brass with a very clean square cut. Setting it up is definitely headstamp dependent. For trimming brass below the max length, it works. For trimming with any consistency all of your brass in one go without having to reset the tool, doesn't seem to fit the bill.

Sounds perfect for blaster ammo. So the question is: would you buy it again or recommend it for any particular purpose?

Sounds perfect for blaster ammo. So the question is: would you buy it again or recommend it for any particular purpose?

Well, based on my initial testing, it works great for blaster ammo. It trimmed my <1.760" cases to less than that, which makes them usable. In some instances though, when I set it up for 1.745", it would trim to 1.755, which isn't much from the limit. That's why I say headstamp dependent. This isn't my final opinion though, still working that up and I'll make a thread in the other PWT thread (the actual reloading forum [LOL] ) about it when done but it probably won't be for a few more weeks.

However, I'm sure that if you only have one headstamp of brass, it'll work perfectly with great repeatability. My Fed cases are all 1.745" +/- 0.002, which is perfectly acceptable for the speed I can process them. I still will probably buy one for 308 match ammo, but won't be processing hundreds upon hundreds of 308 cases, so I can take the time to set it up for a headstamp before processing (if I end up with mixed headstamp brass).

Otherwise, a cure all would be to keep one piece of each headstamp that is trimmed to your desired length and use that to set up the tool each time.

I don't know if that's a fair assessment based on the complaints of one guy who has never used any other trimmer... [Dunno]

Agreed, I definitely don't think its a POS. It trims brass, but I believe it has a steep learning curve on setting it up. I feel they should mention the differences you can see in various brass manufacturers due to variances in the shoulder dimensions, and not just claim +/- 0.001" across the board.

eta: And thanks for the backhanded compliment [LOL]

Whats the math? What height of rings do you need?

You really want me to break out the math?! [LOL]

And I won't know that until potentially at the end of this week... I was just stirring the pot with my steel vs aluminum scope ring question, but that question still remains. The scope base is steel, so either is fine.

TPS TSR come in 7075 aluminum and 1215 alloy steel, so its a toss up as they're both pretty dang close in strength. If it were 6061 it'd be another story.

Let's just say the windsock had no wind in it.

Because typing (Sofa) was too short I had to add extra characters [facepalm]

And on that note, I'm heading to bed. Used up too much brain power today and I need to recharge

in my early twenties, I used to discourage the neighbors from spying by inviting them to spy. I would ride around on a 4-wheeler in my self-proclaimed clothing optional freshly-mowed hay field with a spotlight turned around on myself.

All fun and games until a sheriffs deputy (who is my 2nd cousin) throws me in the back of the car and chauffeurs me back to my house two towns over. Ugh!

Which, historically, has a better tolerance to fine machining?

Vinyl seats ?

Easily cleanable. I think my junk touched someone's barf. Truth be told, the barf probably was also probably because of a relative of mine.

Goodnight BC, maybe you'll come up with some ground breaking calculations in a dream, and shock the world.

Just don't forget the rest of us on your way to the top.

I put gamehunters med on my 30-06....never got to live fire. Dry fire practice got a good consistant cheek weld. Nikon 3-9x40 on a howa 1500. Rings were aluminum.

Dangit, that was slow. Sorry, OBC. I'm trying to order business cards from Vistaprint and I am not used to this laptop's keyboard yet so I have lot of typos to fix. Grr.

Thank you very much, Belly.

Welcome!!!

its up. All my instructional videos are up there.

truth be told, I used these videos as proof that I know how to instruct a concept to another human. It's a requirement that I have at least 45 minutes of documented instructing experience every week.

as my unit's Small Arms Master Gunner, I usually just go down and teach a class about something that the Army screws up or makes difficult.

i like breaking the mold by being the first 'O' in the history of the modern Army that tries, actively, to make things less complex.
