Hey OBC. How?s the vehicle coming?
Bad news on the T case, it's got some problems....around 2K rpm it has an excessive harsh vibration from the output shaft. Once it's rebuilt, I've got some driveshaft angle problems that need resolved.
I also have to cut the tacks on the rear diff pads and rotate it up a bit and re tack it. Tomorrow I'll cut those and get it ready for Jim to bring out his electro-compass. In the meantime I've gotten the front end torn apart and started bead blasting the knuckles and replacing the ball joints, get the knuckles and calipers/brackets blasted and ready to be painted. Bronco Graveyard screwed me on my kit...no axle u joints.
Diff shop boils housings, but it's not good enough to get it really clean so I'll bead blast the housings before they go down and I'll paint em when they come back. I reverse chamfered the steering arm so the drop linkage can come in from the top instead of the bottom, and that should help the geometry with that. I also need to drill new front spring rear shackles to get better spacing between the main leaves and the frame.
Gonna be a busy day tomorrow for sure, and a long one.

Keto and legs/cardio. Don?t worry so much about the appearance. You don?t have time to look pretty, just get the legs and cardio up. Bunless burgers, water only, get summer sausage and real cheese, etc.

I agree, sometimes health issues put a damper on things
In my 60's and after having a leg amputated i was more concerned about my body and muscles atrophying . I do 2-3x a week mild to heavy cardio workouts at the local health club
IMO, unless you're working out on a set schedule trying to maintain a physique you had in your 20's. Forget about it. Accept the fact as one gets older you get a little wider here, little grayer there. I'm not condoning weight where you're up 2-3 belt sizes, just know some things change. Unless you can maintain a set amount of time to the health club and keeping to a diet change. You have to accept it

I'm not quite as worried about appearance, but I just weigh too much.
Thank you for the kind words everyone. I'm just looking for a better minimum baseline of health. I was in the best shape of my life maybe only like 3-4 years ago, so nothing unobtainable at all

Ive lost a number of lbs just training for & shooting midrange tactical in the last year. (Not going to say exactly but it was enough change that I needed to size down the wardrobe) I actually don't mind that a gave up a few of my girly curves for a slimmer profile.
Extra bonus over being more fit, I think I look damn good (albeit a different sort) & I love shooting for so many reasons. Ultimately I trained to be stronger so I could be a better marksman & it shows in more than just my waistline.
Dont think I've said recently: Can't believe I went my entire life not doing this. ;-)

I realize everyone's schedule is different, and yours sounds bad with all the traveling, but your above statement is the reason why I demand a daily exercise routine for myself, some days it's an hour and a half of weight lifting, other days it's just a quick cardio session. I've come to the conclusion I'm past the age of becoming an underwear model, but there is much satisfaction being in great shape, despite minor fluctuations in weight and appearance.
Start small and work your way up, I remember some of the workouts you were doing there for awhile, so I think you'll be fine if you commit.

It was a pretty good one nonetheless
Sometimes I have so much with that it bursts out of me and manifests like an eye twitch that I don't even notice until someone points it out. ;)
So, I went to new Thrornton Batting cage near Riverdale and 91st. I haven't even hit a single ball since 1997-98ish at the batting cage.
I used 2 token at the medium speed baseball, and fastest (far left side) at the batting cage.
The fastest seems to be only at around [estimated] 75 at most.
Doubt I could hit a ball pitched that fast. Not with only a single token anyway.
6 token is $5. They give you a free helmet/bat rental as well. It is cheaper than golf practice range ball bucket.
What better is that usage of tennis court is free and doesn't require a reservation (first come first serve).
Whereas racquetball requires a reservation and need to pay $4.30 at the rec center.
Interesting finds on Craigslist (to me anyway).

I'd grab the stove, if you don't like it. It's worth that in scrap.
The camper, if it's still available with that price. As with any camper. I'd do a good inspection underneath and anywhere water use items are. Lots of people buy campers only to discover that good deal has a rotted floor under the sink or toilet area.

It's a place full of trash marked at insane prices. It'd be easy to source junk, mark it up, then let innocent little old ladies resell it to your foot soldiers so you can wash cash. No "sellers" are ever there and everything is coded in numbers. Seems like a pretty safe bet to me.

I found a neat old (overpriced) safe at one of the booths there. Like you said, no seller there, so I asked the lady at the front counter, and made a pretty low offer (there was a sign posted encouraging negotiations). She called the owner of the booth, he accepted the offer and we paid the lady. She looked through a box and found a card with the combo written on it. I think each ?booth? is rented individually and the house takes a cut of the sales.
Or it?s the mob.

I haven't been in there for probably 20+ years. How much do you think those little 'booth' rentals have to be to sustain the overhead? Rental + percentage maybe?
I always see a few cars in the parking lot, but just how many antique egg beaters, beaded lampshades & rotary hoe wheels do you have to move to see a roi?

Ive a 45 short throw safety which reduces travel, its pretty short on my setup but not so short that it'll stall after fouling from a couple hundred rounds. I might have to work it a bit more after I'm fluent with its operation. Can you imagine if I had to detail every 500rds. Oh yeah, that'd be practical. LMAO

One trick people use is to cut the head off of a spoon and glue it to the bottom of their shoe. Then as they walk the roof during an inspection, they twist their ankle each time and grind out a mark onto the roof. Or they use a quarter or nickle to carve out a "bruise." That leaves a distinct mark though because the roof tar gets dragged over the top of the granules. One time I could see the striations from the side of the quarter. Meanwhile, total amateurs use a ball peen hammer, or a regular hammer, and stand in one spot so all the marks are in a big arc that just so happens to be an arm's length wide.

Good thing I didn?t let any of the endless stream of roofing contractors that came by after the storm on my roof.
I don't understand doing shit like that in Colorado, especially this time of year. There are houses that are completely BLASTED from hail. Why even waste your time, or risk the trouble to fake damage?

CN - how did the trigger work out?
I like it & while shooting offhand, slow fire & rapid fire alike didn't seem to be experiencing the same issue you all had with it. The flat face seems more natural to me actually.
I enjoyed the novel experience because I know MY rifle & there weren't any other modifications I really got to concentrate on just the trigger difference. My old trigger was like shoving a concrete block over gravel from the opposite side of a door. By comparison this new one is just as simple as opening the door. I see a difference in the groupings; less thrown shots because the concerted effort required to drag the old to the break, along with the hard break itself is now gone. (There is currently little over travel after the break because of the style of safety I have, which is where the modifications I spoke of in an earlier post will come to happen) I have slender fingers & I think because of it there doesnt seem to be any real estate conflict between the bad lever & how it appears to sit (didnt measure) just a bit more forward in the trigger well. Also tested this wearing my cold weather range gloves but not with my subzero wear as that's really n/a.
Since I'm a trigger trapper & right now the only thing I might miss is the hard 'spring' & subsequent very loud 'click' of the reset. It was so loud you could easily hear it after each shot in the recordings @ my comps.
Of course, I need to do more range work to really find & know the sweet spot & but I think I'm going to commit & make the mods to seat it properly so I can get to work.

Hate to say my peace & quiet summer vacation is also almost over. Not looking forward to the confluence of idiot parents gathered in front of my house twice a day... the kids are rarely the issue. Denver public school starts in a few weeks.
Another hassle I get to look forward to is that someone always manages to hit my truck (usually in the first few weeks) while doing an illegal u-turn in the middle of the school zone just as school lets out because they are too lazy, stupid or both to anticipate & drive around the block. Since it IS going to happen I'd rather it be my truck than a child. At least I usually get to be an asshole (but still polite) to the person who hits the truck, it's cathartic. Kinda wish I could go all MMA just once though.
I actually bought an assortment of window pens (the ones used for prom, sports, just married etc.) & I fantasize about using them on all the folks' vehicles who park on my sidewalk, drive over my lawn, block my driveway, dump their ashtays in my street, park in front of my house on street sweeping days, hoarke my plowed parking, honk their horns incessantly, breathe, etc., etc., etc.
Still, I have hope that a few aren't little monsters in the making. I got a note once from a child who apologized that their ball went over the school fence & hit my truck & set off the alarm. No damage they could 'tell' but they weren't sure & a phone number. I called to thank them for their integrity & the parents didn't know the child had left the note until they asked the boy. Good kid.

Now, I'm not saying that women shouldn't drive forklifts...
...but 100% of the time that a forklift has gotten stuck in a tree in my front yard, causing significant damage to said tree and requiring me to break out the chainsaw to free it, the driver has been a woman.
Just sayin'.

Did they build a Home Depot around your house or something? What's going on?
I was going to make a funny (I thought) joke about women drivers the other day with my daughter in the car, but opted not to because I have to tread a very fine line between things I think are funny, and things that will ruin her developing personality.

New neighbors next door (cool folks). They had their belongings delivered in a UHaul pod, and this was the retrieval of the pods. Driver decided to bring the forklift up our driveway and drive down the sidewalk (after failing to jump the curb, surprise). Caught our tree branch and ripped it off the tree, but got stuck in the process. Nobody got hurt at least.
This is exactly the kind of thing that scares me out of starting new side hustles. I think I'm going to offer gutter cleaning in the fall and in the spring when I'm slow though, starting this year.

That makes a lot of sense. You’re already doing the climbing, and nobody want to clean their own gutters. Sounds smart to me. Good luck.
Thanks. I'll be allowing board members the honor of paying me full price for services, once I figure out what those prices are.
In the mean time....LOVE THIS

Also, the way the second verse is worked in kills me every time. I honestly think that Weird Al is probably one of the most underrated artists of our time.

His live shows are a blast.
Weird Al dressed as Rivers Cuomo from the Buddy Holly video lip syncing Weezer covering Africa by Toto while parodying the video for Undone(the sweater song). So meta.

Good thing I saw this dove in time. At first I thought it was a dog soft toy because it was sitting so still. Anyway, it was a good thing I saw it because I was a few stories up right over a concrete driveway and had I gotten closer without noticing, I'm worried it would have startled me when it flew away and scared me over the edge.

Found a brush hog on CL for a good price, text the seller. They send back Call X #. I call the, seller says. I've been getting a lot of spam text & calls lately. If the text is real they call. Mmm ( sounds like a GD topic) Anyway . The seller says i'm on this street. Really where at i live on the road, also.
Turns out he's 1/2 mi down the road and says...... you're a neighbor come pick it up and bring it back when you're finished. All i ask is you top off the gas and replace the cutters.
Just ordered more business cards. Hopefully I spelled my business name correctly this time.

We were graced by a visit to the lake for dinner by a bull moose.
He appeared to be surprised that so many people were around. He was hesitant when he first arrived but soon decided he didn't care and waded into the lake to feed along the shore.
