I'm not a hardcore fan anymore, but I used to be into it hard. For those that don't know, I used to race circle track in the early 90's.

Having a discussion with my GF today with the Vegas race on in the background, I wanted to share an idea with you good folks. She can't stand the sport of racing at all, sucks to be her on that, but.... for some damn reason I felt compelled to offer some commentary on it. You're welcome.. :)

I do not stand up for what most people consider nascar fans to be, yes I have some white trash in me, can't help that much. (car seat*covers*on the lawn chairs?)…. I tried to tell my GF that the science behind the technology that goes into all the cars you see on the track, is basically equivalent to the same level of science that NASA is doing.

All people see on TV is cars turning left, and they make fun of it......all the while having zero idea of what went behind making that vehicle turn left the best and the fastest it can, using incredibly studied factors. Every square inch of anything on those cars are "engineered" to be exactly the best they can possibly be. Try going into a corner at 90 mph... these guys are doing it at 184 mph.

In no way is this a challenge to determine superior racing formats, I just wanted to share that the car racing community really has some extremely brilliant minds behind it.

Speaking of auto race.

I was a huge F1 fan during 3.0 v10 era.
I did watch a little during 2.3 v8, but rarely watched after they got rid of refueling policy.

I thought grooved tires (98-08) were bad, but not compare to what they did after.
Taking 1 less variable (fuel capacity+ weight variance ,fuel) made the sports much linear.
On top of that 6 cylinder+ers made the sports really boring.

Screaming turbos made f1 cool.... But my interest in it has declined along with the changes/reasons you detailed

I was blowing by cars (very few, but out there) on e-470 at 0330-0430 this morning to and from DIA on e-470. Some of these drivers were running scary slow (as I was doing 70+ on hard pack). I did slow for a few while passing, because you never know when one of these idiots will crowd you or come into your lane.

FWIW, I'm running AWD with torsen diffs, Blizzaks and 42+ years driving experience, very much of it in the snow including 3 years in DE running the A-bahn...

should ice be coming out of the vent circled in red?
77524

Irving
03-05-2019, 11:48
No, there shouldn't be moisture in the attic. That is the inlet vent so air goes in at the eaves, then out through the box vents or ridge vent, or whatever is on top of the roof.

CS1983
03-05-2019, 11:51
ok, so time to call the roofing company who did the new roof, then, it sounds like?

Irving
03-05-2019, 11:53
I don't think that'd be a bad idea. Take a peak up in the attic now and see if you see icicles hanging off of nails, or any other signs of moisture up there.

CS1983
03-05-2019, 11:55
Attic is massively filled w/ insulation.

Irving
03-05-2019, 11:56
I know, but if there are icicles hanging down from the vent AND you have a moisture issue, you'll have signs on the bottom of the roof sheathing where you can see it above the insulation.

CS1983
03-05-2019, 12:03
ok, well, I'll likely just call them and let them handle it.

Irving
03-05-2019, 12:19

I wish I would have started with one but at the same time I would have probably went through about 3-4 if I didn't peel. I have about 40% left of the van to peel and a half a wheel left to hopefully get whatever residue is left.

Hey, I was gonna say that's all I did today was work with 12 year old cracked, sun beaten reflective striping...yay. Most of the day tomorrow as well. Mazin, I've used those wheels before too, most body shops do. You have to be careful with speed and heat, especially with older oxidized paint. The shit I was telling you about the other day only requires the adhesive cleaner and won't hurt the paint, and it's probably the same time involved in the end.

So anyway, we're sharing the same pain my friend.

Bearing buddies on a dry trailer (not a boat) are, IMHO, shit.

Dexter axles with the ez-lube spindles are nice. Otherwise, just repack em by hand once a year or more.

China bomb tires are shit too unless they're Sailuns. If they're G rated or higher, you may be OK. E rated and they're probably junk china tires.

Got my trailer...need a 3" inverted drop to get the ride height correct. Didn't think to ask what the tongue ball size was the other day, 2 5/16..but they gave me the ball to put on the 2" drop I had. Bought a spare wheel/tire for it too. Axels are the EZ lube like Brutal was talkin' bout.

It's strange we have "ins" on car parts and accessories because of the volume we buy, including tires and wheels...but for some reason it doesn't apply to the trailer industry. At least in my experience.

Wife made me smile.

I went downstairs to do some laundry and when I opened the dryer it was full of stuffed animals.

It was cute. I should have taken a picture.

Bacon wrapped chicken kabobs...……. sound awesome. I'm willing to bet that eating them was a lot more amazballs than just how it sounds.

Just like you motivate any Ho......... You bitch slap them a couple of times, throw them out on a street corner and tell them to get Ho’in.
