Yep, I got talked into a long working camp trip. So I have to navigate the stresses of bringing my all girl family camping, while being expected to build a storage shed in the woods at the same time. Sounds like it's going to be a cluster; we'll see.
Was camping years ago near Flaming Gorge.
A family with 6 small children pulled into the camp ground.
Each child, including the youngest around 7 years old, had a job assignment.
Two tents were erected, a fire laid, extra firewood gathered, a Coleman Stove and Stand, Dish washing stand, Cook box, and seating all set up.
Mom and Dad sat in folding camp chairs, never said a word, and just watched the whole process. The oldest child, girl, about 13-14 years old, directed traffic.
No crying, some excited chatter from the kids during the process, and a lot of laughter.
I was amazed.
Just a little pre-planning, organization, and dedicated troops.

Deja vu.
There were two squirrels in my maple tree...
You know I took this picture in anticipation of me bitching about driving for 3.5 hours only to have it be raining when I had to get up onto this roof today. But it really wasn't that bad.

Fixing or repairing someone else's shitty shed construction sucks though. I have two that will most likely end up in a roll off and do it right instead.
Is the blue and yellow pole your ladder?
It's a thing called The Goat that I use in place of a rope and harness on steep roofs.

With some help from the employees at Dencol, I'm getting closer to getting some stuff powder coated.
I do however wish I welded more often to keep those skills fresh. Cleaning up strong but unsightly welds is a pain in the ass.

Good morning folks
yes it is. After 5 days of on & off rain the suns up and no wind.
Much nicer today.
Should I convert my trailer to a spring over set-up for more clearance since I plan to use it for camping sometimes? Looks simple enough, but I only have today to do it.

Maybe a better question is what else do you need to do for your trip?
Everything. Haven't built my storage box yet. Haven't packed a single thing. Haven't finished my work yet so I can dive into that stuff.
In fact, got to go. Don't get too interesting in here. I don't want to be distracted.
ChickNorris

I'll stave off the belly dancers & clowns until after you've packed.
Giggle
If you get a belly dancing clown, he might pack faster.
Some restaurants around town have real belly dancers. If you've never seen one live, it's pretty interesting. This lady rolled a sword down her belly.

I damn near got the passenger side nerf bar done today. Fully welded up and gusseted, and it's strong as shit. Thank you, Brutal...again.
I've got some bungs in the mail for the rock shields I plan to design, don't know if I can make 'em and not have them look retarded. Cardboard mock ups are in my future for sure. There's a few different ways I thought of to accomplish this, I hope one of them works out...I don't want to trash the doors on the cab by not doing anything to protect it.
Tomorrow will be van loading day just to get it to the shop, and it might take most of the day. I'll get the tanks out on Sunday, replace the rear sender, get the carb replaced, and get the thing running. I'll have to dig into the front tank and see if anything's salvageable or go full blown McGyver to make something work.

Other than the obvious not April's market...
The winter one is a smaller outdoor venue, with maybe 10-20 vendors, less fruits & veggies
The spring / summer one has at least 40 vendors Plus you're getting locally grown meats, fruits & veggies as it's a seasonal thing;) Then there's the 3-4 home based bakeries, etc.
They also have a few vendors selling breakfast / lunches.

Ya know, I've got to give thanks and feel positive about the winch install working properly, and getting it hauled here safely though. The original plan was to get it to the shop so it was ready to start working on in the morning. The car dollies worked, but trying to get the vehicle into position for the winch was the difficulty. Evidence I think, that I need to move forward with the trailer end fairlead idea I had. I would not have hurt myself if I had that in place.

Reading this half awake I first saw ?feed the horses and grease the dogs?.
I was like WTF?The geese take care of greasing the dogs if they get too bully.
Our GSD learned very fast not to piss off the geese.
Neighbors Burmese mtn dogs(or whatever huge azz breed they are) have not. Is hysterically funny to see 90lb, 9 month old pup freak out when goose grabs a lip and starts flogging the shit out of them.

Same here, I thought he was getting Willie on us, beer for his horses, whiskey for his dogs. [LOL]

Yesiree. Sadly my truck and RV sit outside. Truck already got hit once while at the lake in Pueblo a few years ago, but it wasn't bad enough to get fixed right away.
I think if we get any hail here at the house this year, I'll need to get my roof checked. Fortunately, we haven't had anything significant enough for me to attempt any claims except for the truck.

Thanks, all.
With a time window rapidly closing, it was pretty important to get that thing started. Took about eight hours total, kinda kicked my ass a bit...the old sender looked like a rustcicle. I cleaned out about two or three cups of rust flakes and got the new sender in. The 25 yr. old carb in a box did awesome...I barred the engine over a few cycles, put five gallons in, and the damn thing started and idled smoothly. No smoke out the tailpipe either. I couldn't believe it....still can't believe it really.
I'm thankful.

3 hail storms last night.
10:30, 1:00, 3:30
Would just get back to sleep and the hammering would start again.
Still have piles in the yard and most of the leaves are little shredded bits now.
We only planted about 12 flowering plants over the week-end and they are no longer.
Looks like mostly pea size, no damage on the car that doesn't get to live in the garage, and have the higher priced hail resistant roof, so maybe escaped the process of filing claims, etc.
Yeah, pea sized generally doesn't damage much.

05-28-2019, 11:33

Um... ouch?
Listen, if Pee-Wee Herman doesn't already live in your heart, then you don't deserve the joy of the word of the day. Even Buffalobo, who says has never liked Pee-Wee's Playhouse, knows what we mean.
Plus, what if one day there is some very important information about Pee-Wee on this website, then years later I want to do a search to refer back to that same info? I'll have to sift through 289 pages of the PWT thread to find info on my beloved Pee-Wee!
One of my cousins dressed as Pee-Wee Herman for Halloween once, and I have to say that he really nailed the look. It was great.
Um... ouch?
I will still be here for secret word regardless.

So in CO i had more than 1 forum member unable to navigate they way out of the yard. Always finding the corner or side of the shop to run in to. Some couldn't get past the 12' gate with out scraping their truck along the fence.
Flash forward to a week ago. 20' straight job truck pulls in to install gutters. Gate is 12' wide with plenty of space to pull a full size truck with a 20' trailer in.
https://i.imgur.com/I24iaLmm.jpg
Truck needs to go forward to park between the house & guest house in the background.
So what does the driver do. Pulls up to the intersecting drives and..............................backs up
right in to the 4' oil firld pipe and gate. 30' at the widest area inside the gate narrowing down to 14' up between the buildings. I asked why did he think he needed to back u when the worh was on the other buildings/ I dun know, it's my first time driving this truck [facepalm]

Did you ever back a trailer into your old place? I'm getting better at backing with my trailer, but it still seems like that would be a tight turn. The wide alley helps for sure.

No we had enough room to swing a 17' pull behind through, with close to 1-2" alongside the gate / garage. The 8' gate out front was just wide enough to squeeze the trailer[s] out.
To this day i'm still perplexed how a guy with a smart car with plenty of room to get out of there, hit the corner .
This question coming from a guy who at 1 time, ok more than 1x backed in to power or light poles in an empty parking lot, or two.
The same week I did that, I watched another guy do the exact same thing. I figured out why we both did that, but it's difficult to explain over text.
