Don Kazo you simply dont know the sheer amount of crap the staff had to endure during that time, let's just say a lot of people here would have been really screwed if something wasnt done by the staff.Yea I admit I have strong feelings about this because a few of my buddies not on COAR really got screwed and personally when someone's basically stealing I dont take well to it. Granted 2013 sucked all the way around one but this sticks out in a lot of people's minds.

I'm not justifying anything past or present named business did. If anything i pushed for their removal the day of name change in IP section. Again this entire deal should be moved to IP / feed back section.

Folks, this was the real deal! Amazing place to stay! All amenities were included, no expense was spared. First I was transported in a private SUV to a prescreening lobby to make sure that I was eligible to stay. They even take your finger prints to verify your identity and not someone else trying to steal your reservation. I was placed in a private room where I had to wait to be transported to the main facility. My belongings were taken from me for safe keeping, how thoughtful. After about a two hour wait. I was transported again VIP to the main facility where upon arrival I was greeted by the concierge. He had me place my hands on the wall and then gave me a quick shiatsu massage to help me relax from the trip. I was was given an opportunity to make a phone call to let people how much fun I was having. I also visited a physician to make sure that I was healthy during my stay, very clever. As soon as I was checked in, I was given a very comfortable and extremely fashionable jumpsuit to wear as to not get my clothes dirty. I called it "Hamburglar chic". I was given fresh linens for my bed but I think they might of ran out of fabric softener because they were a bit on the rough side but it wasn't a big deal. I was given a VIP key card with my picture on it to gain access certain areas. I was asked for it everywhere that I went. How exclusive! I was taken to my section of the facility and boy was I flabbergasted! It was amazing! There were other guests there conversing and watching the enormous 24 inch screen TV. I believe some guests weren't having as great of a time as I was because they kept complaining to the staff that they wanted to leave. The staff however had them stay so that they would not miss out on any of the fun. I was given a gourmet meal consisting of two of the finest slices of bread. I think it was rye because it was hard like rye. A packet of aged grape preserves. A dollop of peanut butter made from the fanciest molding clay. Three, extra soft, vanilla and chocolate creme cookies. So posh! Lastly, a thimble of chilled apple cider. I ate like a plebian. After my hearty meal, I went to my suite to take a nap. I crept in quietly as to not disturb my bunkmate. He must of had a good meal to because he did not wake up the entire time I was there. I was also surprised with all of the features my suite had. A very stylish stainless steel toilet, a desk to write home letters to let your loved ones know of the phenomenal time you are having, my light switch to control the light and set the mood, and my favorite of all, my own water fountain with very little pressure as to not be wasteful. I had to put my mouth over the entire spigot to get a delicious heaping mouthful, yum. Amazing wake up service. I didn't even have to ask for it. I was very gingerly woken up from my slumber with a loudspeaker to let me know that my time was up. Bummer. It was time to let other guests enjoy the center. Overall I had a blast! Friendly staff, great food and most important of all, amazing location, in quaint Brighton, Colorado. Miles away from the fast and dangerous suburban life. Truly an experience.

There are a lot of great folks here, I know that, and it's part of why I want this community to be part of my life. My apologies for seemingly trying to bring it down from time to time....lol. I had a bit of a hard time visiting the family and friends of a loved neighbor during a celebration of life this afternoon.
I know I've mentioned Jerry and Claire here before....but today I looked Jerry's son in the eye while I shook his hand and admitted that I failed and regret not having stayed in contact with Jerry after Claire passed and he had moved back into his home next door to my Ex. Both of them were great people, and they helped me learn and understand a lot of things about life, and they will live in my memories for the rest of my life.
Thank you, Jerry.

After politics
In 2012, Dole established the Elizabeth Dole Foundation, dedicated to helping caregivers of "wounded warriors".
Actor Tom Hanks joined the Foundation's Hidden Heroes Campaign to bring awareness to the over 5.5 million military caregivers across America who are facing enormous challenges every day caring for members of the military and gravely injured veterans.

The fine coating of bicarbonate all over from the extinguisher, and the aroma of burnt in the house is especially enjoyable.
I certainly had better things to do today.
Timing sucks too. I was hoping the oven would last until we remodel. Guess I'll look for something on CL or a scratch and dent.

Wife is working so at least she didn't have to endure this today. Got it mostly cleaned up.
Good thing I had my office (upstairs bedroom) door open and an timer going on Alexa.
I smelled it before it got too far. However, there's no smoke detector downstairs and it wasn't enough to set off the upstairs.
Talk about a High Blood Pressure moment.
Meh,
Now if the fire was outside the oven, that might have gotten my heart rate up.
In retrospect, I should have just gone outside and killed the breaker first instead of opening the door. I didn't notice it was actually on fire, just some smoke coming out the vent.
I thought maybe just the sheet pan was on fire and I could just throw some bicarbonate in there and opened it again with a box in my hand and it was worse. LOL. That's when I went for the extinguisher.
Went to the junkyard today (West Auto Parts in Commerce City). Lucked out and found the part I needed pretty quick (a power antenna). I bring it up to the counter and the guy says, "I can do $25." I said, "This is a Rock Auto replacement, and that's what they go for brand new." He just shrugged and asked me to put it back in the car I got it from. What the fuck is the point of going to a pick and pull if they are going to charge you the same price as brand new parts? Now I have to call around and see what people will charge me before I waste any more time.
This is it from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Metra-44-PW22-Universal-Motorized-Automatic/dp/B0002BEUYO/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1526371788&sr=8-4&keywords=power+antenna&dpID=31u0auQO7CL&preST=_SY300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch

The difference price wise, gives you one that's warrantied and one that isn't.

That's a bummer Irving, and I would add that the trouble you went through was a decent enough pain in the ass.....I'd also say that even if they sold it to you for half the price, you still spent much of your time AND it's still used shit when you walk out the door too.
If I'm going to replace something on a car I'm keeping and driving daily, I'll buy factory stuff if I can (especially electronics), or at least new replacement parts aftermarket.
Fortunately it didn't take me very long. Also, this won't be going onto a car, although it will be just as important to have something that is reliable.

Sorry, I wasn't trying to be mysterious so much as I'm positive people are getting tired of hearing that I have chickens, especially after I bumped my thread.
So, if you want to automate your chicken door, this Add-A-Motor seems to be the go-to suggested product at $90 on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Add-Motor-Surface-Chicken-Automatic/dp/B007IZJWNQ/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1526446442&sr=8-3&keywords=chicken+coop+door+opener&dpID=412Vit1xefL&preST=_SY300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch
Then there are fancier models that have built in timers and such, like so: https://www.amazon.com/ChickenGuard-Premium-Automatic-Chicken-Accessories/dp/B01MQ2FR1T/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?ie=UTF8&qid=1526446442&sr=8-1-spons&keywords=chicken+coop+door+opener&psc=1
But, since I've been reading so much, I've seen that people are grabbing power antennas for cheap and just using those, as seen in this video (skip to 2:40): Intro music is the same from Chef John's Food Wishes videos.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fwh00JaCztk
My plan is to set mine up pretty much like this where I'll cannibalize a solar LED garden light with a photo cell, and have that control the opening and closing of the door. That way I won't have to adjust a timer throughout the year.
So nothing like painting a bookcase at 10:30 at night, yep the fumes are give me a nice lumber tonight. Low VOC my ass gimme that good ol fashioned paint smell that last for weeks.
I was also painting at midnight last night. I was using that cheap paint from Habitat for Humanity. Man that stuff goes on like water and slops everywhere. In addition it smells weird. I went to put my pants on from last night and they really stunk, but it took me a long time to figure out what the hell the smell was. In addition to painting, I went through the added labor of sanding down pressure treated wood for non-stop for an hour and a half. In the end, I just started painting everything and couldn't really tell much difference between the sanded and non-sanded stuff.

Don't sand pressure treated lumber.
It's already done by now, but are there health risks or something?
I was sanding because I was trying to clean up other lumber that wasn't pressure treated, and was planning on painting everything. Most of what I sanded were fence pickets and I found that the pressure treating seemed not to penetrate very far below the surface and I was getting raw wood almost right away. I made a bunch of quick passes and it took the paint very well. Especially compared to some scrap pressure treated 4x4 that I had laying around. I threw a quick coat of paint on that and it hardly even took the paint.

Older matl is treated with CCA - chromated copper aresenate, exposure to arsenic should be avoided.
Newer matl(after Dec 31 2003) is treated with organic compounds. Not as effective but less potential exposure issues.

Good news. U Pull and Pay quoted me $14.95 after tax for a power antenna. Even after paying $2 to go in, that's still cheaper than Western Auto Parts.

This is an interesting question for a couple of reasons. It would seem Fear in yourself would be far worse that dealing with Fear in others. If you can manage your own fear and keep your head straight through it, those that are caught up in being frightened could easily be led by effective reasoning and sound leadership.

I don't want to start an argument, but I've never had a burger better than what you can get at some place like Red Robin. Not because Red Robin is so great, but because a burger can only be so good. It's pretty hard to fuck up a burger; but at the same time you can only make a burger taste so good.
I enjoy Big Macs. I also hate it when I have to use a knife and fork on a burger. It’s a food that shouldn’t require utensils. What Julia Roberts-mouth having people exist such that a burger should be so large?

Have to disagree. Red Robin is disgusting. cant call that a burger whatsoever.
Plenty of better places with real burgers around.
You'd be surprised how many places can screw up a burger.
I tried Cherry Cricket three times and that has to be the blandest, most tasteless burger I've ever had. Plus their cooks don't know the difference between medium rare, medium and medium well. [emoji849]

I've had some decent burgers at Red Robin, and at a few other places. I don't believe that I've ever had a burger that I would jump up and down about.....and profess it's excellence to the world. A Super Star from Carls Jr is fairly decent imo. I'm guessing some would say it's garbage though.

I've had some decent burgers at Red Robin, and at a few other places. I don't believe that I've ever had a burger that I would jump up and down about.....and profess it's excellence to the world. A Super Star from Carls Jr is fairly decent imo. I'm guessing some would say it's garbage though.

I drove a neighbor to Black Hawk Towing, located outside of Central City, at around 2:30am last night. When we arrived, there were a few sheriffs dept vehicles on site and the deputies I saw were making some young kids with $50k jeeps clean up and repair the dirt road where they had just been doing donuts and acting like asses prior to being caught. What tickled me was that as I was leaving, the kids were leaving too, and I happened to make a few loud comments with my window down about how “god damn those yellow head lights are awful! Are those bright ass LED’s really this other guy’s running lights? Are you fucking kidding me?!”...
Suddenly, as I drove away, the riced out jeeps were stopped again and a deputy was heard informing the driver that his headlights were illegal...
I really like the guys and gals at the Gilpin County Sheriff’s dept :)

I'd rather eat White Castle or Krystal than some fancy burger that costs as much as a steak and is half as good.
Agreed, and that's considering that steaks are over priced as well. Columbine Steak House on 3rd and Federal ruined most other restaurant steaks for me. There are certainly better, but not for the money.
A gourmet burger is like a gourmet hotdog. At some point you cannot improve it, and there's really no improving it anyway. It's picnic food. A brioche bun w/ imported German mustard and a Icelandic mushrooms is pretentious, not delicious.

I'm sure everyone recognizes how fun and exciting folding laundry is, it's a total blast.....but, where is the naughty under ware line?
We all have it......you know, the ones where your junk is a little too free, but you keep them around anyways because they aren't worn out and the elastic still kinda functions? Pull 'em up tighter and fold the top down perhaps? Hey, it still works....why throw it away and spend money on new stuff when it still works.
Baggy work uniform pants and loose britches don't work, but Levis and loose britches are okay.
I still have serviceable under ware from 15 years ago still going strong, the older stuff was made better I think.

I went to Bad Daddy's Burger Bar in Briargate yesterday. They made a good burger I guess, but so many of their options are "trying too hard" and not enough simpler choices. Don't care what color, as long as she is steady producer.
If the rock were captured on the mars rover's camera, Alex Jones and Giorgio Tzsatknsandsvckslious would poop themselves with unrestrained nutbag glee.
It could be Woody Allen on the Rover camera.
I was just about to post how awesome these things are: https://www.amazon.com/Hampton-Farms-Cajun-Spicy-Roasted/dp/B001EBSRHM
And then I was shelling one and a piece popped off and hit me in the eye. These are taste great, but they are truly awful as an ocular adornment.
Those look good, but I wonder, if I hold the bag out in front of me on my flattened palm like a matre'd, how close would the opening of the bad be to my mouth?
Also, what is this "shelling" you speak of? Doesn't everyone just throw the entire thing into their mouth, suck all the salt off the Shell, crack it open in your mouth like a sunflower seed, suck all the salt it if the inside of the Shell, then eat the peanut and spit out the Shell?
ETA: then later wonder why your sweat can rust a battle ship anchor clean in two in under a week?
Do you eat hard boiled eggs with the shell still on?
No, I'm not a psychopath! I also take the tails off of shrimp, but recently tried just eating them and I didn't die.
An egg is a bad example because it's not comfortable to fit the whole thing in your mouth all at once, the shell has no flavor, and it's difficult enough to remove using your hands; unlike a peanut shell that can easily be popped off with mouth. But I see your point. Do you shell sunflower seeds first?
I'm meeting a member on Monday. I'm posting here to help me remember.
I don't eat sunflower seeds because I'm not trying to convince myself to not take back up the habit of chewing tobacco that I have yet to give up.
I recently have my mouth a break from cigars by eating an entire bag of ranch seeds in one day.

Manufacturer recommends cylinder recharge after three shots for maximum performance, but the video suggested up to five shots before the pressure dropped off enough to affect target aim. I think this would be a very useful tool to include into your SHTF supplies.

Growing up in MO, we used to go fishing a lot - small rural ponds, Lake Jacomo and Lake of the Ozarks mostly. Bass was always the big thing to catch along with bluegill and muddy tasting catfish. I never enjoyed eating them and really never enjoyed fishing unless I was keeping the fish to eat. About the only freshwater fish I enjoyed eating was trout and salmon - until I tasted catfish down in KY because my father-in-law insisted I try it. If the catfish isn't muddy I can eat the heck out of it. As for bass...no joy for the Ginsue.

Them catfish in Jacomo (and Blue Springs lake) are mud cats all day long, even if they are channel cat. Nothing but mud and gut rot in there and that makes for a nasty tasting catfish. I wouldn't fish that lake ever again if I had to.
story about Jacomo. Dad took my Grandpa, I and little brother fishing there one year and he threw his line in and not 30 seconds later something hit it hard and he fought it for a good 40 minutes. He thought it was a monster catfish. When he finally got it to the bank, it turned out to be an enormous snapping turtle. He got so mad at that turtle he cut its head off and threw it on the other side of the road in a drainage pond. My Grandpa was laughing fit to kill, but I cried. I felt bad for that turtle. He was just hungry and didn't know any better. My Dad should just taken it over there to the drainage pond and let it go instead of doing that.
Dad and I always went to the Holden city reservoir after Jacomo started getting fished out. You walk about 1/2 way down the dam and go down the rocks and sit by the water on a big rock and throw liver or a cricket out there under a bobber and you'd catch your limit in catfish from 4 am to 10 am. You could come back at 8 pm and catch them all night long. The blue gill in there were fantastic too. such tenacious little fighters. A fried mess of those are amazing.

Lots of them snappers on both sides of the state line in that area. I mostly stayed on the KS. side for fishing.
The best catfish I’ve had came out of Milford lake near Ft. Riley.
I've only ever caught small mouth bass in the little pond behind Water World. Also caught Blue Gill there.

Best way to remedy those cats is a day in fresh water, followed by a soak in buttermilk. Then toss some hot sauce on them. After hot sauce or other flavor of choice, dip on a pancake mix using beer in place of other liquid. Deep Fry and enjoy.
Had perogies the other day. I'm sure that the frozen in a bag version is terrible compared to whatever they make on the East coast or wherever has humidity, but it was still pretty disappointing. Just the concept is bad. Potato wrapped in bread? No thanks.

You should try some pierogi instead. Tasty and come in versions beyond potato. Head down to European Gourme (sp?) and get some. Yes they are frozen, but there is meat, sour craut and mushroom, tato and cheese, and various fruit versions. Pick up some kiełbasa while you are there. On Wads in Arvada.
Also, for the regular pierogi fry down some fresh bacon crumbs - 1/2lb of bacon cut to 1/4 inch lengths fry till crispy and serve hot. For fruit versions take sour cream and add sugar, stir till well mixed and sweet.
Why didn't he eat the snapping turtle!?

We'll be in Knoxville. I'll have to find out where to go.

Yeah, not sure on the east side. The Smokies should have some good lakes and ponds and streams to hit for good trout fishing.

If you are in the woods and hear banjos, run hard and run fast........
Yep, no one likes a totally dry, non-sweaty butthole.

I'd be more worried about coming up on someone's still site than anything else. Or, someone's meth cooking shed. Or, someone's patch of weed growing in a holler. I'd imagine catching lead would be a bigger worry than some fictitious rape culture.

Ready for a three day weekend. Arches NP, a horseback ride and some camping and fishing. [emoji2]

Kicking off my five day weekend by spending $1000 on some new tires. Yay.

Bass fishing 10x better there than here in Colorado.

Speaking from experience or just a general observation?
It's just common sense butt control.

Nothing like driving a wedge in an otherwise civil discussion.

I really need to do this. My 60,000 mile tires have about 58,000 miles on them.

Ahh yes......butt holes and wedge conversation. I'd like to apologize at this time to Jack Beadle...…..I'm sorry Jack, what I did to you on the playground that day in third grade wasn't cool.
I didn't know better at the time to not be a shit bag to someone else for no damn reason at all. That was fucked up.

Yep...just now blew $1,200 on …."another something else I had to do".... and that got old when it started about five months ago. Bad streak continues.

If the Breakfast Club were to be remade today
It would be a silent film about 5 kids, staring at their phones

at a gas station in Northglenn today off 112th, I pulled up to a pump and a red buick of sorts pulled up to the other pump to my left. Passenger got out and walked in, then the guy driving starts looking at me and my car, then I see him glancing around really nervously, looking over his shoulder and then inside the gas station and then back at me as I'm starting the pump. I got the sudden feeling a gas station robbery was about to go down.
While the pump was still going I nonchalantly opened my passenger door and started throwing trash away, slung my purse over my neck across my body and undid the snap button on my carry holster. Guy kept looking at me and then back inside, two other people walked in about that time and then I saw him shake his head no and he pulled the car around by the door and pulled a little past it and sat there. The other guy walked out and got in and they drove off. Thought of getting the license plate but since nothing happened, I didnt.
I went in after I finished fueling and asked the clerk if the one guy bought anything and he said no, he just walked around looking for something and then left. I was gonna buy a coke and get cash back to go wash my car but they didnt do cash back so I left.
I don't know if they got nervous, or too many people were in there or what, but my heart was racing like crazy. First time I've ever had that feeling but their body language was not setting off good vibes at all.

Going with your gut is always a good move. Too many people today choose to ignore a bad situation and retreat into normalcy bias.

SA is priceless.
Feels good when you're paying attention.....and being aware that there is a potential threat that might have to be dealt with.
The biggest thing is I'm glad nothing shitty happened and all turned out well at that time.

Family left for vacation and I'm home ready to leave for a short trip to Tennessee tomorrow. Very quiet when you're home alone. Did everyone head out of town for the weekend? I wonder how traffic will be tomorrow.

Get on Backpage and order the hookers. Call a pizza joint and get the "other" pie coming.

I work tomorrow then driving to Moab after work and camping on the Colorado river for the night. Arches on Sunday. Ridgway and Ouray on Monday. meandering my way back through Colorado on Tuesday.
Right now I-70 is closed in Debeque because a damn vehicle fire sparked a brush fire and they have yet to contain it. That's all we need right now is a wildfire with how dry it is in the mountains. May have to take an alternate route through Glenwood Springs down to the SW then go thru GJ via 50. ugh. That'll ensure I dont make Moab tomorrow night.

Yeah....they leave in an hour or two, you take a good dump in the morning and you have some left overs for lunch tomorrow.
What's the problem?
