Warm, fat and lazy.
Crawled under the truck today to replace some locking nuts for the steering stabilizer the shop didn't have new when they installed my upgraded steering. The NAPA bag they gave me a few days later ended up having the wrong nuts. Thankfully, we have a semi-real hardware store here in Murdoch's and I was able to find metric lockers and right sized flat washers, stainless no less. Alas, they did not have the locking flanged nuts I was after in stainless. I should have just gotten the regular as I put anti-seize all over the exposed threads anyway.
I asked three different people (kids) where the anti-seize was and got the deer in the headlights look. Found some my damn self over by the oils and stuff. The next guy that aligns this thing should thank me and knock $ off the bill.

I hope you can find some.
I also thought you were running .260 for some stuff.
Yeah I run .260 in my LMT MWS. By sizing up brass (6mm/.243 up to 6.5mm) it reduces the amount of cold work on the brass, which prevents a bit of hardness. The plentiful brass (LC12LR) is 7.62mm/.308, so the neck can get a bit thick. I've tried neck turning, and it only reduced the ES by about 10fps.
I think the greatest variation from bullet to bullet starts with consistent loading. That can't happen when I'm constantly taking the dies off and on my single stage. The turret press is probably going to be the real ticket to starting to get the load consistent. That and having consistent brass.
Im also thinking that my loads are running too hot, so I'll try and give it a bit of a break by reducing the load a bit. Groups at 100 aren't that bad, but they could be better. Mix the 100 yd zero thing with a (unacceptable) SD and ES in the ammo, and its a recipe for frustration at the match in a couple weeks.

Did you setup with rare earth magnets for Denver trips or are you gonna chance it and try plate in the windshield?
Super glue? Duct tape?, cotter pins? Midget?
FWIW, front plate is a gray area but I've been running without for 11 years and through several stops never had an issue.
The one time I parked on the street in Denver - and well out of downtown - I was ticketed for no front plate.
On a handful of occasions after, when forced to park on street, I put it in on the dash and didn't have an issue again. Others have reported problems with this downtown. They're real pricks about it.
I found out the hard way you also cannot display a for sale sign if parked on the street in Denver. I was driving a company vehicle and working at the time, parked at a meter for 2 hours and got nailed for it. Ignorance of the law is no excuse, but that was total BS.

I took the plate off last summer. I've been driving since 2003, and only ever got hit with a front plate ticket when I was parked in LoDo. I just don't go there anymore :P

[ROFL1] Belly. That's not surprising and you're a demanding whore. You're talking about a maximum 2.5% deviation on a few statistical outliers. Most of them fall within 0.02% of the designated mass and that is most likely explained by YOUR scale being off. I want to see the histogram. I bet it's a near perfect bell curve with only a few 0.1 g deviation at the min and max confidence intervals.
Oh and just take that batch you have that's within 0.02% and shoot those in your match!

I know a few BR shooters that do it. Some even weight primers. The discrepancy of bullet weight AND bullet OAL, is what got me out of the game, the first time.

I play law of averages here.
when four different scales, one of them being a beam scale (can't screw with gravity), all say the same thing.... I think it's not my equipment.
Speaking of gravity, we have bronze USGS marker plates permanently emplaced in the ground at work that show the exact gravitational constant at those locations.

I have also noticed quite a few weight differences in Barnes. I think it's the no lead part. Copper to me seems to heavy one time and light the next. But they all go down range. I wouldn't recommend Barnes for competition shooting. But I do use them for hunting. Dead animals always prove they work.

Yea, I've read that BR shooters really weigh everything. I may try it eventually to see if it really affects accuracy, but I have a feeling, I'm still too much of a newb to long range shooting that it won't help me for at least a few years.

Actually, I can screw with gravity and screw with it quite easily.
Did you realize your beam scale is probably setup for sea level? Granted, you're only 750ft above sea level so the variation in the scale due to gravity is less than 0.001 (gravity at 35k ft is 0.997 the actual value). But we're talking serious numbers here...

I haven't gotten into the volumetric weights of internal case capacities....yet.
concentricity might change, but with different weights, the balance of the spinning bullet about its axis PROBABLY is not close enough to keep the bullet on a target at distance....unless the target is the barn wall, and your distance is 'from inside the barn'.

That's making the assumption the barn doors are closed and the barn does not have any other missing pieces in its shell...
Well who wants to buy a CNC and start churning out some perfect bullets?! [pick-me]
Okay okay, I want to buy a CNC for a whole heck of a lot more than just making bullets. But maybe after this semester is over, because I have access to 5 full CNC's and 3 CNC Machining Stations (they just ask you to insert the next tool instead of auto-loading).

I got into this pretty heavily since we got back from Jolly Ole. I'm shooting in the Bushnell Brawl in a couple weeks, and during my training, I found out that I was missing targets at distances I should hit. There were a couple bench rest guys at the range and we figured out my ammo was not right.
