My frustration at Optics Planet not having the range finder I ordered in stock (my fault for assuming everything is like Amazon) is greatly tempered by the fact that I'm getting it for $100 less than I can find anywhere else.
If and when it arrives. OPlanet is like the bargain bin of online shopping, it never tells you when it will be delivered. Only that your order was placed, maybe . They had a deal on something everyone else was $80ish higher, placed order.
2 days later receive notice. You item is scheduled for delivery in
6-8 weeks
Whoa, got this in the mail today. Looks pretty official. Guess who's getting a great deal on a loan?!

I pre-approve you for hand sanitizer. That envelope looks disgusting.
I was thinking that as I posted the photo. Keeping animal hair out of anything in our house is a lost cause.
I can buy replacement parts for our microwave for around $170 or buy a new one for just a bit more. It is an over the range set-up, which I'm not looking forward to installing. What do you think?
Fix it and keep on moving!
New ones are easy to install as long as you dont need to make the opening in the cabinet wider
I can actually buy a new one for about the same price since what I have now isn't a fancy model to begin with. I'm a big fan of fixing stuff, but even if I pick something up for $200, that's also removing all the built up grease that is impossible to clean from my use, and the people who had it before us.
Hmmmm....
I think you know your answer. You're replacing one part, I assume? If cost = same, why fix?
Three parts, but I agree.
What parts would be left to replace which likely would go out in the future?
What is the end of life on parts if you buy new (i.e., when can you expect any replaceable part to fail?)?
What is more likely to last longer: the repaired or the new?
Quick question, are the saw blade and guard supposed to overlap like that?

Regarding the microwave. Unless it's a non electrical part, there's a few high voltage areas that could light you up. But hey, you're meticulous so no problem .
It's just a plastic grill, the glass plate, and the plastic track that supports the plate. Those things shouldn't cost anywhere near that much.
That's not a bad idea. I always forget about eBay.

RE: that saw, we almost had a "Don't duct tape your saw guard out of the way" PSA the other day.I have made more than 10 miles of cuts with a circular saw, never once found a situation that gaurd had to be taped/wired open or out of the way.
I definitely should have just used my radial arm saw.

Quick local news story I saw less than 30 minutes ago.
Story, fracking near school (minimum distances etc)
Mom and kids playing at school playground bitching about fracking near schools....
Some other "school official lady" flapping off about "kid safety, environment blah blah".
Back to Mom playing with the kids, it's getting dark and they want to go home now cause it's getting pretty cold.
Closing scene is Mom saying "Lets go home and turn on the fireplace". WTF?
Sounds like they're fixing to walk home and click the on the GAS fireplace when they walk in the door. GFY.
Well, I'll tell you what I think happened. I was cutting up a cherry tree to use for my smoker and I had the guard taped back so I could just plunge cut over and over. I was holding the tree with one hand and the saw with the other. I was getting confident and going fast and I think that I put enough lateral pressure onto the saw that the blade flexed into the guard.

Night Chick!
Night for me after I finish up my Waffle House food
Is it normal for me to not be able to find info about which model of comp or brake to get for my can? Are the proprietary comps/brakes for QD suppressors not really ever tested?
Found an hour long video of testing 44 different brakes/comps. None are what I'll be getting. Ultimately it won't matter because I have zero experience with anything beyond an A2 flash hider, and I'll have the can by then anyway. Plus, I'll find out first hand when I install everything myself.

What center fire can and what long gun it going on ? I like running brakes on any long gun that's getting suppressed .
Get lightweight brakes.
"This brake has 1lb of less force! I"ve measured it.
You should try it!"
Because it weighs about 1/3 )lbs at the end of the barrel....
Proprietary brakes for the can so it doesn't really matter. There are a few different choices though. OSS Helix 762 is the can. I've got a year to figure it out.

Rain in Tucson in December. Weird.
You ever see the UPS truck driving up the street and get that feeling in your stomach? But then it does a U-turn and speeds off before it gets to you?
Then you realize that you probably haven't ordered anything anyway, but you're never really sure.

I trimmed the collection down years ago and kept only the TOTL and or TOTL -1 pieces, or those especially rare or dear to me.
Alas, I sold off so much so fast, I miscounted one item and came up short with only one special pre-amp when I wanted to keep two of them.

Doing some research on higher end shock dynamics, I've definitely learned some things I didn't know about. The shocks I want are really good, but now I also know more about how and why that stuff does what it can when the proper springs give it the chance to do what it's capable of. I'll most likely be relocating the shock mounting locations as well as getting new softer rear leaf springs.

Neighbor down the road came home the other night around 10:30. He said as they turned the corner (about 900' from here) there sat a mountain lion in the middle of the street. Hanging out , seeing what Christmas displays he liked.
Explains why the dogs went ballistic the other night, charging the fence line. If the skunk population dwindles some, i might leave a beef bone or 2 in the easement for him.
You're heading down a rabbit hole there brother.
lol
Mountain Lion supposedly tastes wonderful and the closest thing it can be compared to is pork.
Also, Merry Christmas.

Well after 4 years I finally have another build at 95%, just need the BCG. Total invested cost of $285 (again still have to pick up bcg). I would have been cheaper but the wife being the sweetheart she is bought me a fancy SI CH.

Not yet.
I don't want to go where you're thinking, ... I only want to do this once. I have to buy shocks because it has none, and I wont compromise to save a buck and have a rough ride after the fact. I'm doing research and will talk with some pretty bright minds who know what they're doing when it comes to it.
At least the money I spent on the Alcan springs for the front has proven to be worth it, they were designed for my year model with a 7.3 weight in mind. I don't mind spending money if stuff is right, but I won't if the outcome isn't going to be what I want. Moving shock mounts on the frame is no big deal, and changing 39 year old leaf springs doesn't really seem to that bad of an idea to me.
These aren?t too bad of a deal either.

USPS tracking is like tracking Santa?s sleigh. I once had a package coming from Kansas arrive in Denver, then it went to Salt Lake City, then to some place in Montana, then back through Salt Lake City before arriving at my house. At least according to their tracking. I kind of believe it though since the item I ordered showed up about eight days after it shipped from Kansas.

I sold a Benchmade recently, and USPS did something similar, despite the buyer having the same tracking info as I did, he was still sweating me about the delay, what a pain in the ass, which is one of the reasons shipping is a last resort for me.
Just call Santa and have him ship your stuff on his sleigh.

As far as the ham steak question, as long as you serve it to your guest then there?s no limit on the brown.
Now, if you are planning on eating it yourself then obviously you need to draw a line somewhere.

When in doubt, sniff it out. If it sends enough warning up your nose to retch. Best bet is to toss it, or give it to the cluckers.

My wife has a terrible nose, can’t tell roses from shit. The sweet girl tried to cook some chicken breast that was past it’s date “but smelled ok”. I’ve never been one to find odors offensive (and I work around some terrible smells), but I took a deep whiff of the sizzling skillet and had my first ever experience with odor-induced, repetitive, involuntary, balls-in-your throat, retching. At that point, it was clearly beyond trying to say she did good and choke it down to spare her feelings. Now she has me pre-approve all chicken before she cooks it.

Hahahahaha. I know exactly what you're talking about in being new to that feeling. I also have a sensitive nose, but am robust with the things I can smell since I sniff everything. One time, I found a tupperware under the front seat of my wife's care that had been there at least a week and was from some egg breakfast. This was in the summer. I thought I was being funny and I told her, "Hey hun, smell this!" and I popped that tupperware open and took a big whiff and had the same reaction as you did.

That’s funnier, because it was a prank! [ROFL2]
Prepping rifle brass sucks balls. I sized, deprimed, and trimmed something like 160 cases, then prepped (debur, chamfer neck and primer pocket, clean primer pocket) another 100 or so, and it took me something like two hours. Every thing I have is powered! Granted not great, but still better than manual. I've got an RCBS Trim Pro 2 hooked up to a drill, and that RCBS power mate or whatever with the five stations to debur and chamfer. Next time I'm rich, I'm probably going to look into some faster solutions. Heck, I haven't even started on .308 and .300 blk yet.
Well, she was probably never going to take a sniff since she knew better (and can't do smells at all compared to me), but after I about ended up doubled over just trying to be funny, she sure wasn't going to try.

Look into wet tumbling your brass, no need to clean primer pockets...
But yes, fully processing rifle brass that has to be trimmed as well sucks (one of the reasons I am making the jump to 1050's, it can handle a bunch of steps just by pulling the handle).

Nobody eh?I sleep in on Thursdays (most wouldn't call 6:30 sleeping in).
Good morning.
Tumbling is my first step, so unless wet tumbling cleans the pockets with the primer in place, it wouldn't matter. I never clean pistol primer pockets, but since I've already got the machine on, and the primer brush is one inch from the swager, I've been doing it.

Buy a take off dillon rt1200 trimmer, slap it on the 550 in station 3 and you're gtg. Unless you're going to do 300 blk, then buy the 1500. You can step up your game with the Giraud but that takes you to another level of reloading.
The dillon's trim but not chamfer the neck, the Giraud does all of it. IMO, only rifle brass that's being loaded with flat bass bullets should be chamfered, unless you're into the high power, prs game.
I dont know which food is worse.

There's a "Chinese Restaurant" in town, everything is listed as being in a brown(bean) sauce. The only difference between the Lo Mein and Chow Mein was the price. Wife said it was the Golden Corral of Chinese food.
The owner asked us How was your meal? I said let me in the kitchen and i'll show you how to make what's supposed to be on the menu.
I'd order sushi from Jack in the Box's late night menu, before we ate there again.
