Savage has a really neat way of attaching barrels to their actions. I know a guy that can replicate that in a Remington action, so that it doesn't take a gunsmith and several hundred dollars to have a new barrel screwed on correctly.

Had a freak out session today when my reloading scale wouldn't hold zero, it kept drifting and a 168gr bullet was weighing 272gr, even after calibration with a 20g weight.

Turns out, the scale was just cold. [facepalm]

Yea, well when you add powder to a 308 case and it doesn't even fill half the case and the scale reads 62 grains, even a beginner reloading can put 2 and 2 together.

(was adjusting my powder dropper to drop 36gr charges so I could then just trickle the last few grains for my various loads)

The conversation started because we were frustrated with the influences that teachers, textbooks, and public schools in general can have on kids... basically controlling the development of their minds... And we don't want anyone else to have that kind of power over our kids. Maybe we're crazy, but in any case, it's a long ways off still and I think we are going to keep our options open.
