pickle tickle (http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=pickle+tickle&defid=745091)

Damn! Just turned down a job offer that included a 25% increase in pay. It also meant a lot of windshield time and away from the family time. Also would have meant taking on a boss (currently I only report to the County Commission), a set schedule (right now I make my own), made me an exempt employee (with 40+ hr weeks quite common), and would have meant me abandoning some projects I've been working on for years. The thing is, I'm very comfortable and happy where I am. Hope I made the right choice.....

Shit, it was a lot of money.... At least with this job, I can probably take of early today and go drink.

if you are HAPPY doing what you are doing, and can live within your means (not struggling paycheck to paycheck) then you made the good choice.

Yeah, I agree with you here. Probably the biggest part of my choice, (aside from being happy) is that right now, I am the top of the totem pole (aside from elected officials) This new position would have put me further back down the pole. Plus I would have gone from working for little .Gov (county- the least evil of the .Govs) to a bigger .Gov (state- a far more evil and incompetent .Gov)

DMV story.....I have to go get my drivers license renewed. Left work today and headed up to 119 th and Washington Street.

Not only was the clientele slum-like, the employees that were there, royally sucked major monkey ass. I was there at 12:30 today, and they said it was a FOUR HOUR WAIT. Thirty minutes into my dismal experience, only TWO employees were actively operating their stations....2 out of 10. Fuck yourself, you assholes.

I'm sorry, but if I have enough time to drive to fucking Grand Junction before you can renew my drivers license, you fags have a serious fucking problem. I'll never attempt accomplishing anything at that location for the rest of my life.

It rivaled the NYE [ish] show when this unknown band (to some) AEROSMITH opened for BLACK SABBATH when OZZY was lead 1975. 2 songs in to SABBATHS set, the crowd was still calling for AEROSMITH.

Now it's 2/2006 at which time AEROSMITH was on tour. For my 50 something bday. The spouse took me to CA & Las Vegas. Where it so happened Aerosmith was doing what would become a short tour year due to issues with Tylers "voice"
It was almost song for song (what i remember) anyways of their show back in 75 when they opened for SABBATH. Only much longer.

Opening act was Lenny Kravits (son of The Jeffersons) Helen Willis / Roxie Roker. While not a fan of Kravits. i will say he gave the crowd their monies worth AND MORE. To say i was impressed is an understatement. Even more ironic. The crowd was calling for more from him after his 3rd encore. Impressive.
Even more impressive. the area we were seated. EVERYONE was the same age demographic. When he played American Woman 1/2 doz ladies began to remove tops etc.

Yes that was an good concert. One couple asked the spouse and i IF we'd like to come back to their place and "party, if we knew what she meant"
The wife felt the trip AND concert was more than enough of a present for me.

Thus ends this tale of a few concerts spanning 32+ years.

Tell me about memory. I'd seen BOC a year or two before as I recall. I did not see the B&B tour. I shipped out for basic in Jan 1980. Except for a few concerts in DE, Rush who I'd seen a few times before, at a small venue being my favorite memory, that was the end of my frequent concert days for about 10 years.

Alice Cooper
Cheap Trick
Fleetwood Mac
Uriah Heep

There were some good tracks on Heaven and Hell, I've always liked RJDio. For being 4' 11'', that dude could belt out some lyrics. Big fan of Holy Diver and Last in Line.

My concert experiences were a couple of years behind you guys, but not by too much. One of my earlier concerts was the Rolling Stones up at C.U. when I was about 13, at the time they touted it as the "final tour"...ha. Thorogood and Heart and a few others were there. That would have been in '79 ish I think. Most of my concert days were through the 80's.

AC/DC
Judas Priest
Kiss
Dio
Def Leppard
Motley Crue
Yngwie Malmsteen
Ratt
..and my brain is forgetting some others...

Sunday number 1 or Monsters of Rock at the old Mile High stadium...Van Halen and Scorpions and Metallica and some others were there. Metallica blew everyone away, it was bad ass. Might have been '88 or so. Two years ago I saw the Crue at Fiddlers and Scorpions at the Rocks....I'm too old for weeknight concerts anymore, dammit.

Probably gonna see the Doobie Brothers here in a month or two, they're in for a Gala that I've been attending for the last four or so years. Some of the previous bands have sucked there, and I missed the Garth Brooks one, and I heard it was a really good performance by him.

Went to see Rush they were promoting their new release, 2112. They were the opening band for STYX ! It was another great concert.
One of the worst was the Allman brothers. Duane was more fucked up than i was. Which was bad considering people didn't pay to see me perform.

If you think those taxes are going back in to the education system, i suggest you follow the trail. Roads, utilities, ADMINISTRATIVE COST are way up the tax chain before education.. A portion of your taxes (in newer developing) neighborhoods / Covenant controlled. Go to paying off the bonds and loans the developers took out. They also pay for road upkeep within the development. A buyer in an already developed neighborhood will pay less in taxes than one who purchased at the beginning of the build.

Well, unless the county is lying, then my tax statement tells me exactly what is going where. About 1/3 goes to maintaining roads and drainage, about 1/3 goes to schools, and the rest goes to the city, the county, some parks project, and a roads renovation project.

That's funny. I always marveled when they started the "Water run-off" tax. You can't save it because the state claims it but if you have more than X% of your property covered by roof or concrete you get taxed for giving it back to them. Catch 22.[Flower]

The mirror (glass) is better than anything we can produce today. Sure, the telescope weighs about 80 tons MORE than necessary and yes, there are focus/slewing backlash concerns but we are capable of eliminating those issues with clever servo engineering and lookup tables. It's also one of the only (if not the only) wide field capable telescope in the southern hemisphere. Since the instrument is $6M, the survey costs ~$10M (for operational costs through 2020), it is ridiculous to spend $100-250M to build a telescope for exactly what we need when what exists works perfectly fine!

Oh yea, and [Kick1]

It's also one of the only (if not the only) wide field capable telescope in the southern hemisphere. Since the instrument is $6M, the survey costs ~$10M (for operational costs through 2020), it is ridiculous to spend $100-250M to build a telescope for exactly what we need when what exists works perfectly fine!

Found this earlier on McMaster:

SS Socket Head Cap Screw - Full Threads - 92196A623
18-8 Stainless - 3/8"-16 x 7/8" - Qty=10. Price: $5.58.

Mil-Spec Socket Head Cap Screws - Full Threads - 92200A678
300 Series Stainless Steel - 3/8"-16 x 7/8" - Qty=1. Price = $7.70.

And for the record, 18-8 stainless is a 300 series stainless... So the same thing...

If you ever tell me something like, "He isn't good at answering his phone, you should text him, he's really good at texting," and are referring to a fucking adult, living on their own in a house you own in a different state, then fuck that adult.

If you ever send me an email along the lines of "so and so is 21 years-old and can't be having an at-fault accident following him around for the rest of his life," then also fuck you. Zero sympathy for adults that can't handle their own business.

I had my annual physical, but there were circumstances that meant I needed a comPLEAT physical and workup. They found things that I didn't know existed. It was a shock to hear that there are 18 things wrong enough with me that I no longer meet the medical retention standards required by regulation.

My BIL was diagnosed with leukemia on 12/29. Big shock to all of us. Turns out its intermediate stage. He spent all of January in hospital on base, just got home last Thurs night. Gets to experience a bone marrow transplant next and more chemo to upkeep remission.

While some are worried about PWT'ing other like the spouse and i enjoy the wafting smell of a pork roast on the smoker. Been using a few different recipes. This time went with one MAP / Mike used. 1hr on smoke, 5+ @ 225. Removed last night, cut and also pulled about 30min ago. 5lb'er took an hour to take down. Had to take breaks every so often from munching while cutting. Forget dinner i'm full BURP ;)

Remember, the prupose of an Army is to win a war so convincingly that the once-enemy never forgets and refuses to engage in war with you again.

Shit on their faces, runny nasty diahrea shit. While they're sleeping. That'll teach 'em. Anyone that says that I'm being too tough is simply a racist and lacks any sort of courage to win a REAL war. <---sarcasm. don't poop on childrens' faces.
