Honestly? Feeling like I'm going crazy.

Realized last night the telescope control software doesn't work the way I remembered, sent an email out about it and one of the chief engineers said thats how it's always behaved. Then today, I realized it doesn't make a beep anymore when clicking a button to technically stop the telescope from moving (where you are then required to re-initialize the telescope before moving). Now, you can stop it and slew all day long without having to re-initialize the telescope.

The worst part is, I can't determine if this is a good or a bad thing. At face value, it seems bad, but I can't say if that's just because I'm used to the old way or what.

And you? How's the shoulder doin'?

BuffCyclist
09-01-2013, 19:08
Also, super anxious to pick up my M&P40c Tues or Wed, depending on what works best for my FFL. I'm hoping he says Tues, don't think I can wait another day for it lol.

OtterbatHellcat
09-01-2013, 19:11
Shoulder.... nowhere near full range yet. I'd say about 50% range of motion, and not all under it's own power. My best motion is (think curls) up and down like that... all other motions require assistance.

It's coming along though. I look forward to it being normal again.

BuffCyclist
09-01-2013, 19:12
Besides, if I get it Tuesday, I can take it to the range on Wed. If I get it on Wed, I'll have to wait until the following week to take it to the range.

Yeah, you're getting pretty antsy about that and the holster, aren't cha?

BuffCyclist
09-01-2013, 19:15
Well thats good that you're regaining ROM. I know its a slow process, but regaining ROM can't be pushed or more injuries happen and thats the worst part.

I can straighten my leg fully, bending it is still a little tight, but it definitely feels better the past few days than it has been. I'm starting to do strength exercises now to regain my quad muscles and thats feels wonderful. Also getting to ride for 20min on my trainer each day which is amazing as it feels like forever since I've been on my bike.

Close to 50% isn't horrible at the one month mark though, I don't think.

BuffCyclist
09-01-2013, 19:24
That it is, which is why I'll probably never be able to get a suppressor or SBR. My fiancee would probably kill me because I'd annoy her everyday saying how anxious I was to get it [LOL]

Not at all, that's pretty good! I'm only 2 weeks and a few days out from mine and I can already walk without a limp so I feel like I'm making fast progress. I think that another 2 weeks and I'll be nearly fully recovered. A colleague mentioned he tore his meniscus a few years back and after the surgery, was back running trails in 6wks.

Hey, I used to live over there! Well, about another mile east of that Perkins, but it was close!

They suck. At least with a shoulder issue you can still walk around and do errands and whatnot. With an injured knee, walking becomes a huge hurdle, which makes you sit on the couch all the time and drives you insane.

But, I think I've used up my meniscus enough and can't tear it again (at least the right knee lateral meniscus). They're repaired it twice now for two different tears and this time, he cut out the excess meniscus that I had, so now I have a normal sized meniscus. Which means if I tear it again, they'll cut out more which leads to earlier onset of arthritis. Granted, I'll still have arthritis in that knee in 5-10yrs, I actually already have signs of it.

After my knee op, I got into breaking bad. Well, watching season 1 years ago and didn't really get hooked.

They can look at the cartilage and see it starting to soften and wear down. In several areas, it looks almost frayed. It showed up in the MRI and the radiologist caught it and the doc confirmed it with pictures during the surgery, that he printed out and gave to me, which I'm not gonna lie is pretty awesome!

eta: The pictures are awesome, not the onset of arthritis at 28yo.

Well, I do have bad knee days, where it just aches all day. Not enough to make me avoid walking, but its enough to be an annoyance. I also had severe pain if I tried running up stairs or taking stairs two at a time. Something about the stress in the knee while it was bent that much was causing the pain.

I am definitely getting intrigued by the 300 blackout cartridge. Especially since i'm setup to reload, and how it uses less powder than 223. I might just have to build myself an upper for it. But a 16" upper seems a little silly as its meant for short barrels.

Nightforce are frickin beefy scopes. Truly professional grade.

i doubt very much there will a run on 308 bolt guns

most people are way more worried about ARs

savage makes a good rifle - i'd get a savage if i couldn't find a remington - you can find almost anything on gun broker

i did a search for remington 700 sps on gun broker - http://www.gunbroker.com/All/BI.aspx?Keywords=remington+700+sps - these prices are not local gun store prices - locals cost a little more b/c they include the shipping in their prices

If he wants a 750+ rifle with excellent accuracy out of the box, look into the Sig Sauer SSG3000... Granted, it'll set you back about $1200-1400, but it apparently scored very high marks in a long range rifle review recently.

Well, today is 9/1, so 3 months is 12/1. Christmas is on the 25th, and if you assume 30 days in a month, that's 5/6th of a new month and DOH, I was wrong! 5/6 is 0.833, so Christmas is technically only 3.833 months away... [panic]

Not a bad idea!

My co-worker told me that he saw an Rem700 SPS (non-varmint) for $400 at Walmart and nearly snatched it up, but was going out of town and didn't want to blow his money. When he got back, he decided to go grab it and they sold that one and the other one they had jumped to like $565 or something. He was kicking himself for passing on it.

He keeps telling me to browse the rifles in the display cases when I'm there, but I never have that much toy money sitting around to buy on a whim. I'd have to save up for it then hunt one down.

I'll put $10 on Wednesday sometime between 6:00 am and Midnight MST.

Yup, one instrument requires our attention only once every 65min or so. The other takes 15min integration and with the clouds and wind we have, the signal we're getting is so low we'll be sitting on each target for about 90min.

I don't know, doesn't the US Govt operate on EST?

Nope, not to me.

The latest stuff that I've seen is definitely saying the strikes, even though congress isn't back yet, could be as early as this wednesday too... And I'd guess it'll be in the middle of the night and we wake up to WW3.

The many different outcomes are a definitely a little scary in all seriousness.

Sometimes I really don't mind the idea of all this horseshit coming to an end.

Mainly because of hope that whoever starts shit up again, does a better job than we did.

BuffCyclist

Fair enough. I tend to prefer MST too, but only because I can never remember the other time zones.

BuffCyclist

Horseshit being the civil war in Syria, or TEOTWAWKI?

You don't know what TEOTWAWKI is?!

No, the "yeah" part of my post should have kinda cleared that up a little.

BuffCyclist

Not a bad idea. I meant more of the repercussions. We attack, they defend and hit a ship. We go to war, Syria attacks Israel, Israel attacks Syria, Iran activates sleepers in the US. China dumps our debt, huge fiscal crisis in US. People panic and start buying shit before money is worthless. Causes shortages of gas and other resources. Sleepers target huge populations, rescue crews can't get in due to lack of gas etc.

Or, we attack, turn it all to glass, russia says we can't come to olympics and we all cheer!

Just start posting random stellar theorems and calculations. They'll understand your jibberish just as well as my non-sensical grabbage.
