Yuck. Sorry man. I'm home with HB Jr right now. I'm pretty sure he has impetigo. We spent 3 hours last night bleaching and sanitizing the entire house, both cars, every towel, blanket, clothing item, etc. I'm basically taking shots of hand sanitizer as a precaution... Also, he has an ear infection and have 2 molars breaking through. Not fun for anyone. :(

Got some stuff straightened out with the lender and realtor for buying. If we clear up our 2nd on the house, which we planned to do anyways, I can FHA qualify for up to $325. I'd never buy that high, don't want a $2,100 a month mortgage....but, that does mean that I can look at better stuff. My guy is gonna load me up on Saturday and show me 12-15 properties I guess. If I do find something really good for me....I'll refinance after this place sells, go conventional and pay a big chunk of it off. Lender said she could work it all out without paying all the retarded fees and stuff.

Just found out today that my lawyer didn't initiate communication with cbi when I first called them about my problem...the firm was busy defending some 2nd degree murder case in Pueblo for a couple weeks or something...so the letter went out today..now I can wait another 3 weeks or a month waiting on an answer about whatever the problem is. Good thing is that he said I could still carry and go about my business as usual regardless of the letter cbi sent me.

Base your next purchase on 1/2 of what you bring home now. Don't listen to a sales person telling you what you can afford. Listen to what you say you can.

Irving, I've messed with some alternate tunings but not drop tunings yet. The rhythm in that song doesn't sound hard to play at all, I'm sure I could play it if I could practice it a little. Interesting lyrics. Vincent has me focusing on scale patterns, and practicing them from the highest root down right now...unfortunately though, my studies are lacking due to the commotion going on in my life right now. Did you select that song intentionally for the question? cause the lyrics could align with my mess a little bit, kinda.

Yeah, looked messy when I got to the office about half hour later. Was down town on the fifth floor of a retirement community under construction when the sirens went off. It was a new and kinda freaky sensation for me. I am used to either watching them from the porch(ready to dart to the cellar if needed) or trying to catch a storm and get in front of it to take pics/video.

Glad I don't live in the city.

FINALLY!

I snuck off this morning for an hour and got the boat in the water for a checkout at Cherry Creek (aka Why Bother Lake).

Everything seems tip top for the most part. Starboard engine runs about 100RPM lower than the port engine at WOT. 6500/6400 and they're reported to run 6800 at sea level.

43.1MPH on the GPS with a full tank most of our normal gear less coolers, and just the wifey and I onboard. Sure does turn quick.

let the wife back the trailer in to load and still have my sanity. barely. I let her be until I got ugly and she got sideways too close to the dock. hard to imagine she used to drive a big "bus" (bambulance.)

Denver Zoo has a few of those.. along w/ the Wildlife Experience down in parker.. Art & Ale is pretty fun.. so is brew at the zoo. Art & Ale a few of the hotels do a deal for a ticket and a room..and it's wonderful. Get blasted and taken back to your room with a bunch of other drunk people. Have not really seen any drama go down as the crowds tend to be more professionals than your typical bar scene... I think a few years ago when I went it was $120? for the night that included tickets and breakfast the next morning. Worth it imo as a taxi and tickets would have been more. Didn't see any stay and play things for brew at the zoo though. Not really sure I'd want to stay at any of the close by hotels for that.

Sorry to hear. But stop using your bank card for anything but the ATM. Use a CC with miles/rewards and religiously pay it off each and every month from your checking/savings.

Keep your checking low if you can. I keep the bulk of my bank funds in a savings account and transfer if needed. Just have to watch I don't hit the bank's monthly account transfer limits.

Roger that...this is gonna be a whirlwind of stuff going on for a couple of months for sure. I know I ain't the first guy to do this, it's just new to me.

What rings are you using? How are they getting torqued down?

When I first set it up, I didn't have an in/pd torque wrench here at home....I just snugged it up good, I thought. HCWT told me some time back to use locktite and torque it down, and I didn't heed that advice. I'll not make that mistake again. The main issue though, was the mount to the rail. Spotter kept saying "to the right", and I dialed all of the lateral to the left and was still "right". Stopped and realized you could see that the scope wasn't in line with the gun. Repositioned on the rail a few times, etc...and then ran out of ammo.

No pitchfork or overalls for me. I'm sitting on the couch in my pjs waiting for Mrs HB to get ready. We are heading up to Highlands Ranch to visit some friends that we don't get to see very much and have a BBQ. Hopefully the weather stays nice.

Tomorrow I'm going to have to get my lawn mower working... I haven't used it in over a year and a half and I really doubt it's going to start up and run problem-free. Rain...dammit. We had a bout of it roll through here an hour ago, but has since cleared up and ain't bad outside now.

I shit on my neighbor and didn't show up over there....had to get lunches and breakfasts together for the week. I know he'll understand, but he's already bummed out about me leaving the hood. He's a good guy...I'll miss him when I do get out of here.

I don't count, i weight them. See how many = 1/2 lb. weigh another 1/2lb. toss them in a can on the scale that's been zero'd. GTG.

Don't have scale anymore. The one we had crapped out couple years ago. Never got around to replacing it.

Have an old beam scale dad gave me long time ago. Was missing most of the plates. Always planned to make my own plates, never got around to that either.

Rounds 20-40 for minion #1. 10 year old, first time shooting with optic. Savage 64 with Remington 3-9×32.

Had a really good time at the range today. Good experince for #1minion. He was almost perfect in safety and etiquette. Got to point out some examples of good people to be at the range with and some bad examples to stay away from.

The punks at the opposite end of 25 yd range learned a hard lesson about shooting at damaged steel. After I had already warned them about it they decided to shoot it anyway and on the third round one of the group caught a piece of shrapnel right below the eye (no safety glasses of course), nasty little gash should get him 3-4 stitches.

It is an old torn up and trashed dueling tree somebody just left behind. When we left I tied on to it with chain and dragged it off to the side of range. Left a note in comments box about it.

Tomorrow I'm going to have to get my lawn mower working... I haven't used it in over a year and a half and I really doubt it's going to start up and run problem-free. It's had gas sitting in it, which I'm sure is all gummed up by now... But I don't know a lot about engines, so I might be asking the internet for help. [Dunno]
And the mower started right up and ran fine! Stinks a lot and smoked a little, but it worked!

These afternoon showers have really been annoying. That's often my most productive time outdoors. Not so much last week.

Finally managed to get some work done on the roof of the rv.

You'll get lucky one or maybe two years but if you don't use some stabil in that fuel system, it will catch up to you. You might even throw a little seafoam in one tank to clean things out.

Right on, for Minion #1, Lobo.

Good thing he has you to help him do right while handling firearms, good shooting too. When we were shooting at the kids Mom's place yesterday, another co worker came out with his oldest boy, he's about 14 I think. His dad called me later to thank us for inviting them out there...and mentioned that when they were leaving the property, his boy told him that he had a lot of respect me and the kid, for always calling out "cold" or "hot" and following good safety rules when you're not at a range with someone making you do it. I thought that was cool.

OtterbatHellcat

Glad your mower fired up HB.

When this place sells, I might have a John Deere 500X riding mower 42" 3 blade deck.....with a dual stage snow blower attachment available........if anyone's interested in something like that.

I was on my feet from 10 am to about 9 pm today. Started with women's self defense class and then went into hours and hours of yard work after that. I'll put up some pictures.

Fence. Those vines all the way down the side of the house are gone.
https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-oA_2vZrLrCI/U4Ovq528u3I/AAAAAAAAJus/yq_m2EzyUUA/w999-h562-no/20140526_151732.jpg

Other side of same fence. That grape vine and trellis are down now. It was too dark to even take a picture when I was done.
https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-jpR-QzFUkKM/U4PHMGBby_I/AAAAAAAAJvc/9ZNnkJSIEe0/w999-h562-no/20140526_165847_Richtone%2528HDR%2529.jpg
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-YQt6Pr91_eY/U4Pq1Lz0o0I/AAAAAAAAJwg/EiOQt679A6Y/w999-h562-no/20140526_203054_Richtone%2528HDR%2529.jpg

Chopped this bush down (about 7' tall) with an axe. It was NOT ideal. Instead of one thick stump, it was about 20 individual stumps perhaps half the size of my wrist. Those bushes are all dry and fire-hazardy inside. It was my favorite bush, and it blocked the view down the other side of my house. Now that the fence is there, it is just a hiding spot waiting to happen.
https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-1KxzYB6pc8s/U4Phwhz8ccI/AAAAAAAAJwU/b4CevvhxF6Q/w316-h562-no/20140526_182318.jpg

Here is the bush before chopping it down. See those dead bushes peaking out from the side of the house? I've had them crammed back there for a month, and after I built the fence on the other side, realized that I couldn't get my trash cans out. DOH, so they all got moved out to the front and I've called the city to come pick them up and bill me for it. I took a picture of all the bushes just hanging out on the side of my house, but it hasn't uploaded yet. It is basically about 21 cubic yards of yard debris. City will probably charge me $150 to remove it all, which is much cheaper than if I did it myself.

Probably a 100 times up and down from the creeper flat backing a basket case vehicle that's too damn long and heavy to get up on the lift. Damn tires/wheels are 100 lbs each, if anything. Deduct cost of repairs from sale price, it's done all the time. UNLESS you are going FHA / VA. Then it needs to be repaired prior to closing. The fix this haggle that is the norm. We're on our 4th house, by #2 we had most of the game figured out.
