Well, I put up a ladder to take down my Christmas lights when it was 50* and sunny. 5 minutes later it was getting really windy and cold. 5 minutes after that it was 23* and blizzarding. I got about 1/4 of the lights down and had to retreat inside. Now, 30 minutes after I started, we have a half inch of snow on the ground, and it's 45* and sunny. WTF Colorado!
Haha, that's crazy! Buddy said there was rain in Denver. Up here we just got a good breeze going 40*
Weather here us much more interdasting than Hawaii!
We have short snow bursts and nothing accumulating on the ground in Centennial.
Wife went to ikea which means I'll be assembling shit all afternoon.

You feel trapped in a situation that you're trying to get out of and you're willing to harm somebody in the process. Your dad has been in a similar situation or he can help you in some way. Since you are dreaming about a bitchy teacher, you are seeking knowledge or information about something that may be hard for you to hear.
Now that you're my official psychologist, thank you. Maybe someday you can explain the dreams where I float up into the sky, and rapidly fall to the ground, and wake up just before splat time.

Nah, it can, but if the sun hits the mirror, it turns into a death laser and seriously damages/melts things. Not kidding. Funny story actually. At another observatory, there was an employee who was fired for some reason. He was pissed off so like any rational person, he grabbed his gun and went to work. Only he didn't shoot people like the trend now is, he shot the telescope.
Interestingly enough, the huge freaking mirror didn't shatter like you'd think. The bullets went right through the glass, and actually released some internal stresses the glass had from manufacturing. After they inspected it and returned it to service, they were getting much higher quality data because the telescope was more relaxed. Pretty cool, eh?

I buy powder/primers from them at their increased rates just because I don't have the ability to buy 10k at a time...yet.

Ah, gotcha HB. Yea, I really wouldn't have a problem with them if it weren't for their business practices.
For instance, the guy that owns the place teaches CCW classes, like most gun shops do. He doesn't go to the shooting range, he takes the students out to a canyon. No big deal, doesn't want the students to pay the $5 all day range fee. I get that. But he has a strict "you can not pickup your brass" rule, even though its in a national forest or something like that.
A coworker took the class (gift from his wife, not his choice of instructors) and took his 44mag to shoot because he loves that revolver. When he found out he couldn't pickup his brass, he pulled out his Kimber 45acp and shot that instead, using old nearly worn out brass. He had a question about the training certificate he received, so he walked back to talk to the instructor who stayed behind when he dismissed the classs (cars were parked several hundred yards away). That's when he saw the gun shop owner picking up the brass, so he could sell it in his shop. Basically steals your own brass for personal gain.
BuffCyclist
01-12-2014, 17:51
And I know what you mean about shipping fees. I can see how ordering 10lbs of powder, or 10k primers comes out cheaper than the LGS, but thats a big upfront expense and nowadays, its hard to find powder in stock online, primers are more readily available now though, so things are finally turning around.

For my old LCP, I used to just load the mags, then insert the mags into the pistol and it worked perfectly.
If you're interested, I have roughly half of a 1lb coffee can of 380 brass that I'll never use. I shot about 200rds of it, and there are maybe 400 pieces total. I could count it up tomorrow but it would definitely fit in a flat rate USPS envelope...

I tried convincing my friend to do that, but he doesn't have a need for more than 100-200 primers/bullets at a time, even though I tried explaining it to him. And other than him, I don't really know of anyone else locally that reloads. Small town with no friends kinda sucks some times lol.

I'm doing pretty good, officially started working on new project (currently transitioning so my time is split) so thats helping the nights go by much faster. Honestly, I'm basically a telescope babysitter and button pushing monkey, which is why I'm glad to get back to hardware. Last night a motor blew out (was probably running all day for some reason) and we spent about 2 hours replacing it. That was fun, except for having to do it out in the cold, wind (35mph) and dark.

Anybody got a nice, quiet, accurate method of shooting out neighbors light bulbs? Not that I'm condoning vandalism, but its driving us nuts.
We have blackout curtains on our bedroom, with blinds closed, granny blinds (lace privacy things), and blackout curtains, the neighbor across the alley, has 4 huge flood lights that they always leave turned on and it still manages to fill our bedroom with light. My wife hasn't slept in the past 2 nights because of it. Its sporadic, because some days we sleep just fine even with them on.
Why don't you go over there and be polite, if not just kick some ass?
Wife is calling me.. Later fellas
BuffCyclist
01-12-2014, 23:50
Oh we've tried that. This was the neighbor that had a "controlled burn" in their backyard. Which are illegal in city limits, not to mention it was left unattended, smelled like ass (wasn't just wood, trash/rubber/plastic too), and they didn't have any hoses/fire extinguishers nearby.
They also have a huge ass pile of trash in the alley behind their wall, which is also illegal. I've debated calling code enforcement on them multiple times.

Pellet gun? Cut the power? Put up an opaque object such as a plywood wall in front of the light?
How high up are the lights?
BuffCyclist
01-12-2014, 23:53
I've thought about a pellet gun, but they produce a pop which is still rather loud. Cutting the power would require that I go into their yard. We put up a 6ft tall chicken wire fence to keep our dogs (mine mostly) from jumping over the wall and we planted some honeysuckles along the wall to grow up the fence. Its working, but taking quite a while to fill out enough to block out the light.
BuffCyclist
01-12-2014, 23:55
Thats the thing, our house/property are a good 4-6ft higher than theirs. So at 4ft, looking perfectly level, the lights are 1-2ft higher than the wall. Its kind of hard to explain.
BuffCyclist
01-12-2014, 23:56
Anyways, a squirt gun would work. When light bulbs get hot, a nice burst of cold water shatters them. Or so I found out accidentally years ago with my bedside reading light when I spilled a glass of water.
Tell them u and the Mrs are going out of town. And just keep am eye on house. Sneak back @ 2am use pellet gun to break lights.
HoneyBadger
01-12-2014, 23:59
