Anyways, the end plates and magazine extension came from Brownells (I was surprised the extensions were in stock; that's why I grabbed it) and the buffer tubes were from some smaller place selling on Amazon.

The good news is that I was able to salvage the castle nut. Additionally, I *think* I can salvage the buffer tube. Don't get me wrong, it's tore all to hell, but I was pulling it off to get some machine work done for a DIY slidefire. I think it will still work for the testing of the set-up. Now that there's a weakness in the buffer tube, I wouldn't trust it long term, but I can play with the machining a bit to get it all built without worry of destroying the tube... because it's already destroyed...[Bang]

Good luck with that. I'm completely irrational with backorders. I refuse to buy something that's backordered because I always think I can find it elsewhere (and probably cheaper too, right?). So I look for awhile and never find it and then by the time I'm able to order it when it's "back in stock", it's probably actually been back in stock 5-6 times and was sent out to the backorder crowd and I never saw it. In reality, I could have probably gotten it 2-3 weeks after buying it on backorder.

Oh well. Trust me though, that's probably the least of my issues.
