Nevermind. I don't really care.
Blargh.
Been fighting computer issues on my home server for a few days and things went really sideways today.
Seems I might have figured it out and one of my mirrored drives was causing issues.
Played hell trying to get the system and Winders boot partitions cloned to an SSD and bootable. What a PITA. Got er done though. second SSD is getting mirrored up now to protect the OS. Then I can attack the spinning disk with all the data. I should probably just move to a NAS with hardware raid but trying not to spend money on 'puter stuff.

I have trouble keeping the days straight. If the wife wasn't working from home, I'd really be in trouble.
Reached out to the folks that I contracted with to see if there's any news on when the project will get going.
In the meantime, I clean house, keep the dog distracted, cook, clean some more. Now I have yardwork to also keep me busy.
Who flipped the summer switch? I know Mother's Day is the usual end to the freezes, but I'm wondering if we aren't already done? We'll jump right into hail season?

turned the ac on this afternoon. 84 in the house is a tad warm. BUT according to the experts, it can reduce the infection rate of the cv-19. Or was it increase it?

Turned my AC on a couple of days ago as well. We?re not fans of the heat.
Speaking of ac, our next door neighbor turn on the ac all year when it reaches >60f 24/7/365.25. Their ac system is loud and can hear it.
Right now it is 54f and it will probably run starting at about 10;30am.
They must lived in artic prior.

We're really not inside much, till after 3 p.m. , by then 80+ inside is a tad warm. About an hour after the sun goes down, it starts cooling off.
As for temps in your area. Just wait till they start issuing High Heat Warnings.
I'm curious how the hell can anyone say . Boy it's really hot. once it goes from 110 to 113. All of a sudden it's a A HIGH HEAT WARNING.. ?

sheet boy you just warming up. We saw temps in the mid 115's down there, in Yuma and the Kingman area last year. We get all you sun birds from tucson & the valley around this time of year. They stay until it starts getting cold. Like mid sept, when the daytime temp drop below mid 80's.

That's a huge effort and will payoff big in ten years and on with more wildlife and privacy. When we built our home we inherited a wildlife shelter belt with a hundred trees and shrubs. We immediately added 350 trees and shrubs, then more each year with nursery plants, transplants and volunteers. It began with CO state forest service seedlings. It's really rich with wildlife now. We love it.

We love it.This is second go round with the trees. First time bombed due to series of disasters and drought in early 2000's, lost 160 tress.
120 of those trees were 18" tall ERC that local baler mowed and baled after his boss and I stood in the field and discussed how it would be no problem that grass was taller than the trees planted that spring.

Rear window are facing south and it does get warm. Their system is running louder than others for sure.

Woohoo, a little excitement last night.
About 10pm the power went out. Stepped out on deck to look around hood, saw neighbors west and north also out and saw a 10ft wall of flame headed towards us and neighbors just east of us.
Called 911 and dispatcher was already on with neighbors, ok good, firemen on the way.
We pulled a couple vehicles around house to light up field and waited for the flames and the firemen.
Good response time by our local volunteers. A couple of the guys were at volunteer firehouse near us(remote station) in two minutes and headed to fire with tanker in less than 5.
In that 5 minutes the wind(fire started by dry gusty tstorm) drove that fire almost a half mile.
Climax, the firemen got out in front of it and knocked it down quickly. The wind gusted it back up and it looked like blew it right around the crews towards the road. They repositioned and added second tanker that arrived from station 13 miles away. Took the firemen another 10 mins with the help of wind change to get it knocked back down.
No structures lost(fire burned right around a barn) and the volunteers saved the day again.
Best part was power outage caused by fire only lasted an hour after fire was out. Didn't have to drag out genny to save freezer.
Was the neighbors first experience with prairie fire, they were a little freaked out by how fast they move. They went from standing on porch saying "wow" to "oh shit" and running for the hoses when the wind cut distance in half in the five minutes it took firemen to get here.
Spooky stuff.
Besides the fire thing, glad you have the power back on.

Mrs bo gets a little testy when I shrug and say it was not that close.(1/4 mile and 2 lane road to cross)
Worst we should have to be concerned about is monitoring and watching for embers in air/on roof and spray them down.
Most embers from prairie fire are not heavy enough to catch material other than prairie on fire. Easy to catch field next to you on fire but not so easy to catch house/barn on fire.
Many structure fires in prairie fire are due to easily combustable material accumulating near stucture or structure is 50yr old dried to balsa consistency barnwood.
We keep an area approx mowed short around house and shop and trees are set out away from house. Have 5 access points to 1" water lines. Even in drought chances of losing house to prairie fire should be low.
Best thing about prairie fire is fuel goes fast and once fuel is gone fire is gone. Still hard to watch it coming at you.

Been 25+ years since last watched it.
Fun to compare/contrast classic Sci Fi to modern Sci Fi.
In 1953 and even 1977 actors had to carry the story, special effects were primitive and sometimes laughable.
Today, don't even need actors, which is good cause most suck, as the cinemagraphics are amazing.

"Los Angeles rattled by magnitude-3.3 earthquake (https://www.foxnews.com/us/los-angeles-rattled-by-magnitude-3-3-earthquake)"
Californians don't even notice a 3.3. Hell, most Coloradans probably wouldn't notice a 3.3. "Rattled"? Maybe like a baby rattle.
According to the Los Angeles Times, a three-year data sample shows that California and Nevada are hit with an average of 234 earthquakes that have magnitudes between 3.0 and 4.0 per year.
Last summer, Southern California experienced its largest earthquake sequence in two decades, beginning July 4.
A magnitude-6.4 quake rocked the Mojave Desert about 120 miles north of Los Angeles before a 7.1 rattler hit the next day, followed by more than 100,000 aftershocks.

Took today "off". Had grandiose plans off hitting the range today. Well that was the plan.
Started cleaning out the landscaping on Friday, and then Saturday, annnnd Sunday. And then I was sure I would be done by 2pm today.
Ornamental grasses suck. They spread in the rock scape and just grow on the weed mat. Rock scaping sucks. There was a solid 3/4 inch of dirt in huge areas. Had to use the blower and get it out in a nice giant cloud of dust. 550lb of rock for edging moved in, over 1cu yard of mulch spread, and 4cubic yards of dirt and ornamentals hauled off.
Well at least this should pacify the HOA Karens for a while.

When I was in sales 20 years ago, I've heard about britannica encyclopedia door to door sales reps. I've heard they know how to close.
I was in less aggressive sales like automobiles and little bit of financial products. (The company requires most employees to have sales license after glass seagle).
My sales is more of listing it on cl, fb mkt,and sell it for 50 to 300 depends on what model (brand) and year.
20% of them were free and others were paid fraction of pennies on a dollar (paid to current Mkt price).
Thank you Hummer.

Yep. Gotta support my homie.
Besides, Thornton to Golden is maybe thirty miles. Maybe. Not sure what kind of bubble you exist in, Walrus, but thirty miles isn't a big deal. My shortest commute for work is longer than that.
30 mi on a mc is just warming up. It's the side journey after getting new skins, that makes the ride worth it.
Might take the scenic route home and see if I can get the little hairy things worn off before I get home.
That is very impressive.

I don't know what that means but 40 years ago the sets sold for $1200-1800 depending on the finance plan. Cold call sales, door to door. Couldn't get away with it nowadays.
You could have a tough time selling via CL, especially in this environment. If you own inventory, let it go fast. Jmho.

I get it for free from people who hoarded for their kids on LIKE NEW encyclopedia. That is how I started this encyclopedia thing.
I sell only about 1/month.
There are so many " new old stock" encyclopedia out there that you can literally buy it for $1-50 for a set and flip it.
Books are about <10% of my revenue, and I just started encyclopedia this year (or late dec 2019). I usually do text books to professional books. Not broad knowledge to do vintage books yet.
Everyone I know who sells on Craigslist says it's never been busier than right now. Basically the stimulus came and people are buying up everything.
Let's just say supplies cannot catch up to a demand.
Supplies are limited. I did not even sign a new 2020 contract with some places due to covid19.
I started this year with 60+ golf bags. Currently I have 7 left over. I have about 3 iron set now. I might have to bite my tongue and buy a golf galaxy return pallets. Those have far less profit margins, but it gotta do for now.
Odd thing is that baseball, softball, tennis equipment are not moving at all. Due to social distancing, I think it will be a very slow baseball/softball, tennis season.

FB marketplace is pretty hot now too.
Unless you're trying to sell a diesel truck (for top dollar). Because every out of work yokel with a diesel truck they can't afford... is selling a truck.
Sometimes I use it just to get stuff out of my garage I don't want to carry to the street. Have to ask a few bucks though, free just brings the tire kickers and crazy and a thousand ?sigue disponible? blowing up my messenger.

Okay, interesting. Online used book store. I don't know but wouldn't think encyclopedias older than 12 years would have much value. But then, some folks pay big money for a Corvair. Hey, I've bought and sold a lot on Craigslist.
A friend has done well selling periodicals online over 3 decades. It's evolved to almost all scientific journals but some people like me still collect old journals in their area of expertise. I have ornithology journals going back to 1950.,
Remember the old Union Pacific Railroad calendars? My grandmother collected those. And I have a magnum Caterpillar Tractor wall calendar from 1951, the year of my birth. What do you suppose that would bring?
I need to relist my Timesert threader thing. Maybe I'll get lucky and someone will buy it.

There are more union Pacific calendar transaction than cat calendar on ebay at least.
Just did a quick search. It did not have any 1951, but similar year same description is running at $10 to 25 plus shipping.
You would be surprised. I ve sold many trash for super premium. Around 2004, I've sold Norwest Bank merchandise for good amount of cash. The money pouch/bag they give out for deposit was sold for $44+shipping. :)

Well,
Most of us know of the curative properties of silver, especially if you had to go on sick call after a weekend of liberty.......
The natural sponge is strange, it must reduce auto-immune reactions to foreign bodies.
For sure you want to fight the area, and let them know who is boss.
I continue to fight the area around my collarbone, which was replaced with a bunch of metal, etc.

If you've ever heard an aquarium air pump, it was like that. I plugged it in at night to charge and set it on the floor next to the bed. Little joys.
Little nippy in the house this morning. I really need to look into some sort of two way thermostat for this time of year. Or get a divorce. I don't mind the cold but she doesn't like it so much.
Sounds familiar. I leave it cool when I know it's going to warm up, so I don't want it automated (could do it with Honeywell smart thermostat). Let's just say I have 'control issues'.
Doesn't look like it's going to get real warm today, so I kicked up the heat this morning to accommodate the wife. My office is in the basement where it's cooler anyway.
I just got my surgical itinerary.
This next one is going to be much bigger.
Its going to be months before they can actually close this up too.
Uffda.
I'll see about getting more pictures while they are operating. Giggle
You got this.
...hopefully you'll be able to get someone to take the pictures for you. I don't think I'd want to be awake for that. ;-)
Just found out that one of my coworkers has passed after fighting a few weeks in the hospital. Attributed to Covid, thankfully none of his family has it and he hasn?t interacted with anyone at work in well over a month. Sad day to lose such a happy Vietnamese man
Sorry to hear it.

Sorry for the loss.
We know someone from previous business relations (and now goes to my wifes church) is in the hospital recovering from covid19.

I asked for pictures of my amputation. They looked at me with a deer in the headlights, HUH?
Probably wasn't covered under my deductible.

Did I mention that red heads need more anesthesia than other folks?
Maybe this explains why I don't really have any pain, just the occasional sharp stick from a staple. New tolerances perhaps.

I know they videoed the procedure. So what's the story?

The story - "I was born a poor deprived black child...."
Or
"It was a dark and stormy night..."

This might be new:
When I had my foot rebuilt in the 90's I woke up when the bone saw blade broke & was wedged in my foot. They had to take the tool off the blade before they could pry it out. I was awake & aware but unable to move or speak for most of the procedure, but was finally able to mumble 'I prefer Hawaii' (with the little tube down the side of my mouth & whatnot) in answer to their on going conversation about vacation spots. Put me out right quick again they did.
No exaggeration.
Woke up during every one of my maxillofacial /dental surgeries too.
Last monday was the first time I was out the entire time, so I think. They also gave me some variation of ghb (or ?) so if I did wake, I wouldn't remember. Apparently it worked.

Maybe you can find it on the Internet. [dig]

I've heard about people that respond that way to anesthesia. Paralyzed, but not 'out'. That has to suck.
I woke up toward the end of my Mortons Neuroma removal from my right foot. I said, "I can feel that." They replied, "Hang on. We're almost done."
I still can't believe I got a black eye from an IV stand falling over and the top of it hitting me under the eye while getting on the operating table for my spinal fusion. I get it. They're still 'practicing' medicine.

The anesthesia awareness is one of the scariest things I think. I guess it would be like being in your own horror film. Some may even feel all the pain from it too.
