Good morning folks
It's about time Ford. Maybe now everyone will shut the hell up about fireworks.

Is this going to be a show truck Kowalski?
That is an interesting question, Irving....for a few different reasons. As far as attention to build and money being spent, and hours in on it, and the level of uniqueness currently, and ultimately when it's finished......it could be. A lot of thought, detail, and time are happening as each thing is completed. A bunch of stuff just showed up today for the interior, picked up some more stuff from the powder coat place, more stuff happening.
I am going to drive it, not daily after its finished, but driven....so that kinda ruins any show quality aspect. However I am trying to come up with solutions to avoid or delay any kind of rapid deterioration factors as I build it. That should help at least....along with trying to keep it as nice as I can for as long as I can, as possible. Probably the only time it could be in a magazine is right after it's finished, that would be cool though.
Not much progress today, just those light deflectors and built the loom for the front bumper to the relay board.

Oh, and it's a '79...but I put the '73-'78 grill and round headlights onto it. The '79 grille stuff was unsightly imo, never liked that change.

Ive been on the periphery my whole life doing near everything else boom & zoom. Finally, my BIL took me out to shoot at a bloody box with a modest assortment of firearms. For months thereafter I couldn't stop thinking of or shut up about it. Eventually I tired of waiting for a proper escort to go again so as usual with everything in my little world, I sorted it myself.

I hear ya. Was like that with mc's in the early 70's. From buying the 1st, to building them in the kitchen of a studio apt. Motorcycles, guns and hot rods, easy to buy, hell of a hit on the wallet when impulse kicks in.

So much for the first day back to work. The return to work form my employer filled out by my doctors is not good enough for them. My employer is going to make me take a new hire / DOT (CDL) physical before they will let me return. At least they are paying for it and got me scheduled.

Word of advice. Get an attorney. Taking a new hire physical, IF the Dr put you on light duty, isn't a safe / healthy thing for you to do. AS well as going against a DR. work restrictions, something the court[s] have already ruled in favor of..
IF he said RTW, with no restrictions and you're unable to pass the physical, they have the right to terminate you for......Failure to do task as assigned.
SideShow Bob
12-20-2018, 20:39
Because I am required to have a CDL and although the RTW said no restrictions my Dr./health care provider did a CYA and said they are a qualified DOT facility.
I just took a better look at the paperwork I need for the physical where instead of the employment box checked it has DOT/CDL checked.
The office person I was talking to must have used the wrong term while explaining what I needed to do.
The DOT/CDL physical doesn’t bother me because it is a couple of more days they have to pay me disability and my Med. Cert. is going to expire at the beginning of March 2019.

Irving, I watched that video. Interesting to see what they did and how it performed. I tried to buy an insurance write off truck from a co-worker that had a Dana 60 front end...no joy. I would like to have one though. They are brick shithouse strong, but I would also have to change the whole steering set up. '79 had a stupid goofy boomerang arm off the left spindle. I also know that I'm going to have a gearing issue already, but I do have the opportunity to install a 4/10 disc brake Dana 60 rear end in this for free, and will probably take advantage of it....gearing and driveshafts isn't a priority yet but it's comin'.
Didn't crawl any rocks today, but I did get the headliner in the cab mostly installed. It's ABS plastic formed, but it has accommodation for four stereo speakers and it fits pretty decent. Wiring it was a pain in the ass though....and like a lot of things, installing something by yourself when four hands would work much better can be a challenge sometimes.

Never hunted birds before.
Pheasant is fun to hunt imho. If you wanted to get your feet wet there is a pay and slay place in Hudson.
That's not really my jam.
I wanna try pheasant and water fowl hunting... one day

I took pics of the area we went shooting today. But for some reason don't translate well off the phone. Those dirt "roads" were barely wide enough for the truck to make it through. Throw in one side is looking down an impressively steep mountain side as you drive, with little or no margin for error.

Being one who is less than fond of heights, it was pucker central. On a positive side, the scenery was beautiful, only ran across another vehicle. Like being up in the foothills on the back road to central city. Before gambling took over.

Canned hunt at Rocky Mountain Roosters.
Buddy has a membership, I have to pay my gun fee.
His oldest son didn't show up (sick) so 3 of us had 20 birds to find. 18 there, we lost one over a fence onto private property. 19/20 is the best we've ever done. I lost count but think I downed 6 roosters and 2 hens and had the highest count.
It was a shooting gallery and I was on, though I did actually miss my first shot. Had the gun (SBEII) for years now and had my first foul up that cost me a miss. Stove piped a loaded shell.

That explains why life is like a box of chocolates.
which reminds me as a PSA: Unsweetened baking chocolate does not transition well in to chocolate mousse. Either a bitter sweet or semi sweet chocolate wafers or chips is the way to go.

Since when has it been state law requiring liquor stores to close on Christmas?
OtterbatHellcat

On a side note, I also didn't realize Grocers and convenient stores would be selling full strength after Jan 1.
OtterbatHellcat
12-24-2018, 19:41
That, I was aware of. Some store proprietors that expressed concerns about that to me through discussion, were unhappy about it.... naturally. It didn't take much explanation to remind them most folks are still going to go to the liquor store for their purchases. Going to the grocery store is usually a pain in the ass for most folks anyways, nobody's going there to buy their liquor there unless it's that once a week trip or every other week (however you do it), so it doesn't matter.

I put a lighted flamingo wearing a Santa hat on one neighbor’s roof, and a lighted T-Rex in a Santa hat on another neighbor’s roof. A cop drove past and several neighbors saw me, nobody batted an eye at a guy climbing a ladder to put stuff on the roof. A similar flamingo may have graced the BPTactical’s lawn a few years ago... I find that putting unwanted decorations on other people’s homes is much more fun than decorating my own.

It?s kinda like an adult version of vandalism that would never be prosecuted. It?s a bonus to do it while they?re home without getting caught. Had Bert?s dog been a little more alert, I might?ve been shot, or at least beaten, a few years back.
