Glad to hear the power came back on. If you didn't move on the generator, it probably would have been out longer. ;-)
At least the ground was warm enough that it melted quite a bit of the snow on the pavement. Shoveling this morning wasn't too bad.
Irving, I'm going to have Netflix on the TV, YouTube on 1 monitor, Amazon Prime on a 2nd monitor, and Pandora running in the background, just for you. Whatever my wife is also doing for work will just be a bonus. Sure am glad I upgraded my Internet plan a couple of months ago.
Sloppy snow. pita.
Tell me about it.
As neighbors along our driveway we hire a plow guy to clear over 4". Yesterday his big diesel Ram plow truck got stuck immediately and stayed stuck for 3 hours. I learned that to plow these big, wet spring storms you chain up or you get stuck. For me to pull him out I had to clear 20 inches of snow around my plow with the snowblower so I could put chains on. I got him out with the little Toyota and told him to come back today with chains. Haven't seen him yet. I don't think he's real bright. He could have come earlier in the day at 8 inches, then again later to charge us twice. I'm happy to pay him to save wear and tear on my old Toy.
This pic is before I started the Toro, and we got another 6-7" by dark.

Really liking how quiet the inverter generator we bought for camp trailer is.
I need one of those. Mine is an older 5K watt Honda, great machine but noisy. I should sell it....
We've been lucky with electric service this time. We often loose electricity during storms like this.

I have an older Honda 5k as well that I use on job sites. Kinda loud compared to newer 5k I have for the house.
I loaned the 2k inverter gen to neighbors to run furnace during outage. They offered to buy it when they returned it. Mrs bo laughed and said hell no, it is the only generator she can start by herself.
The 2k inverter gen won't run AC unit in camp trailer but can be paralleled with another to do so.
One of the buyer from ebay just purchased something at around 4:20ish.
Packaged the 46x10x10 box, bubble wrap individual clubs , and drove to fedex. Dropped it off and came home at
4:39. :)

Hate living on a corner lot, shoveling shit like this is ridiculous. Did the driveway and in front of my house and said screw the street walk.
Snow? What's this snow thing about? [Coffee]
In other news, I've heard rumor that Junction's historical high-volume gun store (A+ Pawn Shop) and whatever future iterations they ran under is in some deep doo doo over something in the order of 2,700 guns missing. Apparently it's Wilcox Sr. that's in heat, Jr. is not in the vice over this one. It's been a long time since I mosied up that way but Jimmy was always nice (jr). My info is fairly credible, but biased hearsay, there's been a lot of family drama there lately.

Snow? I'll bring you some next time I'm over. You can make Sno-cones!
Sorry about A+Pawn. The lady did a quick, efficient and easy transfer for me a couple years ago. They had a huge inventory of AR's. I was there recently and what a mess! They needed a fire sale. I predict it will all see a bulldozer very soon.

From my understanding the sister left and started a new gun store on Orchard Mesa which may be short lived. (jr's) wife is rumored to be securing an FFL to reopen at the original location under their operation. It's always been chaotic there back in my memory, but that was back when Jr. was running it. I've also heard that the sister was suing Jr while they shared the same premises, but supposedly lost that case. Even considering the reliable source, that last bit to me is speculation, without actually seeing pleadings.
Too bad for all the difficulties. Somebody there was disfunctional. But they performed good affordable service for a lot of local gun buyers. No great alternatives there that I know of.

I NEED that shirt.
Since I do not have 40sw nor 45acp pistols at this time, I wanted to get rid of my stash of 40sw and 45acp. I guess it is good time to do so.
Listed for fair price relative to out of stock normal price at sportsmans/cabelas.
Now, as I mentioned before. There is one firearm that I want to buy from TP, but I am going to wait out the queue to drop to normal after this panic buying craziness.
I just saw a TP and one of the firearm I wanted to get is SPF. Still rather wait till check queue drops down. :(
So, if you play with it too much you will need new batteries sooner.
Just saying.

The wind today and especially right now have been nasty. It also seems that's the recipe for the next two days as well.

yes they can. Worse it trying to get up out of the recliner @ 3 in the a.m when you're too tired to get up. Then lay in bed another hour unable to fall asleep.

They're looking at 2 weeks of rain up in Washington.
Woke up with a blinding headache this morning. Probably related to the weather changing. I sure am glad there's some cloud cover this morning or the light would blow my eyes out the back of my head. This is gonna be a fun one.
That doesn't sound much fun.

I speak fluent english and gibberish
I'm fluent in small talk. "That doesn't sound fun," is something you say as filler to lubricate a conversation without investing in every word the other person said. ;)

I usually just end it with, "That sucks."
I used to say, "that's awesome," as a filler. One time a guy was telling me about his shitty day and he stopped and said, "What?! No, it wasn't awesome at all!" Haha
During my job at 2002, my boss was sick. She goes "I think I got a flu."
I said "okay,that is great"
She said "What?"
Rest of employees were ROFLing. [ROFL3][ROFL3][ROFL3]

Reminds me of the comedian Brian Regan's bit regarding the phrase, "You too!".

I lost a telecom test and tone set 10 years ago that I cannot find. Had an RJ-45 crimp tool with it too. I've convinced myself it's around the house somewhere but the sock fairy must have taken a shine to it.
I want to finish mounting my Amp bed step but the dealer needs to fix the wonky cab/bed alignment first.
Thinking about selling some ammo an AL but I wonder if it's worth the drainbramage.
I also need to sell some stereo gear and speakers to help replenish the money I put down,

Ate at a car from drive-thru (taco hell), and went to sportmans warehouse.
FedEx is closed for today, so I will still need to go to walmart and try to buy a toilet paper. I have 2 new rolls left. After 5 days, it might be wiping butt with napkin type of a thing. :D
Nothing really to do except do some gardening and go online.

Anyway..some of you may remember a few years back when I mentioned getting a dog when I got better established down here, and we did. Through a local shelter and picked her up from the foster lady yesterday up in Flag. She's a german mix which we were told was likely aussie and the ears are right for that, but her front legs kinda lean boxer. Cute damn thing, and she's responding well to early training efforts. She's just over 13 weeks at this time.
I'll try and post a pic in the furbaby thread soon. :)

It's tough, you'll get over it. Or make another trip to flag. That's the down side to adopting a pet. There's more than 1 and hard to not go. Ok we'll take them.
Oh yeah, get some normal awake hours. 65 & sunny wed, Range day.

Yeah, her brother took a shine to me quickly which made it harder to watch the "WTF??" going on between both of them as I was putting her in the carrier....and not get 'em both. It was clear for everyone that was there.
I hope for a GO on Wed... this gut problem I've been having for a while now really messes up any regular sleep schedule. Go to bed at 9 and wake up frying pan style at 1...rest too much during the day, and can't sleep at all at night. Feeling better right now than I did all day, it's pita. GF and I need some ar15 exercise therapy for sure.

I did offer that maybe we could be put in contact with whomever does get the brother, so we can get 'em back together for a day in six months or a year...something like that.
Dogs get over it, especially when they're little. It was tough bringing ours home at not quite 8 weeks and watching him try to figure out what's going on. They quickly figure out their new pack structure.

There are no transition drills.... fire for effect and cover fire. They really are the same thing, just depends on forward or lateral movement.

We're holding here at about 16 rolls. Funny, before this I couldn't tell you how many were in the house unless it was below 1.
We got wet wipes, but toilets/ sewers don't like those too much. I think next time we shop for this stuff we look for the septic safe wet wipes... sewers won't get clogged on those as they breakdown fairly quickly...

You're both funny.
So this is anoying.
A few of the online car parts places seem to artificially delay shipping unless you pay for shipping (FCP) or pay full price (Audi Flatirons). Then there is NAPA which leads you to believe you just bought a tool, but you only reserved it, and they will call you when available. wűt?
Then there is ECS which shipped my stuff at 7am Mountain, after I placed the order at 1am. Fairly sure this is why they are so successful.
Glad burrito places are essential...
We got wet wipes, but toilets/ sewers don't like those too much. I think next time we shop for this stuff we look for the septic safe wet wipes... sewers won't get clogged on those as they breakdown fairly quickly...
We have flushable (plant based) wipes but I wouldn't flush them if I was on septic.
Take a course of antibiotics (last taken in june for Walking Pneumonia) and you'll never be without those aloe infused wipes again. Just saying.

It's a trick. There are no septic safe wipes except TP. Same with flushable tampons. The strings don't break down and they can get caught in pipe and cause clogs.
Mine eyes have seen the glory.

Yep. I didn?t call anyone out by name. Merely suggested (as do most important health officials) that people with pre-existing medical conditions were the most prone to getting killed by the virus.
Also, for the record, BMB seems way cookier here than in real life. I?ve met him at least two or three times and he seems like a very down to earth person if not just a little quirky.
Also, for the record, if anyone carries on relentlessly about just about any subject for long enough and I can find a sharp stick nearby I?ll likely try and poke that person in their eye. You know.... just for fun.

For sure, the birds are arriving sooner by about 10 days than ~the past few decades. I'm curious how numerous/common Costa's are where you are? When (date period) do you see them? Males, females & immatures? You're somewhere outside Prescott or Chino Valley, right? I've been there but is it hotter there than Sedona?
I've found Costa's in the Sedona area where they are little known but I don't see evidence that they breed there. Post breeding migrants I think.

I've found Costa's in the Sedona area where they are little known but I don't see evidence that they breed there. Post breeding migrants I think.
Gotta say I've been having 2 nature valley bars for breakfast for about a month now and its pretty solid, oh and its a good breakfast too............. [Coffee]

In CV, on the north side ;)
The spouse is the real watcher. Got her the book Birds of Arizona, Field Guide. Uses it daily to keep track of who's in the area, passing through etc.
When the costas show up they're a few. BUT being territorial. Since the chins were here first, who knows. I know you've seen it. But for those who haven't .
When they get in to a tussle it's nasty. AS in to the death a few times.
Some yield, others, one dies, one flies.

We tend to stay pretty stocked on the protein bars. Wife had just made a costco run before SHTF so we had two costco size boxes (more like cases) plus I tend to always grab a box or two every time i hit the store. One of hers did happen to be granola and not protein, but there's a lot of carbs in them so that's good for the situation if needed.
Hydrate more.
Yea I have a issue with that period. My hematocrit is all of.but slowly coming around back to normal (weekly blood pulls amd slamming water)

Shit i wish I had some mre's can't find shit right now.

Yea I got the 96 count box and I'm glad i did. They make a satisfying morning meal with one crumbled over some yogurt and a banana.
These and a cup of coffee have been my breakfast of choice during the apocalypse.

wow in under 20 minutes, impressive. Considering you get this on line, or calling in for a CSR.
Due to Corona Virus responses we are only taking calls @ XXXXXX XXX. Our chat lines are down, until further notice.
Then you get . Thank you for calling. Due to covid-19 our hours have been reduced. To speak to a CSR press 1.
Your current wait time is 75 minutes. cue muzak.
Its supporting 365 (all virtual service's) all enterprise systems clients. Azure, office, team's, skype for bidness etc. No incoming calls just email and occasionally an outbound call.
Did you try turning it off and on?
That is number #1 for hardware support usually. Somehiw that fixes like 70% of issues. You might need another one is about 15% and the 5% left is flux capacitor is broke better go see doc

Since that's the first thing they always want to try, I usually do it before I even call in.
Then I call and they want me to do it. I tell them I already did that and it didn't work. Then they still want me to do it. Then I get a little nasty with them and tell them to pretend we just did it and it didn't work and let's move on to the next step. Idiots.

Yeah, I had a buddy that did phone support for Apple, and that was always the first line of his script.

That's because some folks think that logging out is turning it off. Or putting it on sleep mode (they press the power button a laptop, which has the "press power once" set to sleep or hibernate) and then logging back in = restarting.
When I worked a help desk I wouldn't ask the person to reboot. I'd walk them through it as if it was a troubleshooting step. If they balked, I'd blame it on process as necessary for me to generate a ticket to another team if necessary. Alternately, I'd remote in and just do it myself. It's not that they don't trust "you", it's that someone, somewhere, sometime, *didn't* reboot, said they did, and wasted 30 minutes of their time.
I just figured they were running down a checklist and if you stymied them on a step then they had no idea what to do.
It's okay. I'm sure our tech geeks hate dealing with me. I'm sure they tell stories and laugh at my expense when they get off the call. They always ask me something that they assume everyone knows and I always tell them I have no idea.

Nah, nothing like that. Just a note signed by me and the puppy.
Speaking of the dog, I'm really impressed with the week and a half of training we've done. She's close to 15 weeks old now and we have sit, stay, and come pretty solid. Last few days got her to slalom between boxes and to jump over a box. On her own, she stopped and sat on the box which was cool. Took a broomstick between two boxes and re-enforced Over, and started teaching Under.
Many more important things to teach yet, but this pup is a smart one. I'll not kid anyone though, I've had some frustration with a couple of things as well, but I think things are being handled in a positive and constructive way for the end goal. I also think if you ever want to burglarize this house, have a purple squeaky squid toy in your back pocket.....it might cause a puppy flashback that could give you enough time to stop the major bleeding and get out of the house. This is a very protective breed and she's showing it already.

Bummer.
I?ve also considered shaving mine just in case I need to get a decent seal on some kind of mask or respirator and I?m not in any sort of medical field.
Talked myself out of it though. I honestly think having facial hair could maybe block some stuff that would otherwise enter my body.

As I get older, I now understand the value of naps. Just 20-30 minutes.
