They are not as tough as the bubbamug though. After a few drops onto concrete, they get a little beat up because they are relatively thin aluminum (double walled).

At costco, they were only $28 for a 2 pack last fall, so effectively $14 each. By far, the best coffee travel mug I have ever owned.

I have always bought cheapies. I lose them, leave them on job sites, on top of car roof, tool box, run over with tractor, etc. Wife gave this one to me as b day gift. Trying to find a holster for it to match my edc holster. That is about the only way to keep it safe. Glock on the right, mug on the left. :)

I made it to post today before the morning pile up on 190.

They're doing construction on the main road that leads to several gates of the post, including the main gate. I really like Texas, but if you put a bunch of people behind the wheel when they're still tired AND going through a construction zone you will get accidents. Seems that there has been an accident every day this week that included a multi-car pile up.... of course it happens at about 5AM when everyone is trying to get to work.

In several areas the road is 3 lanes (for passing purposes since its going up a mountain), yet for some reason, they feel it necessary to close TWO lanes and make it only a 1 lane road. In other words, they hold up traffic for 20-30min each direction and let everyone follow the pilot car at 5mph (because going 25mph is too fast when there is a lane between you and the 2 workers who are the only two working on the side of the road for the 5mi they have the road closed.

The construction will go on all summer. After which, they will start doing the signs from the small mountain town, to my observatory (another 16mi road). [facepalm]

I do appreciate that they did a lot of work on 24 in the winter so it won't be a clogged up mess (hopefully) during the summer months. Okay, so using some small hole gages and a pair of very nice micrometers, I was able to determine that the primer pockets on the LC LR 07 brass was on the maximum end of specs, and the WLR primers were on the minimum end of specs. Without actually averaging (no time yet, just recorded lots of data), here's the results:

All of this data was taken from measuring between 10-20 cases/primers, and recording the measurement 3 times, the writing down the average of those 3 for all cases/primers. The same measurements between cases were VERY consistent.

LR Primers
Min = 0.2105"
Max = 0.2130"

LR Primer Pockets
Min = 0.2085"
Max = 0.2100"

CCI BR2 Primers - 0.2111" (middle of spec)
WLR Primers - 0.2103 (lower end of spec)

LC LR 04 Primer Pockets - 0.2094" (in spec)
LC LR 07 Primer Pockets - 0.2106" (above spec)
LC LR 08 Primer Pockets - 0.2097" (in spec)
LC LR 10 Primer Pockets - 0.2100" (max spec)
LC LR 11 Primer Pockets - 0.2095" (in spec)
R-P Primer Pockets - 0.2098" (in spec)
Black Hills Primer Pockets - 0.2100" (max spec)

I STILL don't have the Lapua brass, not happy with SouthwestAmmunition for that, they were in-stock when I ordered, then they claimed they must have sold out after I ordered even though the page still hasn't changed like some other items that say "Requires an additional 1-2 weeks processing time)". Anyways, I don't have that brass in yet so I can't measure the primer pockets to see what they are.

What I think happened is that the LC LR 07 primer pockets were a few ten thousandths (as in, as much as 0.0003"-0.0005" larger) larger than the primers, which caused less friction to hold the primer in place, so the primers were easier to unseat and blow out. When I get time, I'll be pulling the remaining 51rds, weighing charges to ensure that wasn't a contributing factor too but will then just load up the Lapua brass with a smaller range of powder charge and retest.

Oh and my Timney Trigger arrives today to fix the XMark Pro Trigger Recall problem. So that should be fun.

If it makes you feel any better HB, my AR has carbine length gas system and I will admit it is annoying sometime, not so much the recoil, but the muzzle rise that takes a bit longer to get back on target.
