Single shot glock...that was fun.

Tested a ladder of reloads at the range this morning. I obviously loaded my 9mm rounds TOO LIGHT, if there is such a thing [LOL]. They felt more like .22lr, absolutely no recoil and they weren't strong enough to cycle the slide or even move it back much if any. After I got up to some of my higher charge reloads though, I was able to find a very accurate load that cycles my glock perfectly!

Yay, in a much better mood after going to the range!

OBC - Yeah good FP at the rail/test port, new FPR. New plugs/wires/cap/rotor/ignition amp. Leaning towards CB in dizzy/bad solder joints. It's an Edelbrock Pro-Flo EFI kit on a 350. Handheld programmer doesn't show RPM on crank - leads me to believe it's the Hall effect sensor/solder joints in the distributor.

Buff-Bat won't fit in saddle bag and I'm not having it hanging out as I haul ass up the highway.

Here's my 9mm ladder reloads target. These were all at about 8-10yds (although more realistically I'd say about 8yds as everyone estimates distances are longer than they really are) and the target size is a typical 24"x36" target.

Progression of the groups was left, then bottom, then right, then middle, then neck, then head. I think the neck grouping is the best balance between reliability and accuracy.

Left had FTEject and failed to rack the slide
Bottom had FTEject
Right had stovepipes on 2/5 shots
Middle worked great
Neck was better groupings and good recoil
Head was a little more wonky where the group opened up a bit.

Though I still might do some testing with that neck load, because the holes in the paper look a little oblong, like the bullet went through sideways, which I don't really believe. They might have just made bigger holes for some reason.

Took my old bed from the front bedroom to the dumpster, then moving the bed out of the office into the front bedroom, then moving a futon from the living room into the office, then moving the couch in the living room so I can get to the wall behind it to continue painting. At the moment, I've done all the painting I can do without moving furniture and with my knee in its current pathetic situation, I'm not doing much of that without help.

And I would reload some 9mm, but my reloading room is still too hot. It's in our "sunroom" which isn't heated or cooled, though I'm considering getting a window mounted AC unit for that room. I might reload some in the morning while my Fiancee is at the gym and I continue to be a lazy bum...at least I have an excuse! [LOL]

Surgery still isn't for 13 days, its just getting more painful with less effort now. As in, now it hurts after 45min at the range, and about a month ago, I spent nearly 3 hours there (shooting pistol, so standing the entire time) and it didn't hurt at all then.

Yea, I already know I have problems with dilaudid, but other than that I haven't had any drugs that don't get along with my system. The IV form of dilaudid is fine until they take me off it, then I get super nauseated and can't keep any food down for days.

Yea, well I've had several police trade-in's, and they've all been great shooters and still very accurate.

Will be crutching around and should be able to resume walking 1-2 weeks after the surgery (8/15), depends on how the surgery goes and what he says post-op. Full recovery is usually in 6-8 weeks. My wedding/honeymoon is almost exactly at 8wks after so I hope recovery goes fast!

No worries, didn't read it that way. I've had surgery before so I know what to expect post-op with drugs. In 2006, my out-patient surgery turned into a 2 night hospital stay because of how the IV dilaudid affected me. They took me off it and my GI system kinda shut down. Once I got out of the hospital, I lost about 35lbs over the next 4 weeks as lingering effects. And to show how serious that was, I only weight 160lbs...

Thanks, I will, its just a matter of being diligent with PT exercises at home but still taking it slow so I don't develop any tendonitis like I did the last time I went through a knee surgery. But then, I was on crutches for 3mo before surgery, and started PT 1mo after. This time I'm still walking, just limping and moving slowly.

Yea, we're heading to Kona Hawaii! We're staying at the hotel her brother-in-laws parents work at, so we're getting rooms that normally cost around $300/night for approximately $50/night. :D Lots of touristy stuff planned and a VIP tour to Mauna Kea, because I'm a nerd.

That's the plan. A couple observers that are there used to work on my telescope, so I'll get to arrange a VIP tour with them and get to see ALL of the telescopes! But the twin Keck telescopes are on my drooling list, they're two, side by side, 10 METER telescopes! The GLASS is 30 feet wide. [Shock]
