Always preferred my chicken fried steaks to have white gravy on it, or dry with plenty of mashed taters and brown gravy on the side. The green chili thing never really seemed very appetizing to me for that application.

How's the plastic bits holding up? That's been a problem with my 2003. Switches, visor clips, barely used cupholders.
And the TC (lockup issues) - though I'm mildly chipped.
And the turbos (see above) It now has K04's.
And the valve chain adjusters
And the valve cover gaskets/seals
And the turbo oil seals (but see above)
And the CV's (normal wear item) Although I've had boots rot with the joint being fine.
Lots of other wear items but many came earlier in its 15 year life.
That said, I still love driving the car. Well, except for the Brake-Throttle Death Lag (it's a thing if you two foot it like I do).
Honestly, now that I think about it, for a 15 year old car it's holding up surprisingly well and still looks good too. However, it's got less than 100K on the clock and is garaged.

So the real question is, batter dipped or breaded style chicken fried steak? Yeah I know some people consider one country fried the other chicken fried, but there's enough people/restaurants that mix the two.
I do like the jalapeno white gravy you get at Black Eyed Pea though, that's damn good stuff.

Its a 2011 so its ok for those items. The boots on cv joints look good. Previous owner just did shocks, brakes tires and rims. Also the pistons and rings were changed last year due to the oil consumption issue. But I just noticed oil on one side of the engine and its probably due to bad sealing application. Hope that the dealer will step up but so far its benign.
One thing I noticed is rust on the lower oil pan, but seeing as there is kits of pan and oil, it sounds like its common?
You are right, its a blast to drive and really comfortable.
Now I need to order a new dmf flywheel, and some other odds and bits.
Also thinking if I want to change the starter while it's accessible. Its pricey but it would be more so with trand back in.
Now I am pondering if I want an allroad A4 at some point in the next few years.
Aren't card fun?

I know there have been multiple 4 banger issues over the years with the A4's. Early 2000 it was Audi not using full synthetic oil and smoking turbos and gumming up rings.
My A6 is a biturbo 2.7T, never seen anything but Mobil1 every 7-10K. The factory 2.7T is nearly bulletproof to around 400-425HP. Factory turbos not so much so I upgraded. With a hotter tune and some other go-fast parts, I could probably make close to 400HP but the stock trans won't take the torque.
I have a new set of wheels I bought off my son's S4 Avant that I need to get tires for and get mounted.

My A6 is a biturbo, never seen anything butt...
First time I saw that on the side of a car I looked @ my husband, winked & said... thought they just made 'em for homoturbos.
It was super funny @ the time, though I'm sure someone out there will have their feeling hurt by reading it.

GoT better not be as f*ing campy this week. Very disappointed with the season premiere last Sunday... or better yet I'll post this & find they didn't bother to air one on a holiday as they've done that before too.
No better way to celebrate Easter than with beer, marijuana, and excessively loud rap music.

Think tonight might be a good night to get my supermoto out and do a little spring tuning on it. Probably wait until about an hour after their stupid party. Figure they?ll be trying to get some sleep about then.

I have a neighbor like this & they are not very considerate. I sequentially pull out the 2 stroke 'everything' & find a use for all that I can in proximity to the fence line until they give up & go back inside.
To be clear, I've had to make the point @ 0130 on more than one occasion. Stupid neighbors doesn't begin to cover it.

I went to a German (non auto) factory plant. The president of the company goes, "Let me show you something you cannot see in US."
one the the factory workers lounge had hard liquors.
They said there are less accident and good quality control even when employees drink during break time.
Wow...
This was 2002,so it may have changed a little now.
I was invited up to the Coors plant in Golden, forget what for, but they to used to allow drinking on the job.
They sell beer, at the end of the day. Drinking is good :)

Paved over "flower" garden where porch swing was to make wind protected outdoor cooking area. Porch swing moving to deck and another turkey fryer stand, flat grill and either Camp Chef or Pit Boss smoker will take up residence along with vert smoker and combo grill. Charcoal grill, gas roaster get sent to barn/shop service.
Gotta cut the last few pavers to fit and get on to the rest of the fence. Mrs bo is starting to get the hang of the post hole digger on the tractor. The post holes for the picket fence had to be done by hand due to the landscaping on outside of fence and the post holes for post/rail fence right of gate are PIA even with one side just being lawn. Be glad to get in open away from existing landscaping.

Pickets are reclaimed 2" siding I had resawn years ago for a basement bar finish(barnwood look) and saved leftovers. Mrs bo saw it recently and wanted wind break to look rustic, saved a few bucks too.
I recently reused the neighbors' old fence for more fence for my chickens. Nothing like reusing 20 year-old trash wood, painting it, and not being able to tell the difference afterward.

The four rail post and dowel fence is little over 5' at top rail with chain link to top rail. Chain link in pic is old wire and will be replaced.
So far the GSD pup has obeyed training not to cross/jump fence which has been 4' tall but can leave the yard any time she wants. Training and a foot taller fence should avoid prison yard.

Out here they're using pallets for poultry fencing, with some chicken wire stapled to the outside. Drop a pallet over 2 - 3 6' green stakes, looks fairly practical and low budget's even better

In for a penny in for a dollar. Replacing the flywheel too. Heatmarks, plus the dual mass set up is wobbly probably a worn bearing, hell if I want to do this job anytime again.
The fun part is finding the grease for the half shaft. Apparently there is only 1 tube left in Co. Why? California prop 65. I kid you not.

What grease wouldn't cause cancer? Or have the possibility to cause it? And most places just put that warning on everything that could go to CA as there is nothing wrong with putting it on when it doesn't apply.
Since they all cause cancer, can't you just use a different brand?
Is there such a thing as a socket with a round base, or is this another "custom" tool that my grandfather made?

More than likely used for bearing installs. Or he needed that size to press a sleeve in to a race, or pipe. With those old mc projects he had. Possibly used for pressing bushing in to shifter, cam and chain covers.
Must be a custom job. I'll stick with my original guess of seating bearings, but that's a WAG.
ETA: 40416 is standard S-K part ID for 3/8" drive deep well 6 point socket.

custom tool, as others have said, probably used for pressing and not removal of bolts.
I had a brand new 13mm Snap-On wrench that the box end was just a round hole. Wanted to keep it for a conversation piece but the dealer took it from me to warranty it out.

As others said tool for pressing or custom made to fit a bolt that was too close to the wall. Rather than wrench with an open end he made a custom wrench.
My dad has tons of wierd tools. Wierdly welded wrenches. Sockets that have been cut and welded to a tube and some ground down offset box wrenches for those pesky fasteners.

Harbor freight wrenches are the best for grinding down to thinner size. So cheap you don?t care about taking a grinder to them. This is how I made a wrench for flash hiders.

The STX-3K and LEM #8 have very close following regarding which is preferred over the other. I was going to go with the $189 unit that included a juicer and foot pedal switch. However we don't do that whole juice thing and the foot pedal was suggested as only needed if doing sausage. I'm going to go with one of these, which like the stx-3k has very favorable feed back on a few meat curing and sausage forums.

Highway 128 was okay but I thought 191 heading south out of Moab was a prettier drive. In June we're planning to take 191 from Moab down to the 40, over to Flagstaff, then down to Phoenix, and ending in Tucson, we'll stay in Tucson for the night, and scope things out, before making our way to California for our annual visit. We were hoping to tent camp a night in Moab, but this route was a last minute idea, and pretty much everything is booked.
I did pretty much that same route. Very scenic drive. I could be wrong on the location but I think the south end of 191 right before you get to 40 was really beautiful. Looked like something out of a roadrunner cartoon.

My wife told me that one of her former co-worker has adult son who wanted to purchase a first firearm.
So the mom went to gun store (possibly holding hands together) with her adult son to purchase a first firearm Taurus G2c.

04-24-2019, 21:41
It will be a special day, you'll know because when you wake up on that day.....there will be a robin on your windowsill, rose pedals spread around you, the smell of lilac in the air and a Pegasus will be awaiting at your doorstep.
He'll take you to Village Inn.
OtterbatHellcat
04-24-2019, 21:42
Well, the closest mutual Village Inn anyways.
:)
ChickNorris
04-24-2019, 21:42

Try using the toilet. Or you take offense at someone who tries shaking with their left hand.

What's good? You off work for a long weekend now?
Not yet. Technically finished my work for the week just trying to decide if I want to head home soon or if there is anything else I can get done before I call it a week.
Literally have my feet up on the desk and playing around on my phone.
ChickNorris

I organized my gear for a range trip in the morning.
Out the door as soon as my feet hit the floor.
Either going to do yard work when I get home or maybe assemble an upper receiver. Tough call.
ChickNorris
04-25-2019, 15:05
Like a French rooster.

ChickNorris
04-25-2019, 15:16

OtterbatHellcat
04-25-2019, 20:08
While I have eaten some dirt, I've not tried mud specifically. Might be alright, dunno.

Fun day. Another coming up.
Time for a nap. Nighty night folks.
I haven't yet to have late delivery on eBay guaranteed delivery since they started that program until this month. Basically, the eBay pays you $5 for late delivery on eBay Guaranteed Delivery items.
This month alone, i had 4 late deliveries and received 4 $5 coupon codes. No complaints at all.
